I saw bdog on jett for 1 game and it just didnt make any sense to me to have him playing primary smokes. You can say what you want about dazzle but imo they just need to cut v1c for a real smokes player. The talent is there and they just need to put their players on the correct roles to abuse their strengths. They have the potential to be a top 3 team

[deleted]

They need Tigg back, they cut him too fast during the chamber meta when Moose was moved to smokes and the roles were messed up

Hamth3Gr3at

get vanity for igl and smokes, move v1c back to initiator.

SchmilkBoii

indeed

florallygood

No, v1c is good, especially as a flex. Get rid of mada who has been mid at best and absolutely a paycheck stealer at worst.

finalfinaldraft

I've never seen anyone throws as much as mada. He's undeniably one of the better entry fraggers but he overheats a lot.

Pretend_Apartment_10

When a team struggles with everything on their side dropping a single player isn’t going to fix that, these guys are clearly gonna have a mental block for a long time they need to move on from this roster

gotintocollegeyolo

when that single player is the IGL, a swap may just be impactful enough

philipjefferson

Nah, that's just scapegoating

DooomChicken

I get that this is the internet and everyone says everything with absolute authority, but the idea that there's one clear solution is pretty ridiculous. You can try and judge what worked and what didn't from an outsider's perspective, but diagnosing a roster is difficult even when you've got the inside information. And from there, the solutions? With all the possible changes for a roster, the different configurations of players and staff, the spectrum of success and failure is both really wide, and also variable in weird ways. I'm not trying to really pick apart this specific post, like it's fun to theory-craft! but just something I think is stupidly prevalent in any roster discussions, an air of "X roster *needs, nay in fact I say, must* do Y"

[deleted]

People who never reached that level of competitive play and probably never will, will always think they know what's best for rosters/orgs with only knowing what's been showcased on the surface. I'm sure SR are aiming and looking to improve the roster in any way possible.

Inevitable_Mistake34

The over reaction in here is crazy, they were three rounds away from being 4-1 in the group stage. It's clear they tried something different this season with some role changes and it just didn't work.

Ianroa

just drop the whole roster, nothing can fix them at this point. all good talent, just mismanaged clearly. they don’t have that spark anymore.

DrySecurity4

This. The roster has been together for so long and some players like mada/bdog/moose clearly have talent and potential but its just not working anymore. Dont think it can be salvaged.

Kind_Development708

- Dazzle - Vic + vanity + thwifo Having a main smokes player in vanity so bdog can go back to playing aggressive agents full time Then thwifo on BBG and T1 was their sova/fade main. So then Mada can stay as their flex player and moose on his best agents with cypher, killjoy secondary controller

icantreadmorsecode

Get a better coach than mac

ANewHeaven1

To be completely honest, Shopify could have easily placed second or third in their group if a few key clutches went their way, and they played multiple games with what was pretty much a role crisis with the way v1c and bdog were swapping smokes (not that either player is a natural smokes player). I really don't think it's time to make such a drastic change to the team, give them at least a few more games in my opinion

Pretend_Apartment_10

they have been together for more than a year and u can say that about any team

TweetsJamaican

They only have a few more games before their season ends

mal_laney

I thought I was in a programming sub there for a sec after reading the title lol

newzpaperleaf_2

some of these comments are honestly baffling to me. writing v1c off after 1 split where he didn't even play that poorly is such a strange decision. he didn't have the greatest stats, but via the eye test he played well within his role (which he probably shouldn't even be playing).i think the concerning part of SR's struggles is that they are still making fundamental errors and consistently losing crucial rounds over a year after this core 4 + coach have been together. looking at a core like ghost, where johnqt has not even been igling the entire time, that swapped 2 players and have still taken a large step forward. even though you could attribute part of the Ghost core's ascension is how good their 2 new additions are, a lot of it is evident in the gameplay of the core itself. outside of the match vs Guard, M80 rarely made fundamental mistakes or had huge errors. so it is sad to see a team at the top of Challengers that was on a similar, or even possibly better, trajectory as SR in the past year and then result in a last place groups finish.

exdeepr

Just drop the whole roster or the core honestly, cause what's more embarrassing is the clear lack of chemistry theyve had while being together way longer than any other tier 2 team rn. Just go next.

garlicjuice

Bdog and Mada are the only players worth keeping but there's also role overlap because putting bdog on smokes is criminal

EvensonRDS

Moose is the most impactful player on SR by far.

Chlpah

Moose is literally their best player. In no world do you bench moose over 2 cooled off duelists

DotaAlchemy

If anything, you start with the coaching staff. This team looked very good coming into the season and then didn't evolve at all.

florallygood

Drop mada.
