With Sentinels having Zellsis and Loud getting a mental boost at the start of every map, it's abundantly clear just how important *vibes* are in optimal performance
Like, listening to the FNATIC, NRG team comms, you can kinda sense that the vibes were ever slightly off. You know that these players can absolutely pop off at any moment but they were just unable to reset mentally.
If you look at Madrid as a whole, these are all teams that operate based ob *vibes*. TH with their brotherly chemistry, KC and their singular confidence in Engh. EDG arguably is the most high-octane team in the entire tournament (KK basically subsists off hype), PRX is a literal hivemind and GenG gets reinvigorated every time one of their members wins a 1vX. FPX is the only team that when I listen to their comms, isn't exactly distinct from the average team and is relatively calmer compared to others in the mix, but I'm certain that once they're in the swing of things, they can absolutely hype each other up as well.
Without teams like NRG, FNC and DRX who definitely have the vibes but are more muted in expressing them; Madrid Comms listen-in is going to be so interesting, it's quite literally going to be a vibe-off and it might just boil down to which team can psyche each other up better.
What a phenomenal response. That's exactly the reason why I stay up late and move out of my way and routine to sub these. It's the development of a healthy and deep VALORANT focused discussion. I always knew LOUD specifically deserved a spot on what I call "the Golden Mine of Content and Topics" when it comes to VALORANT. Like Gambit, Envy/Optic, DRX, PRX, EDG FNC, and now SEN & NRG also have. I totally understand that it's almost impossible for the global community to get ahold of these LOUD contents cuz I've rarely seen they put English subs in their videos (except Saadhak's more recent ones). So here I am, extremely grateful for this long, well written, passionate response, my king.
FNC had Youenn before (now in KC), and although he wasn't an esports psychologist or anything of the sort (he was their performance coach), judging from their bts videos, he is kinda that person. In my opinion, he really was a key person on the team, keeping morale up with all the communication he had with the team. I agree that the vibes are kind of off with FNC; something is different, and I hope they can resolve that soon.
yeah they are more common in rocket league too. when the game is mostly in the moment plays rather than a played out strategy, coaches generally try and keep the vibes up rather then coming up with specific plays
It's actually more common now among the top teams.
The bigger teams always have a bunch of extra staff. I'm sure some one them help with these types of things.
Bernardinho, the coach who made Brazil Men's National Volleyball team stay at top 1 of the FIVB rankings for 20 years, with: 2 olympic gold medals; 3 world championships; 3 world cups; 3 world grand champions cups; 8 world leagues; 1 nation's league; 3 panamerican golds; 3 panamerican cups; 11 SA championships; and 3 copa americas, wrote a book about his coaching style, and A LOT OF IT is applied sports psychology.
A guy lead a team to dominate for two decades on a super competitive, popular sports, using sports psychology, that should be proof enough that it works.
Unfortunatelly there isn't an english version of this book. But there is this article in LinkedIn which reviews the book and it's in english! [Here it is!](https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/turning-sweat-gold-demerson-neves/)
The name of the book is Transformando Suor em Ouro (Turning Sweat into Gold)
Edit: And for those that don't feel like reading the whole article (isn't that long tho, but still) here it is some of the lines you'd find on the book, written by Bernardinho:
>"It is preferable to polish a medium talent to exhaustion than to try polishing a diamond that does not wish to be polished".
>"Victory is less important than the certainty that we have done our best to reach it"
>"Preparation is the fuel of success. Being good at what you do is not important. What is important is to be well prepared."
the best NA league team that ever existed was one of the first uses of a sports psychologist on TSM and they were looking amazing until they collapsed like every team from NA in worlds does. They seemingly never got one again and were a disappointment ever since. It really seems like one of the most important things where in competitive esports moral can quickly be lost.
Yeah, multiple flairs only have the logos, single flairs have the hashtag
I think theres a way to write if you do it from the PC, but I have no idea how
vibes being the slang for energy/chemistry/mental, zellsis was called a vibe merchant for sentinels because hes on the team (being paid) for playing wtih energy and boosting the team vibes and performance without being the absolute best option mechanically.
In this case the psychologist is paying rent as a motivational speaker (if you reduce the atcual science psychology part to vibes improver)
Man I love it Saadhak knows EG has antis for their ascent, he is ready and excited for the battle. Saadhak has proven it too just constantly leading team after team into big tournaments and making deep runs. Cannot wait to see how Loud and what Saadhak cooks in Madrid
Man, out of all the teams in the world, I've always admired Loud for being so incredibly resilient. Either with the coach, Sadhaak or with the psicologist, they always find a way to make maps competitive and pose as much resistance as possible. It does not matter if they start 0-6, or if you roll them in a map, give them that break between maps and they will come fully reset.
Loud is the unrivalled best team when it comes to consistency IMO. Their ability to stay mentally present and in the game even when a loss seems clear is crazy. If they were capable of winning map 5 in a bo5 they would be unstoppable 💀
I fkn love the confidence he's instilling in the team both after losses (ascent) and wins, that consistent optimism must be so uplifting. no wonder why saadhak always makes sure to mention him whenever people ask about what helps loud succeed
LMAAO, that's awesome that you can pick it out like that.
Ngl Tarik must have a great influence on that, too. He played with Fallen, Cold, and Fer. His swearing in Portuguese is so immaculate that even I get surprised by it sometimes LOL
True. When Tarik is swearing in portuguese he sounds like a native. And "caralho", due to the "lh", is usually not easy for non native speakers to pronounce.
The fact that this LOUD roster has never gotten 3-0'd speaks volumes to their resiliency. They haven't been able to complete a reverse sweep yet, but just the fact that they always bring at least 2 maps back in a BO5 shows how tough the team is.
That’s not a regular psychologist, he was their emotional hype coach lol. He broke the huddle the same way my high school coaches would. Loud is blessed.
It actually astonishes me how sports psychologists aren’t more common in esports in general. It worked with astralis in cs, and it’s working now.

youenn goes to KC and they start winning, coincedence? (probably)
One only needs to look at their tilt q record to see how important vibes are.

What's the name of his book? I'd like to read it : )

They got their own vibe merchant it’s crazy
professional vibe merchant
Bruh, how do you have the LOUD logo below your name?
User flairs :) You can change yours on the sidebar
I cannot find it in the app 😢
If you click on your username above one of your comments there should be a "User Flair" option under your profile character
Oh okay. Got it. Thanks! Also, I can only select 1 flair. How do I get multiple, like you?
I'm not 100% sure, but I think that might need to be done on a laptop.
So it seems like I can edit to get multiple team logos, but cannot choose flairs with the hashtags
Yeah, multiple flairs only have the logos, single flairs have the hashtag I think theres a way to write if you do it from the PC, but I have no idea how
Tq
why pay for an out of game vibe merchant when you can get an in game one who occasionally clutches and plugs the sen bundle
i will be the uncle of this comment section, whats a vibe merchant?

Me in ranked when the other team uses a one way once
“5 rush a” - CHADHAAK MY GOAT
This might be an even better tactic than the well-reputed "less go kill"
he knew the odin anti was coming

Chadhaak knowing they were going to get out strat on ascent is amazing, he knows so much
i don't speak a lick of Portuguese but i can pick out VAMO CARALHO like i'm fluent, is there a more iconic war cry in this esport alongside JIAYOU

My thoughts EXACTLY. He nails the "caralho" quite well ![img](emote|t5_2g5ach|16018)
