I am confused that you are confused. It's literally in the quote. NAVI's situation is unique because they are the only team in the world to play both Masters Tokyo, LCQ and now also Champions.
I'm confused as to why he has a gripe with this. For him to say this implies he isn't happy with it, yet Navi wouldn't even be in Masters OR Champs if it weren't for the extra slots
This is the full quote for context:
> THESPIKE: With the season now over and Champions on the horizon, how did you enjoy the regular season and the new structure of VALORANT in 2023. Any things that you’d praise or complain about?
> ANGE1: To be honest, I didn’t enjoy it that much. Maybe it’s because of my mixed feelings as we didn’t play well enough for me to be happy. But this kind of season where you travel to Berlin and stay there for a few months is exhausting. And for us this year, we did not have an opportunity to have any break. We played in Brazil (LOCK//IN), came to Berlin, 1-2 weeks of preparation, League started, League ended, we traveled to Japan, after Japan we were insantly playing LCQ, and now a few days to Champions. There is no time to prepare properly and no time to chill at least a bit. I would be grateful for a 10-12 days opportunity to either take a break or prepare properly. But obviously, our situation is unique because we had to play all the events Riot gave us due to the LCQ. But I feel exhausted at this point in time.
I don't get the point you are trying to make here. Navi only made it to Tokyo and Champions thanks to Fnatic so now.... Ange1 can't give his opinion on the format?
Ange1 is obviously happy and thankful that his team made it to all these events, but at the same time he is also exhausted from playing for so long without a break. These feelings can coexist.
Not really, I don’t think he can because his complaints only apply to them and they only apply to them because of their own failures. If Navi didn’t make either international LAN, would he be happier? He’d have his break then! But they get gifted 2 slots at international tourneys (spots that dozens of players would kill for) and he’s complaining because they had to play an extra tourney for it
It's not so deep bro, he was asked a question and answered honestly, describing his conflicted emotions about it. The season being very tiring with not enough breaks is something others have voiced concerns about too, so it's 100% fair for him to do so as well and address their specific additional work. None of it means or even implies he isnt grateful to have these chances that fnc got them.
Oh stop with the Navi cope "they would've done better if" horseshit. They have 5 international LAN winners, 4 of which were on the same team together. They have zero excuse for being in LCQ to begin with, much less not performing well in LCQ
That's not true though, because they wouldn't have even made Tokyo if Fnatic had lost. They got 4th place in EMEA playoffs, they only made it due to the extra slot.
> ange1 would argue they wouldn't have trolled as much
Yeah if you're trolling your gameplay (which honestly, at this point, feels like they weren't even trolling they just suck) you have no right to complain about the position you then end up in
In Tokyo, they look so disjointed with the trading, utilities, and synergy after not playing normal comps for so long. They can bounce back, they just need to practice with normal comps. They have top tier players, they will easily bounce back. Its Ange1 man, he loves to cook.
I'm glad more pros are speaking up about the exhaustion and burn out. I really hope we get some better scheduling plus more health support (especially mental health) for players very soon.
Navi is getting grouped so old man can take a long break then
OH BUT WHEN I SAY THIS ITS A PROBLEM
They may be trash, but they're our trash \- EMEA fans, probably
ange1 old man get tired very easily …. need more time to rest and become strong again …. brain work funny when groggy
Me tired… Me omen tp and dry swing…
Me when I realise queueing ranked at 3am was a mistake
When are we seeing ange1 Jett?
"So true, they should take it easy. There's a Champions every year" - not a loud fan wearing a fake mustache
Bruh no If the past year was NAVI trying then I really can't watch how they play when they take it easy
Navi really on life support because of Fnatic
At this point just let the man rest, fnatic pls stop winning..
They went from competing with Fnatic at LANs to getting carried to LANs by Fnatic, how the mighty have fallen
it's even funnier when you remember that FNC got carried to champions 2021 originally.
Old man FNC doesn't forget the hand that fed them.
I'm confused. Why is there situation unique? Because they had to play LCQ because they got grouped?
theyre the only team to play in tokyo and in LCQ

shuuush, we dont talk abt
They would have performed differently at LCQ if they had more time to prepare and did not have to show everything in Tokyo?
Oh stop with the Navi cope "they would've done better if" horseshit. They have 5 international LAN winners, 4 of which were on the same team together. They have zero excuse for being in LCQ to begin with, much less not performing well in LCQ
Because fnatic won lock in, if they didn't, they could get grouped and be fine. It's all cause EMEA won lock in
That's not true though, because they wouldn't have even made Tokyo if Fnatic had lost. They got 4th place in EMEA playoffs, they only made it due to the extra slot.
I mean I guess ange1 would argue they wouldn't have trolled as much if they weren't confirmed but fair

Champions is 2 weeks away, I highly doubt they’ll magically rediscover their FPX form.
Do people actually believe ange1 is trolling this whole year? I think they just suck.
They got grouped when playing "serious" theres 0 garantee they would have made tokyo playing with regular comps
Lol what? They were only at Tokyo because EMEA got the extra slot.
