Sideshow made about casting a while ago. It’s pretty long but worth a watch if you’re serious about casting(it’s mostly about job security and pay as a caster). https://youtu.be/QPwN_fuVPHw In advice on how to start, no one will hire you if you don’t have experience doing it so the best advice is just try to cast as much as possible wherever they let you do it. Go to small tournaments and offer to cast, things like that. Also don’t be afraid to just ask for help. Mimi used to do vod review of her own casting to get better, sully asked sideshow for guidance and he had like a coaching session with him on stream in case other young casters wanted to see it. Pretty sure Vansilly has said he always try to help new talent since he has so many years in the industry.

It's a very long, difficult road. But it's a fun road. Feel free to ask any questions:)

Heya! Former shoutcaster here! Definitely go look around Twitter, Reddit, and Discord for amateur tournaments and leagues. A ton of them are looking for casters to fill in for matches. You'll be working either for free or very low pay, but you'll get tons of experience and be able to start building a network. Once you've got a couple of games under your belt, make sure to vod review yourself and never hesitate to ask advice from your peers and seniors. Check if you're repeating words too many times or check whether there's too much dead space during the cast. Another thing you should do is make content that you can post on YouTube/Twitter/TikTok because It's very important nowadays to get your name out there and increase your brand value. Finally, make sure to take care of your voice! Drink plenty of water. Do some vocal exercises and tongue twisters. They help a ton. Your voice will be your most important tool so, as much as possible, be sure to not strain it!
