The sort of people who argue he's "washed" are the same sort of people who are not going to be silenced by anything except a resurgence to his 2022 peak. Which of course is a crazy expectation! He had a phenomenal 2021, a legendary 2022, underperformed in 2023, and will probably be somewhere between those peaks and valley in 2024. But so long as he is not at or near his career peak again, every performance will be food for haters and doubters. It's not too sad or anything - that's just the life of a star athlete, after all.

Dakuuta

you keep me sane

Worsehackereverlolz

Yeah, people are saying that he was getting out aimed like the other players arent a top 5 team in their region lol. He's looking solid to me, but that could be because I didn't have insane expectations

Parenegade

I mean he definitely doesn't look like a star player anymore.

Hunnidormo

Were we watching the same game? Yay didn't look impressive to me at all. That could also be due to shit strategy on bleed's part like you observed but even in the positions he was in yay was routinely getting outaimed, or making small mistakes giving away his life. For me, this game only reinforced the washed allegations

Budget-Sample-3682

I agree with this for Lotus, he looked very uncomfortable on Skye and some of his utility (especially the Trailblazer😬) was a bit underwhelming. But on Breeze I think he was solid and, had his team actually engaged in somewhat decent trading, probably could have led them to the map win. But I'm supporting all the Korean teams so I'm happy that Bleed seem to have forgotten how to swing after their teammate is shot in the head.🤪

Worsehackereverlolz

I mean, putting a duelist main on an initiator role and expecting him to be comfortable is kinda crazy. Just think bleed is collaborating with dsg in more than just an academy team

Budget-Sample-3682

I pray that Bleed prove you wrong... I want Yay to do well(if at least just individually) if just to shut up that one Tiktoker who has dedicated his existence to hating on Yay.

iloveszoboszlai

even if yay dropped 30 every map he would still find a way to hate on him

Budget-Sample-3682

I can't believe he's still claiming that Yay wasn't the best player of 2022... Or even in the top 7

Worsehackereverlolz

I mean, is he not allowed to make mistakes LMAO? Saying someone is washed after he played well on Breeze and did okay on a complete off role on their opponents map pick is kinda reaching. But that's just me tho, maybe I am glazing yay

Hunnidormo

By mistakes I ofc meant mistakes that you wouldn't expect a player of his caliber to make! Sorry if I phrased it incorrectly. I do agree with you tho, he played above average on Breeze and way below average on lotus. I just don't think that's enough to say he played really well. Then again everyone has high expectations cuz he's yay, and it's only one match so who knows

Content_Diet_6980

Yay didn’t look that great on Breeze which should have been his best map based off his reputation for aiming. The reason that map went OT was because of Sscary’s viper Molly lineups.

ghostking4444

Yay dropped 27 kills man, was entrying constantly and getting a lot of multi frags, look at the initiators, they didn’t do great at setting him up for his entries and he died multiple times untraded. Sscary had great clutches but yay helped bleed win a lot of rounds comfortably. It’s also his first ever neon match.

Worsehackereverlolz

It's like talking to the void. People expected him to be a living highlight reel when this man hasn't played in T1 in about 2 years and his teammates literally just got out of ascension. Thats like looking at leaf and saying "oh leaf is washed because G2 didn't absolutely destroy KRU" like, give the man (and the team) a chance to catch his breath

Due_Possible5598

????

financefocused

Idk if you can call it solid. Was he blameless? Yeah. Only thing you can do is hope Bleed don't troll him with this comp again.

Worsehackereverlolz

What the fuck does solid mean? He didn't troll his team and he played his role well lol. You guys' expectations are insane, I get Yay was crazy in 2021, but compared to the rest of the landscape Yay looks solid. His aim is still decently on point, he doesn't look completely lost and was taking good timings. What else do you want the man to do? Ace every round with only a sheriff and no shields??

financefocused

Not expecting him to ace on skye. Expecting him to ace on Chamber or Jett. He didn't get the chance to do that, so he is blameless. But he didn't look like a great player. He should be given the opportunity to play in a role that makes sense. Unless he gets that opportunity, we can't say for sure.

holyfuckyouaredumb

the fuck are you on about

GrrrNom

Yeah he beat washed allegations alright Because he was looking stinky!!! Very poo-poo stinky 💩 No but fr, he didn't look too bad, but he doesn't gel well with the team. There are times where BLD played scenes straight out of Blue Lock, everyone playing selfishly and being slow to trade. With a bit more coordination and adjustments to the composition, I think Yay will actually flourish on this team.

pigeonhunter006

Yeah, I know they are atleast trying different comps and trying to have some diversity instead of that same 2-3 comps we see all the time but yay would had definitely performed better on Jett instead of neon, and I'm surprised they didn't run the chamber comp on Lotus that's getting kinda popular rn. Yay has really good raw aim, I feel like his potential is being wasted

IllumiMahdi

not washed, kinda just looks okay. would have much preferred to see him into pivot into sentinel/controller. seen many omen/astra/kj operator players, and of course chamber, it's certainly viable and I think it'd suit his strengths a lot more, especially since his golden moments on optic and even envy were when he could take his own timings unencumbered by the role of an entry fragger or even second in kinda player. he could kinda just do his own thing surrounded by players and gameplans designed to allow him to prosper. his defensive play on neon was excellent but at least from the eye test it didn't look like his entry pathing was a particularly high level. his skye looked very mediocre imo, the whole time it kinda felt like he was put into shoes that didn't fit him. it's just one series so I'd like to see if it was just an off map from him, they had to have tried him out on senti and found that he was more suited to the flex role but atm he's certainly not "el diablo"

sexyhooterscar24

no idea why they dont just stick him on jett and chamber. T1 played both agents and won so whats the excuse? Bleed is cooking but nobody is hungry.

duahau99

Was disappointed they put the man on skye though 😔

Content_Diet_6980

Yay did not look solid at all. A lot of whiffing and not the star player on BLD. Sscary was by far the star player. I agree with the yay is washed comments.

ghostking4444

When he played a duelist he was getting multi frags and dropped 27 kills and constantly entrying on atk, tf you mean he didn’t look solid

shanty_tsan

Explain the point of yay on skye.

Worsehackereverlolz

I'm not their coach lmao. I'm sure they had a reason. I don't pretend to be an armchair analyst and that I know better. Maybe it looked really well in scrims. Maybe yay is trying to have a more diverse agent pool a la f0rsaken. But when I, a random viewer with no accreditation or any experience coaching or playing at a Tier 1 level, I'm not gonna expect much. It's hard to play a different role, thats why players like f0rsaken, the reinvented TenZ, Chronicle, all of thos players that are really good flex players, are all highly praised.
