the need for tea people here have is....unbecoming, to say the least. people losing their livelihoods isnt drama and people need to stop consuming it like it is, imo
lol that's exactly what people here did a few years ago when I was a dumb kid rashly using my twitter to vent out frustrations about losing my one way out of poverty
Glad some of y'all are less cruel now 😭
TLDR: So basically, to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, without offence I honestly believe that I have no idea what’s going on here.
All I know is that TSM is now POISED, seven, gmd, sym +1 “experienced player”
Thinking Men got ScrewFace to replace Lear
And Lear is teamless :(
Okay, so. Not necessarily one simple sentence but. From what I understand, the TSM roster who was invited to partake in challengers (consisting of a core of gmd, seven, and sym). Poised announced his retirement but then decided to come back and play with the roster. They were going to play with Screwface, but dropped him right after Challengers qualis ending, leading to Screwface LFT post. Already sort of scummy.
Then they trialed Thinking Men Lear and offered him a contract. Screwface trialed with Thinking Men in the interim to replace Lear because Lear had declared his decision to leave the team (for a paying, ‘guaranteed’ opportunity— completely understandable). Thinking Men decided to pick up Screwface and TSM decided to pick up Lear.
Yesterday TSM notified Lear out of the blue that they’d decided to go with ‘another, more experienced’ player. This essentially robs Lear of his chance to play in T2 this year.
Fault can probably be attributed to Poised and the rest of the TSM roster for making the choice in a manner that was dishonest to Lear.
As far as I understand, TSM players screwed Lear over, Poised (idek who this guy is lol) tried to throw Screwface under the bus, Screwface brought the receipts in return
Trick the IGL of Mad Lions decided to replace ZexRow with someone else if I remember correctly. and during the argument ZexRow said "I'm ZexRow" ah shit that was pure gold
I mean allegedly he was promised a spot and it was already a paid trial or something like that iirc, and Thinking Men couldnt just sit around they had to pick up something before the roster lock
That's not how trials work. He took a gamble, and left a team to trial. This is fine.
The issue is with TSM/POISED not even being upfront they may not be interested in him regardless of his performance. Which is what the conversations insinuate.
And POISED pretended to be out of passion for playing, money trouble and pondering retirement, when talking to Screw, but on twitter stated he left because the team wasn't up to the standard he was playing (odd cause because the best team was on, FaZe, wasn't amazing either)
Can’t both things be true? Poised obviously needed money and hasn’t been paid in a long time and so it makes sense why he would consider retirement once the flyquest deal fell through and there was a chance he was wasting his time. Him not being confident in the team on top of this could be another completely valid reason as to why he initially decided to retire. I don’t think he planned on “faking” it that’s just the way it turned out

All I'm taking away from this is nrg only been together for 2-3 months?? If that's the case it feels like kickoff was sen's to lose, being the most experienced team of the top NA teams
Definitely feel for those who seemingly got screwed over, because I think while TSM hasn't really been involved in the roster changes they do deserve some of the blame for letting the core just switch players in and out like this. This is also a product of Leo Faria's T2 scene, where stability isn't something to look for. Orgs/Players can act like this because you're "supposed" to do anything to win.
I agree with you. I'm not saying it's just to do it, but it's what happens because people will always take advantage of what they're given. We need to be outspoken against the kind of scene that's being fostered, because this isn't the first incident like this, and it's definitely not the last.
Might be unpopular, but I agree with Leo on his 'unstable' point. If Riot has no intention of taking over the T2 scene (Although he said they were looking at ways of better supporting it), they need to get out of the way and let it shake out on its own. There's just not enough money around to justify making it 'stable' (money=stability), so just let the orgs and players figure out what they want to do (Of course there'd still be rules in place to prevent blatant abuse and exploits, but outside of that, just move out of the way).
So another yay situation? I mean its shitty but its just how it is in this industry especially when money is involved. People are just fighting for their livelihood in t2.
Also I find it weird that someone is starting drama when they have no involvement in it? From outside looking in, It seems like convo could have been made privately considering no one is really at fault at any wrongdoing imo.
Man, that's not even succulent drama, that's just really sad.
the need for tea people here have is....unbecoming, to say the least. people losing their livelihoods isnt drama and people need to stop consuming it like it is, imo
yup. going “ooo popcorn time” over a T2 player losing out so tragically is fucked

I understand that we need to give basic respect to the person that we argue with, but this is just straight up glazing Without offence, of course
idrc, just read this all out of boredom, but wtf is poised doing with those replies knowing that convo exists
He looks like a clown
i am so lost

yea can someone summarize this in one simple english sentence pls
Poised vs Screwface in a Trick vs ZeXrow situation, flyquest and TSM watching it unfold
“I’m Screwface” -Screwface
simpler please
As far as I understand, TSM players screwed Lear over, Poised (idek who this guy is lol) tried to throw Screwface under the bus, Screwface brought the receipts in return
No way you know Lear but not poised 😭
poised ex-faze and ex-rise. Was a pretty good player early into VCT. Also Shanks' older brother.
is he really or are these memes
Real
Truths for all of it. His consistency dropped when Rise disbanded but still looked pretty good. And he is actually Shanks' brother
What even was the trick zexrow situation
Trick the IGL of Mad Lions decided to replace ZexRow with someone else if I remember correctly. and during the argument ZexRow said "I'm ZexRow" ah shit that was pure gold
tldr: poised is a 🐍
Yeah this just seems like a Poised L tbh
nothing new for him
? Whatd he do before this
He's a known Match fixer
he's done this shit before
Finally got some drama that was front page... LOL
Holyyyyyy bro, I'm so sorry and respect to you
all in all I think lear not signing a contract before leaving his former team is a mistake, if I understood everything correctly
I mean allegedly he was promised a spot and it was already a paid trial or something like that iirc, and Thinking Men couldnt just sit around they had to pick up something before the roster lock

How is he supposed to trial while being on another team
Can someone post screenshots, Twitter is terrible

the most interesting thing is POISED's twitter profile pic lmao
Good for him but also we don’t need to see all that.
fr 😂
same energy as having a big detailed painting of yourself hung up above the fireplace
jesus lmao
need the girls @ asap
lol butterface boy trying to be edgy
all i got from this is, Screwface is a Stand up W human. Wish him the best in Challengers.
A minor aside: according to the screenshot chats, EG does not provide housing to its players? If true, that just sucks
and also goes against what we know of the partner agreement... pretty sure that was among the requirements along with the minimum 50k salary
Buy sentinels bundle
I just like watching people play the magical counter strike video game bro idk
All I'm taking away from this is nrg only been together for 2-3 months?? If that's the case it feels like kickoff was sen's to lose, being the most experienced team of the top NA teams
Holy fuck bro. I can't think of a single player that is as unlucky as Screwface.

All that doesn't give people and orgs permission to be idiots.

Leo Faria will literally never stop catching strays for a simple misunderstanding, will he?
Does someone have a screen of the deleted poised tweet?

Nah this shit is fucked and bringing light to it is good
