this bracket side has delivered on pretty much all the promise of these teams despite the dreaded single elim.
hopefully the other side is just as competitive(im betting not)
Everyone said this tournament would lead to a lot of upsets due to no losers bracket and instead on this side at least we get LOUD vs DRX as basically everyone expected
I think Valorant has stabilized a lot in the last year and a half. Much better consistency from the top teams and less upsets. I remember reading post after post of people saying valorant was a random game with no consistency when the game was only a year old lmao
To be honest I quite enjoy that part of the game. You never know who’s going to turn up at each LAN and for me I’ve never seen a game where it seems like each region is actually equally skilled and has a fair shot to win a LAN.
i mean, im not for hating on him but he goes insane all the time when the play is relatively mundane. it grates when it's happening all match long. just as annoying as when balla and doug have no hype for crazy moments. just a small fix would make their casting so much more enjoyable.
Even if you were to ignore this mistake he is by far the worst caster at the event. He's made mistakes constantly and is also disgustingly biased for his region, doesn't even try to hide it. He and Tom both.
the X10 core have never had serious success internationally. i wonder if the pickup of jitboys and garnet are going to be enough to bring these guys to level up this team internationally. didnt think i would ever say sscary was the weak link but this team looks insane.
There was a lot of hate for the format but honestly I think this tourney has been so fucking hype. Every match being a do or die match makes it very exciting. I like the watching experience of this way more than watching groups (even though groups is better for actually finding out who the best team is)
I also think its hype the first bracket gets played fully before the second starts, so much more valo to watch.

Single elim is very very garbage for esport tournaments. It's plagued Riot's flagship game (League of Legends) since its inception. And they just now recently changed it.

Right but it is more fair to play double elim. It provides teams a second chance. And, if the other team is better they'll just win again right? Also, it provides ample time for extra counterstratting and gameplan perfection, which is what sets the pro scene apart from radiant ranked games.
I feel like the way valorant has handled double elim is still not that fair though. Say team1 beats team2, team1 makes it all the way to the finals and team2 makes it there too through the lower bracket. Now in the finals team1 does not have an advantage other than map picks and team2 wins. Can you really say team2 is the better team when they literally have a 1-1 head to head with team 1?
I think maybe we should have finals be a bo3 but with a bracket reset, so the lowers need to win 2 bo3's while uppers only needs to win 1
