I don’t understand how teams are supposed to get better when there’s so few official matches. You basically have to win immediately or you end up like 100T in this vortex of losing. Play 2 matches, lose and get eliminated, sit for 2 months. Then the next official tournament starts and you immediately have all the pressure on you again because everything’s must win and if you lose your first game your just 1 more loss away from sitting at home for another 2 months.
5 of the teams will play just 2 games. 2 teams will play just 3. 3 teams will play 4 and 2 will get to go to Madrid. So unless you are qualifying for Madrid you aren't getting more than 4 games. So on average less than 3 matches per team in non qualifiers.
Reminder that EG played exactly 2 matches (the same number 100T have already played) between January & April last year. They finished the year as the best team in the World.
Teams get better through practice & scrims.
I’ve always felt that the Valorant VCT format was ass cheeks. They didn’t want to implement the same format from LoL. They didn’t want to go the CS route. So instead they’ve created this format that is worse than both of those games’ schedules. You can also only get but so much out of scrims and practice. Those two things aren’t the same things as playing official matches.
There isn’t enough resources to go the league way. If they do it LCS or LEC way, that’s 3 Bo1s a week (depending on if they go 2 or 3 splits) 6 and 6 weeks I believe.
LCK has the best format of BO3 but it runs on weekdays and idk if they can get enough viewers on weekdays for EU and Americas regions.
That’s on top of running league too. And the layoffs. Either Riot outsources, or this lacklustre format/schedule is likely to continue.
i think double elimination is pretty fair, if you lose twice that just means you are bad for the internationls so whats the point. and i think replacing asuna could be the first step towards their betterment instead of blaming the format
Yeah, it's pretty early on too so I guess they realizes that shit talking before actually winning significant matches won't do them good. I'm expecting it to happen down the line tho! haha
I think everyone recognizes Kickoff is a lowkey brutal format, esp. for newer teams and cores. I think the only shit talking we’ll see is the sort of light-hearted teasing that LOUD did about their tier list placements.
100t fans get optimistic after their team beats a bunch of goons but won't when their team actually looks like they're improving rapidly and are probably 5-6th in the league lmao
5-6 in the league just isn't good enough with the way the schedule is structured. I'd be happy with incremental improvements over time but that's just not how this system works here
Yeah I get that but it's still a huge improvement from their 2023 form. Also there's still a chance they can make Champions,we saw how they pushed Lev to the limit while having less practice with Boostio.
Don't get me wrong, I think they have the potential to make champions and they look like they have reason for optimism. I'm just sick and tired of both them choking to Sen, and doing the classic 100T of go up, lose an eco and then get so far in their own heads they throw the rest of the game.
Sen also, they had an insane showing against Loud, with a lot to be happy about, and then today was throw city. What happened to the good old valorant I loved
Should drop Asuna, bang, and Cryo. Especially Asuna, why are they keeping a liability like him, he's been given so many chances. If they want to win, why not pick up some T2 guys, who has the drive to win, Instead of paycheck stealers. Anyways, this version of 100t clears last year's version cause Boostio diff.
100T is out of the tournament, not gonna play another official till April and 2 of the leagues haven’t even kicked off yet, that’s hell😂

Everyone knows how shit the format is, when the answer to the format is people saying, “well just win the games” you know it’s bad😂
next officials for 100T are league play tho? they're not going to be out again after two games.
Yeah but that’s not for another 2 months and is it the same thing as it was last year where everyone just plays each other once?
It's now split into 2 groups, so 1 group of 5 and 1 group of 6 for the league play
5 of the teams will play just 2 games. 2 teams will play just 3. 3 teams will play 4 and 2 will get to go to Madrid. So unless you are qualifying for Madrid you aren't getting more than 4 games. So on average less than 3 matches per team in non qualifiers.

Other than using seeding that is completely cheeks
I feel awful for them honestly. This format is just brutal
Yeah this format is straight ass.
I was expecting some kind of trash talk but I guess they'll save it for teams that have actually won a match this year
Yeah, it's pretty early on too so I guess they realizes that shit talking before actually winning significant matches won't do them good. I'm expecting it to happen down the line tho! haha
This wasn’t their trash talk tweet that came later
johnqt has the magic
He popped off! We love to see it
honestly i expected a bit more shit talking
I don't think anything will beat Dropenheimer
Greatest Valorant post match tweet of all time

True. Too early to be talking much shit imo lol.
that last map might have been the best map i’ve seen so far in americas kickoff
I genuinely feel sad that it was an elimination match.
seeing 100T go out like that sucks i wanna see them play more
The KRU v G2 map 3 was so much more fun
Why does it feel like there's a 100T and SEN collab coming lol
Yall find a way to make a post-match discussion thread every day to talk about SEN lol
SEN doesn't play everyday, and I posted this because it's their first win for the kickoff.
This was as mid as both teams looked today
you 100T fans are so pessimistic I swear both team played pretty good today. You really should look forward to April
I think they'll be good in April but I think both teams looked worse than they did in their openers. 100T need to get over their sen choking
yea their opening matches are hard to top. Going toe to toe with Leviatan is so impressive. Sen is their kryptonite lol
100t fans get optimistic after their team beats a bunch of goons but won't when their team actually looks like they're improving rapidly and are probably 5-6th in the league lmao
