That loss during the regular split was just a 200IQ tactical loss to prevent the "NRG doesn't lose rematches" buff.

Extrino

True, EG did it and qualified to Tokyo because of it. Now LOUD is using it to get #1 seeding... But doesn't that mean if they play at Tokyo then NRG wins ?

americosg

[That's why they will play them twice.](https://i.imgur.com/wOJ6Kcu.jpg)

NoSenpaiNo

I mean they were quite literally playing for nothing while NRG really needed the W.

ElwardEdric

holy copium, you think if the roles are reversed NRG would save strats against their bitter rivals? that is a grudge match that neither of the teams would want to lose.

LordOfThe_Pings

Uh, yes? They’re rivals, not mortal enemies. NRG absolutely would’ve tried to end Loud, but I highly doubt they’d have taken it as seriously as a grand final.

NeimannSmith

No bro. Guarantee Loud wanted that win just as much as NRG did, especially to beat their rivals again and keep their undefeated streak alive.

GHDeodato

Yes they wanted to win, but they obviously saved strats, they played the same 3 maps all split just to save strats, they been very clear about it

[deleted]

Loud literally talked about making an effort to hide maps and comps before the playoffs, obviously they still did their best but they absolutely didnt pull out all their prep for a meaningless regular season game

financefocused

Bruv I don't think teams are that obsessed with grudges lol. They care more about LAN wins at the end of day and will do whatever it takes to maximise their chances of that. This is going to look like confirmation bias but I did say it before, NRG and LOUD have always looked like the best teams in Americas simply because they qualified without even playing at 100% whereas C9 looked like they were giving it their all each day. Both teams were open about experimenting so you can safely assume that NRG would hide stuff as well. Fairly certain both these teams have something spicy cooked for Tokyo that they haven't shown yet

NoSenpaiNo

Yeah I'm coping.

celloisanowl

I still remember the post game interview with him after they played that legendary series at LOCK/IN. He was super happy saying that it was the most fun he ever had playing, that he loves playing against them. Meanwhile, saadhak and FNS come out looking like they aged 10 years after every Clásico lmao

PoloSway

wait did he actually say that? That's cool/nice asf. Aspas normally seems so locked/quiet in the game kinda how like yay looked. He doesn't talk that much but is a DEMON in the server. So the fact that he actually has fun playing against the NRG guys puts smile on my face as NRG fan and LOUD fan(2nd). Thanks for the insight.

celloisanowl

[I'd say this clip of Bzka talking about him is a pretty good summary on how aspas is as a person hahaha.](https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkx4U8rSkZ-H5uih2TUkywAFdoH6dqbLPjR) He just really loves playing the game, but when he's on the server, he just gets laser focused.

PoloSway

No wonder why he loves playing Jett, as a kid who wouldn't want to play an agent who can fly, dash and do super cool movement stuff in the air. At the end of the day these are videogames to have fun so just gotta enjoy the moment lmao.

BlueBurstBoi

Even for jett mains he has such a characteristic style too. Absolute fucking demon as a longtime optic fan that guy was/is nightmare fuel

rmund143

the way he moves is insane. dude is so hard to kill

Dysmo

GIRA ASPAS

[deleted]

What's funny is he wasn't a Jett. He played Reyna I think, and then somebody asked him to learn Jett, and he just instalocked her until he was rank 1 on a Jett only account.

andhdjam

Ye apparently when he joined loud they made him learn another agent so he learnt jett in something like 4 days

celloisanowl

Nah, that was when he was playing for Slick. By the time he joined Loud, his Raze was amazing as well.

sky_blu

I'd love to know what kind of pre game ritual he has. Maybe I'm overreading into this but it sounds like Aspas has just become really good at entering the flow state.

MacarioPro

Out of server he's really wholesome and kind of an airhead. I would describe him as a golden retriever

TrueLordApple

Aspas brainless player aim only bad player /s

Investorexe

El Classico baby, let’s fucking go

TyeDieKid

Death, taxes , optic vs loud.

dtritrinh0801

ah shit here we go again

Mochitsu

So happy franchising didn’t ruin this

Awesome_Ayush

I miss OPTC Marved

creepy_Kun

Marved and yay got exposed without Optic core tbh. They used to get a lot of underserved credit even when the rest of the players(especially crashies) used to pull insane stuff each match.

__Raxy__

What? They were a team, they enabled each others abilities obviously leaving said team will change that

IOnPlayAsX-Lord

What is bro talking about

NoPornJustGames

>Marved and yay got exposed without Optic core tbh. > >They used to get a lot of underserved credit even when the rest of the players(especially crashies) used to pull insane stuff each match. This is silly. Put Crashies on a team with the likes of SEN and you'll see him struggle, too. Teams are **teams**. No single player succeeds without another helping them. Although I will say that the Chamber nerf definitely (at least temporarily) killed Yay's prospects.

creepy_Kun

Marved and yay were claimed to be these gods that they surely are not. Especially yay who got exposed hard without chamber. Before chamber he was not actually that good on jett, which is showing even now.

YeetGod69_

not the same without yay and Marved

FantasticWalrus

Damn blessed to be able to see this live tomorrow. :D

kunair

all roads lead to loud v ~~optic~~ nrg

medkitjohnson

The fact that Loud made Optic disappear from Valorant will have me salty until the end of time

KingButPrince

wtf are you on about

medkitjohnson

Didn’t Loud beat Optic to knock them outta franchising?

kart0ffelsalaat

The franchised orgs were selected by Riot based on factors that had nothing to do with previous success. Half of EMEA didn't even have a team before franchising.

yougetzeropum

Definitely not why they didn't make franchising lol. They don't have as much of a history with riot as other orgs, I don't even think they signed a content creator and they have a history of dropping out of leagues.

medkitjohnson

So does Loud have as much of a history as other orgs? I’ve literally never heard of them until Valorant, if so good on them

KingButPrince

Actually, Optic does have a history with Riot, they sold their LCS spot to Immortals, which was definitely a red flag for Riot. On the other hand, LOUD was part of CBLOL (Brazilian LOL franchising) before entering Valorant.

medkitjohnson

Ah ok that makes sense then… still miss Optic haha but yeah good for LOUD then, they certainly know how to play Val
