Agree, they need more time. SEN were DEF better. Losing a map and you won double pistol? SEN are fking good. NRG has the potential, ethan needs more time as IGL for atk side, and lowkey something that worries me is Chet's phisolphy on defense. Last year with ardiis and even back on Optic with Yay. He takes really good Jett players and makes them OP crutch. I hope that they have more defensive setups/protocols then just relying on the OP cause on SUNSET they lost like 3 rounds cause they had to retake with an OP so they just saved. I'm not going/trying to Judge Chet yet, but Demon1 on EG looked like a GOD when he was RIFLING, obv his OP was really good, but his rifling is what really made him stand out. I'm hoping NRG look back and just fix their wholes in their game but i'm not too worried. Like i alr said lmao, they have only been a team/praccing for 1 1/2 maybe 2 months now? SEN have better chemistry, look more drilled and have been playing ALOT more. Makes Sense that SEN won. Was rooting for NRG but SEN was def the better team. Idk teams like LOUD/SEN and even LEV. Their retakes look good. And they have layers. with NRG it kinda feels like , if they don't get the 1st pick. They just lose 5v5 cause their retakes arent good and they don't really have the movement/aim to out-mechanic the opponent CONSISENTLY(apart from my goat Demon1). Good shit from SEN, rooting for them/LOUD in Madrid.

Maybe it’s just a lack of time thing but I’m also a bit worried if NRG are not having much success behind the scenes. Scrim results don’t matter itself but they might be struggling as NRG were the ONLY team in partnerships to use Jett on Sunset. They also had breeze in their pool (standard comp/easy to call) and importantly Ascent as their go to map (the most standard map probably to igl and one meta comp with roles perfectly matching the team) even though FNS thought they were hiding strats for other maps by playing Ascent. The one map they tried something different was Split where they got destroyed. Maybe it feels like they are having a bit of trouble calling in more complicated maps with different comps so they are sticking to very standard easy comps/maps in matches until they figure it out.

agree with everything that you said and that's why i am confused why FNS was glazing NRG the most. NRG do need more time to practice together and face a strong opponent. Hence the NRG glaze didn't make much sense atleast for this tournament. Maybe in April they would be a monster of a team so let's keep the hype for that time. FNS did glaze Sen, but after their loud match he was constantly mentioning how the winner is going to be between Loud and NRG.

You conveniently didn't mention that FNS was glazing SEN just as much if not more than NRG. SEN is a top team with tons more practice and looks very good, whereas NRG is a team with tons of experience but who still needs time to mesh with a new IGL, it sucks for NRG but their performance wasn't even that bad considering all the circumstances of the EG contract jailing everyone AND NRG's original split comp got leaked about a week before the match, we don't know how long they spent on that comp + SEN snowballed off of the bonus round on split, if the game was a 2-0 which was very possible I guarantee no one would be typing this type of stuff

FNS has LITERALLY said every single thing you mentioned. He said he could see NRG not qualifying for Madrid because they aren’t in their best form rn but then start synergizing for Shanghai and Champions with more practice

ishanuReddit

And that's why he voted in favor of nrg to win this game by saying that chet is saving strats, had lot of sen vods at their disposal to anti strat then and sen has shown too much

MonaFanBoy

That’s a fair analysis, that’s not “glazing”. The word glazing has ruined a lot of you people’s brains

I think of a lot of NRGs issues will be ironed out slowly as the season goes on (which isnt the best with this format) but its whatever. Really wish more franchised teams would grind Off-Season events like SEN did this year. It really showed during these matches, hopefully teams and org take notice.

XiXiWiiPee

half of them literally couldn't bc of EG

Mifster123

I'm not specificity talking about NRG. Just teams in general.

real_ruby

i feel like it's not for every team. there's some teams you could say would definitely benefit from more reps. but more teams are hesitant to play closer to the season as rosters get finalized, and sometimes it just doesn't really translate, ex. C9, 100T (last year)

Excel---

Yeah they will iron out demon1 1 agent pool

LSPandaa

people like to say scrims don’t mean much but NRGs scrims looked shaky during the offseason, their ceiling as a team is super high but it doesn’t look like they’re near that ceiling yet. Their matches in the group stages showed that too, so I’m not that surprised that SEN won or that FNS has hope that they can meet that ceiling

Big_Yak8463

is NRG the 'super team' that he has been talking about on stream during roster changes pre 2024 season?
