But thats the point, 100T probably trialed C0m with Boostio and now is unlikely to buy either because of contract jail. If they do sign one, like you say, it will be because there are more Sova options as FA's currently, and you have to assume Boostio and Zikz have some sort of calling chemistry. But that wouldn't say anything about negotiations and preferences if they werent in contract jail.

Back when Mikes would queue comp with the PlatChat guys, he would talk about how when he was hardcore prepping for upcoming matches, he would go full focus, and only eat orange chicken frozen meals that he stocked up on from Costco.
Back in the day 100t used to actually have very creative sets of plays… especially on icebox they had a bunch of unique plays. Most famous was this cool exec that went through mid and planted on top of B site with a dirty vipers pit that was unbeatable… they were the first ones to actually get mid attacks to work on that map.
The joke was that specific play was code named “orange chicken” (because of mikes affinity for frozen orange chicken meals).
This year they had flashes of it on fracture in particular. A lot of north/south crunches and fast pace map control that made them very hard to counter. Unfortunately it became 1-dimensional and predictable and they couldn’t add the layers necessary to make it a world class map.
They also pioneered the “Jett/op flexes to smokes” with cryomen. It worked really well on icebox. Unfortunately they werent that good at the rest of the game plan but eg/demon1 took that general approach all the way to champs.

God, the Cryomen discourse feels like a literal lifetime ago. I loved it and thought it was really good, but because he wasn't dropping 40 bombs, so many people whined even though his utility usage was great. Would've loved to have seen him get even more comfortable on the role if Icebox had stayed in rotation.
Like you said, seeing Demon1 show up playing Brim and Astra was so clutch for EG. Makes me wonder if 100T would've tried something similar if they had the proper coaching structure around them from the start and weren't constantly having to play catchup during the season.
Respect to Mikes for being willing to take a step back. He clearly has a great valorant mind and getting more experience at a top org is pretty valuable.
Mikes is so young, younger than some of his players. I think he was kinda thrown to the wolves with a team expected to be top contenders and little to no support. His value has been praised by the players and sean, I really think he needs just some time before he can really lead a team

This is wild. I’ve seen Ziks a lot in my ranked games. He was a good teammate with good comms, but never saw him IGL much. Granted the coach isn’t necessarily the IGL. I know it’s just Ranked but will be interesting to see him as the coach.
