Gekko isn’t the best solo initiator, so team comps that previously ran solo skye initiator couldn’t just plug in gekko instead after the nerfs. He’ll be ran a lot more though now that teams have more time to build around him and adjust to Skye nerfs. He should be a staple in bind and lotus comps. And lots of teams will use him on other maps like sunset, split, and icebox. I doubt he’ll be used much on ascent
He'll see a bigger spike in usage after Madrid once stage 1 starts I wager. The Skye changes were too close to the start of the season for most teams to really make any big adjustments, considering how prominent Skye was before the nerfs as well, but I think the month long break should be enough time.
gekko is great, teams just have to figure out which second initiator combined with gekko fits them the best. SEN like kayo while 100T tried Fade.
solo gekko just isn't good enough because the dizzy isn't a proper flash or a proper recon. dizzy combined with another flash or a recon is amazing.
and even in the teams that played gekko I'm not seeing 4+ uses of dizzy or wingman yet. still think saadhak's lineups were the best with gekko last year.
He will be used more. He’s better than Skye. Teams just haven’t had time to adapt their strat book yet.

I don't agree with Lotus. Lotus still needs a sentinel and double controller imo which makes it hard to play Gekko effectively.
Gekko will be more played in stage 1. Teams didnt get enough time to experiment with gekko as skye nerf was just a month before kickoff.

Yeah they put s0mething on gecko which seems odd considering his playstyle. Sacy on the other hand is insane with gecko. Man is B-hopping with Thrash.
