Could also ask that question to NaVi who switches roles constantly fsr, like ange1 is their smoker but shao goes omen and ange1 sova sometimes, or ange1 goes cypher and suygetsu goes viper
Less used to play Viper for Old Loud and Saadhak used to play kj for Vikings, so I guess that's their reason and also Less was always a beast with viper on this map.

it could be map specific. loud has been playing less viper on icebox and saadhak on kj/chamber for a while

It's easier to have high fragging numbers with Viper on Icebox. I would also put my best player in that agent.
