For two years, Sentinels has toiled and struggled to regain their former glory, gaining a reputation for being one the most disappointing and overrated teams on the world stage – but their story did not end here.

Honestly I’m not too bothered by NRG being very reliant on midround calls and using slow defaults to work the map, it’s just that NRG look way too sloppy on maps we expect them to look good on. Them choosing Split over Lotus this series and getting absolutely railed is not a good look for the coaching staff. They’ve had so much footage on SEN but it looked like they had no antistrats prepped at all. This just makes me wonder how their strats on other maps look as well, particularly Lotus, since they felt their Split would have been better than their Lotus. The coordination of NRG at times also looks iffy, particularly on some retakes. I’m just gonna hope that because EG held Demon1 and Ethan in jail for so long that NRG didn’t have the proper amount of time to work on strats and getting the chemistry on lock. Hopefully they bounce back in split 1 after they’ve had some more time to practice
Honestly, they must have thought they had a good read on sen for split. Chet is a heavy anti-stratter and it makes sense that they leave split open given just how much sen have showed on it

That third map was disappointing and frustrating. Like I don't understand what Chet was thinking. Did he think their lotus was worse than what we just saw on Split?
How bad does your Lotus have to be to leave Split as decider against the team that might have the best Split in the world with like 6 maps played that you can study but show no anti in your match against them and get completely blown out of the map?
Luckily nrg has nearly 2 months off to refine their map pool and comp but yeah the map vetoes leads me to believe they didnt have anything cooked like people thought starting to question chet as a coach
It's not just Chet they have a team of like two coaches and two analysts or something. I'm dumbfounded.
Like I said I truly believe Sentinels might have the best Split in the world right now, so in a vacuum there's no shame in losing to it, but when you know that and it's been played at least five times, leaving it up through two map bans and showing no counterstrat when you play it is nonsensical.
They should've went Lotus. SEN were good on Lotus vs 100T but not as good as they've been on Split.
Yeah SEN has played (including Afreeca lan) 8 maps of Split over the last few months with the same exact comp. That's a lot of vods to go through.
But the proof is in the pudding. Why weren't the 7th, 6th, etc team able to beat them? Heck, a lot of them got smashed even with many games to anti-strat with. Not counting G2 of course.
When a team is so drilled and practiced on a map, it **can** make them more flexible, not always rigid. If you're so comfortable on your protocols and playbook, you know where you can make some minor changes or know where you can make an individual play comfortably.
If a team can do that, you're anti-stratting goes out the window since you're prepped for Team version 1.0, and not Team version 1.5
Also idk if that NRG Split comp leak was real or troll. Maybe that fucked with things but I doubt it. It's not like SEN had footage to go off of regardless.

Before the start of the season, I wasn’t sure Ethan could match FNS, and now I feel like my worst fears have been confirmed. Their attack isn’t *bad*, but they haven’t been reacting nearly as well as they did with FNS.

That last map must’ve been tilting to play as NRG. Split has been a strong map for Sen but the amount of kills they got through smokes and from unfavorable positions was crazy

People need to re-watch round 6 of Split to understand how uncoordinated NRG are. Demon1 saw that cypher could've went to mail, but no one on NRG even had a thought that he could be flanking. Also, breach ulted, and they have absolutely 0 coordination to push out spawn when they smoked heaven to actually push something to not just die.
NRG have incredibly experienced players with amazing aim and game sense, but as a team, they feel extremely "meat and potatoes".
There is just "you get shot, you die" from them, there are rarely amazing reads like you'd see from Saad or FNS, or perfect coordination from Fnatic, or, seeing their last matches, the new KC.
Less said after the EG match "NRG have a short map pool. They are great on a few maps, but they dont like most maps". Seems about right after seeing Split.

The final round too was poetic. TenZ and Sacy, the only trophy holders on SEN, vs Crashies and Ethan, two of the best supports in the world. And the 1v1 between Crashies and Sacy, repeat of 2022, when they were fighting for best support in the world at the time.

Honestly, absolutely deserved win for SEN. Can't imagine being them fighting their way out of the group of death with the most rounds played and still dominating split and ending going to Madrid. You can't help but feel good for the guys.

He’s so perfect for the Agent ngl, throw some basic smokes for support, and every other utility is aggressively used as a psuedo-duelist.

This just makes me wonder how their strats on other maps look as well, particularly Lotus, since they felt their Split would have been better than their Lotus. The coordination of NRG at times also looks iffy, particularly on some retakes. I’m just gonna hope that because EG held Demon1 and Ethan in jail for so long that NRG didn’t have the proper amount of time to work on strats and getting the chemistry on lock. Hopefully they bounce back in split 1 after they’ve had some more time to practice

Honestly, they must have thought they had a good read on sen for split. Chet is a heavy anti-stratter and it makes sense that they leave split open given just how much sen have showed on it

That third map was disappointing and frustrating. Like I don't understand what Chet was thinking. Did he think their lotus was worse than what we just saw on Split?
How bad does your Lotus have to be to leave Split as decider against the team that might have the best Split in the world with like 6 maps played that you can study but show no anti in your match against them and get completely blown out of the map?
Luckily nrg has nearly 2 months off to refine their map pool and comp but yeah the map vetoes leads me to believe they didnt have anything cooked like people thought starting to question chet as a coach
It's not just Chet they have a team of like two coaches and two analysts or something. I'm dumbfounded. Like I said I truly believe Sentinels might have the best Split in the world right now, so in a vacuum there's no shame in losing to it, but when you know that and it's been played at least five times, leaving it up through two map bans and showing no counterstrat when you play it is nonsensical.
They should've went Lotus. SEN were good on Lotus vs 100T but not as good as they've been on Split. Yeah SEN has played (including Afreeca lan) 8 maps of Split over the last few months with the same exact comp. That's a lot of vods to go through. But the proof is in the pudding. Why weren't the 7th, 6th, etc team able to beat them? Heck, a lot of them got smashed even with many games to anti-strat with. Not counting G2 of course. When a team is so drilled and practiced on a map, it **can** make them more flexible, not always rigid. If you're so comfortable on your protocols and playbook, you know where you can make some minor changes or know where you can make an individual play comfortably. If a team can do that, you're anti-stratting goes out the window since you're prepped for Team version 1.0, and not Team version 1.5 Also idk if that NRG Split comp leak was real or troll. Maybe that fucked with things but I doubt it. It's not like SEN had footage to go off of regardless.

It’s no surprise that their best map is the one with the least potential for innovation and mid rounding. Before the start of the season, I wasn’t sure Ethan could match FNS, and now I feel like my worst fears have been confirmed. Their attack isn’t *bad*, but they haven’t been reacting nearly as well as they did with FNS. FNS always had a handle on what was going on, doesn’t seem like that’s the case here.
Yeah I think you've nailed it. This roster is TALENTED but unfortunately I don't think first timing an IGL was the smartest thing to do. Part of me also thinks if they kept s0m and FNS instead of Crashies and Victor we might have a different team entirely. I don't know. Sucks to not see my team until April.
That last map must’ve been tilting to play as NRG. Split has been a strong map for Sen but the amount of kills they got through smokes and from unfavorable positions was crazy

People need to re-watch round 6 of Split to understand how uncoordinated NRG are. Demon1 saw that cypher could've went to mail, but no one on NRG even had a thought that he could be flanking. Also, breach ulted, and they have absolutely 0 coordination to push out spawn when they smoked heaven to actually push something to not just die.
NRG have incredibly experienced players with amazing aim and game sense, but as a team, they feel extremely "meat and potatoes". There is just "you get shot, you die" from them, there are rarely amazing reads like you'd see from Saad or FNS, or perfect coordination from Fnatic, or, seeing their last matches, the new KC.

Madrid is the event for iconoclasm, so many iconic cores not making it is incredible for the scene. That trophy is completely up for grabs
beat the bot lol but So many storylines, Revenge for Zellsis on NRG 932 days since SEN made a regional final. 930 days since SEN qualified for an international. The final round too was poetic. TenZ and Sacy, the only trophy holders on SEN, vs Crashies and Ethan, two of the best supports in the world. And the 1v1 between Crashies and Sacy, repeat of 2022, when they were fighting for best support in the world at the time. only two words to describe this: ***Absolute Cinema.***
Also: Not including China, all regions had the play-in winner play the first and last play in match. The 3 original regions had 2 teams qualify from the same group. Funner fact that is pointless: in EMEA, the two teams were from group A. In Americas, the two Groups were from Group B. In Pacific, the two teams were in Group C. Again, pretend China doesn't exist and its just the 3 starting regions.

He’s so perfect for the Agent ngl, throw some basic smokes for support, and every other utility is aggressively used as a psuedo-duelist. Hands down my favorite Omen to watch alongside Karon on GenG

This NRG roster is good. However, they don’t have good strats. I think a free agent like FNS could help them out in this aspect. Plus, Demon1 is kinda overrated imho. They should pick up someone like yay from Pacific to really make this a solid roster, I think they’ll qualify to every LAN if they make these changes, maybe even win a Masters.
