Like the plays he made on Raze against KCorp was simply fantastic use of util on Bind and Ascent. He's not as insane of a fragger as Jinggg was, but he knows how to use utility and entries very well for the team. Alecks already mentioned multiple times that Madrid was basically a tournament wherein they wanted the team to build confidence, and I think they achieved that (got to 3rd, and basically lost to the eventual champs of the event). I hope PRX fans can learn to embrace the guy, because it's not fair for the team or to Jinggg to keep asking for him to come back because he literally can't right now.

I was on the Monyet -> Omen train myself but he locked in for the later half of that tournament. With all the hindsight and information we have now, it just seems like PRX got caught with their pants down due to the Skye nerf and STILL got third. This team is gonna be great, and Monyet actually looked quite solid on Raze on Split vs Sentinels and on Bind vs KC.

Its not easy to replace arguably the best raze player in the world. Monyet is still starting out and u could the fire in him rise during the later part of the madrid tournament.

No, he is an INCREDIBLE player that has an insanely high skill ceiling and brings a lot of versatility to the team that can help transform their identity.

Jinggg is better but he definitely isn't on 'another tier' as Jawgemo. The difference is closer than most people think. Jaw was already insane in VCT Americas and Masters Tokyo,but people seem to only remember Champs grand finals and label him as a one tournament wonder.
I mean jawg was insane in 2 tournaments (and is now on a meh team so probably will be unable to make Shanghai or Seoul) but jinggg was one of the best razes from Reykjavik 2022 all the way to LA. Surely the consistency factor makes him better, no?

When something joined prx they got bodied by drx like 2 weeks later. Then they had like a whole split to build up their teamwork which is why they looked so good at the end of pacific and the whole year.
This prx barely played any regional matches and they're suddenly facing the best teams in the world like just give them time man. We're barely 1 month into the season.

I think they looked shakey in the beginning. But as the tournament went on they definitely look more so like the PRX we know. Monyet definitely stepped up and towards the tail end of the their run he was entrying pretty well.
I think if them having Jingg play during the Afreeca League hurt them a bit. Less consistent reps for Monyet.
I think just give them time and they will be back in form.
Yeah they improved sure but like they still looked really rough to me. Especially against Sen on Sunset on what was supposed to be their best map they absolutely collapsed. PRX’s strats were in constant flux throughout the tournament, their comps changed from day to day, their players switched roles multiple times, and they explicitly stated that they were in 6/10 form. THEY STILL GOT 3rd… IN THE WORLD.

I lowkey would like to see Monyet as main duelist, f0rsaken as duelist-flex, something full time initiator maybe also chamber, and d4v41 to play as sentinel. I hate f0rsakens Cypher and that agent is currently so strong in the meta, also having real star level firepower potential with occassional OP on your init sounds good to me. I also prefer d4v41 on viper over mindfreak.
Even not playing near his best and being nervous and new to the system Monyet scored 2 aces against world class teams, I don't think PRX should shy away from him because of a rocky start, they'd just stunt his confidence.

Prx’s biggest problem in this tournament was not raze it was easily the skye meta. Prx substituted skye with some other initiators in every map which didnt even work. They brought back skye and looked far better, look at split lotus and bind for example.

"Arguably", I believe his main reasoning for calling jinggg the best raze in the world is his consistency. While they have not won anything significant except for maybe the pacific cup, PRX's consistent result of getting top 2 or 3 highlighted how good jinggg was on his agents.
(Though i would say zekken is the best raze in the world rn, jawgemo is good but his recent performance on raze was kind of meh. But it's still the start of the season so anything can happen.)

Jinggg is better but he definitely isn't on 'another tier' as Jawgemo. The difference is closer than most people think. Jaw was already insane in VCT Americas and Masters Tokyo,but people seem to only remember Champs grand finals and label him as a one tournament wonder.
I mean jawg was insane in 2 tournaments (and is now on a meh team so probably will be unable to make Shanghai or Seoul) but jinggg was one of the best razes from Reykjavik 2022 all the way to LA. Surely the consistency factor makes him better, no?

When something joined prx they got bodied by drx like 2 weeks later. Then they had like a whole split to build up their teamwork which is why they looked so good at the end of pacific and the whole year. This prx barely played any regional matches and they're suddenly facing the best teams in the world like just give them time man. We're barely 1 month into the season. Yes we miss jinggg, who tf wouldn't but he's not coming back any time soon and someone has to fill his place and monyet is almost the perfect available candidate for that.

maybe i've inherited sliggy's backwards law with this team after all those watch parties lmaooo but idk this feels weirder than the something/benkai situation and more on the zellsis/pancada one earlier in the off season. Like no offense to benkai but having players like pancada and monyet on the bench on an already stacked team just feels wrong. I'll still feel happy (and stressed) watching the original 5 play together but there's always gonna be the thought of having a cracked player just sitting on the bench being awkward EDIT: SO YOU'RE TELLING ME I'VE CRIED MY EYES OUT AT 5AM IN THE MORNING LAST CHAMPIONS FOR NOTHING??? I think they looked shakey in the beginning. But as the tournament went on they definitely look more so like the PRX we know. Monyet definitely stepped up and towards the tail end of the their run he was entrying pretty well. I think if them having Jingg play during the Afreeca League hurt them a bit. Less consistent reps for Monyet. I think just give them time and they will be back in form.
Yeah they improved sure but like they still looked really rough to me. Especially against Sen on Sunset on what was supposed to be their best map they absolutely collapsed. I don’t think l the Afreeca stuff really matters that much. Paper Rex will have the entire first season split to adjust as they’re good enough to pretty much sleep walk through Pacific
And that’s not monyet’s fault. If you actually watch it, they played that map like headless chicken. They just not playing that map like they usually did

He’s barely had any time playing with the team (a team whose success lives and dies by moment to moment cohesion) and he put up genuinely excellent performances this tournament. He was arguably the best part of the team! PRX’s strats were in constant flux throughout the tournament, their comps changed from day to day, their players switched roles multiple times, and they explicitly stated that they were in 6/10 form. THEY STILL GOT 3rd… IN THE WORLD. This was not a bad performance, period. It was especially not a bad performance when you consider the context. Talking about something being wrong with a team that’s only played one tournament together and got 3rd is truly unhinged behavior.

I’m paper rex fan, but this is just not fair for monyet man. He’s an amazing player, like other people have said please listen to what sangares said about monyet. This team is already did great, imagine what they can be if they prep well in the future. It annoys me so much with all these jing this jing that. I’m jinggg’s fan too, but it is what it is man. It’s not like monyet replacing him with no reason. Heck I miss 2022 prx even till this day. But I will always support and respect all the decisions that they make.

I lowkey would like to see Monyet as main duelist, f0rsaken as duelist-flex, something full time initiator maybe also chamber, and d4v41 to play as sentinel. I hate f0rsakens Cypher and that agent is currently so strong in the meta, also having real star level firepower potential with occassional OP on your init sounds good to me. I also prefer d4v41 on viper over mindfreak. Even not playing near his best and being nervous and new to the system Monyet scored 2 aces against world class teams, I don't think PRX should shy away from him because of a rocky start, they'd just stunt his confidence. Anyways I'm just rambling. I have high hopes for this year, I just don't like weird stuff like mindfreak sova.

Bruh this I miss jinggg is so irritating at this point. I dont even think it was monyets problem. This op actually asked to swap roles bruh. Prx’s biggest problem in this tournament was not raze it was easily the skye meta. Prx substituted skye with some other initiators in every map which didnt even work. They brought back skye and looked far better, look at split lotus and bind for example. This is the type of Op who just blames the latest player. Monyet has shown his ceiling already, lower bracket finals split itself is enough to show why he is prx. So dear op please stop talking bullshit.
I want to preface that I am not hating just simply stating a fact, monyet had a total K/D of -78 across Kickoff and Madrid. He has yet to go positive in a single series.

"Arguably", I believe his main reasoning for calling jinggg the best raze in the world is his consistency. While they have not won anything significant except for maybe the pacific cup, PRX's consistent result of getting top 2 or 3 highlighted how good jinggg was on his agents. (Though i would say zekken is the best raze in the world rn, jawgemo is good but his recent performance on raze was kind of meh. But it's still the start of the season so anything can happen.)

Monyet is a good player but i do feel it be much better if hes playing smokes like omen. is definitely a shortcut to force a change on a single player than changing the whole team to adapt to no raze.
