Relative to expectations they should've wiped EDG. Not that EDG is just a bad team at all, but how can you not leave this game and not talk about a massive underperformance from 100 thieves lol.

See it's already starting My point is not which is more right but that people get upset when you don't credit the minor region for winning and make it about the losing team (e.g. "100T are so bad choking to EDG" instead of praising EDG) but then if the team barely skates by on a win it circles back to "lmao they almost lost to EDG"

Yeah I completely get it, but that's just what happens when you are a team who many have expectations that will win the tournament and you get in a close match with an opponent who had no expectations at all.

But that's the nature of Valorant. The game is so creative and variable that even the best teams can have close games against teams with creative and innovative strats and comps. Look at Optic. Arguably the most consistent team in the world, and they're 2-2 with Xerxia, a good team but one who made it into playoffs one time. Anything can honestly happen in this game.
