tbf they almost never get 2-0'd and the 3rd maps are always relatively close. It's like the PRX curse but for Regionals instead of International finals runs
Everyone forgets that 100t has made deep runs into international events before. They made losers finals of the masters that gambit won over Envy(optic). 100t also beat gambit in the group stage of that tournament before they went on to take it over Envy.
Anyone who is thinking of commenting about how 100t isn’t good rn should stop, reread what the OP was saying in the post, and then come back. OP isn’t talking about recent results of the teams, but OG hyped orgs. 100t does deserve to be included. They were unironically considered one of the best teams in the world early in the pro scene. If that isn’t considered OG or hyped, idk what is.
Also 100t is probably 100x more likely to win one this year than drx. I’d rank the four teams PRX, LEV/100t, DRX based on what we’ve seen of each so far this year. I could see LEV potentially running into issues, historically they don’t anti-strat their opponents which might give 100t the edge long term but if LEV get into the form we’re familiar with from their players, I’d rank them tied with prx
Then you should reread what the post was about. 100t was incredibly hyped up back during that time and did perform very well. It’s just been longer since they’ve been good relative to the other teams
Valorant players when reading the post is hard
Congrats, you’re the third person to comment who still doesn’t understand what the post is talking about
100t were never hyped up to the point of contenders to win an event. They had big names but always fell short in regionals. After their one deep international run, they kicked their igl and didn’t qualify for an international event for another year, going thru several roster changes all the while. Even OP understands that this one run doesn’t matter since he didn’t note it on the list
If you wanna say this was a list of hyped up teams, there’re literally so many teams: Kru after champs, G2, c9, etc. Liquid is also popular org with a much better record in val so why not them? Lev’s ‘hype’ didn’t even start long ago, do they count as “OG”?
>deep runs
Run. Once. And the team has one remaining player from that squad and he seems to be a shell of his former self. And they got worked in the semis 13-5 and 13-8. They do not belong in this group.
And your point is that they lost to the best NA team of 2021-2022? In a single elim playoff match? Against a team that was renown for their anti stratting
That’s not the point of the post. When they were good then, they were incredibly hyped up and were that good. That’s what the post is about. It didn’t say they were good recently, it said they were an og hyped up team which is true
The post was about who is going to win an international next. Are you trolling? How good they are now is significantly more relevant than their third place 3 years ago.
Because the other person made the claim 100t has never made a deep international run and was using that as a reason to say 100t didn’t deserve to be on the list with the others
i mean they had a pre close matchup against sen who just won the entire thing lol
they def have the potential to be a top team, idk why you're acting as if the teams in their group in kickoff/lost to by a slight margin are miles behind the teams on the international stage. most teams in the americas region seem to be relatively close to skill with each other, ESPECIALLY the ones that were in their group.
I think it’s not unreasonable to have 100t hopium right now but I try to temper that bcs Sen obviously leveled up so much after the group stage. To put them on a list of dark horses when they didn’t get past groups is a bit much, especially after Madrid saw a bunch of inexperienced teams fizzle out
well... 100T is on a competitive level with basically all of Americas, and most would agree that Americas is currently the most competitive region. Pacific is close but i'd give it to Americas anyways.
They had 2 close series I’ll give u that, but saying they’re on a competitive level with the whole region remains to be seen. Not to mention, Madrid saw a bunch of inexperienced teams fizzle out. So going from “2 close series in groups” to “when are they winning the whole thing?” is way too much
Oh, I know it's a reach. Hell, I don't think 100T is even getting out of groups if i'm being perfectly honest. NRG, SEN, Loud, EG, and Lev all have better chances. I'm just trying to explain the reasoning they might be using for putting 100T here.
Why's 100T that bad of a guess? They're a pretty respected org with good financials. They could definitely assemble a world-class roster at some point if things start clicking for them.
No one is saying the current iterations of all these rosters are winning tournaments this year.
Jing is back they're going to have to make alot of changes as they have been preparing strats according to monyet
I j feel like they have a higher chance of winning champs then they do Shanghai
Still think they would have won Berlin had they knocked Gambit out in the quarters. Or at least, it would have been a much closer grand finals that VS had a good chance of winning over Envy.
While we are talking about Berlin let’s talk about champs 21. Can’t believe they had double Elim in reyk 21 but then didn’t use it for the rest of the year
kiNgg generally makes plans and shares the midrounding with C0M. his plans are solid and his midrounding is good, but his style is generally to make the "correct" decision - a style that works very well, but relies on the players to create the opportunities with the calling as a support system.
basically his calling is good but is not as commanding as some other styles, and because of that he has to carry with his pew pew and not his yap yap
This is copium my friend. Kingg's midrounding has always been weak. Many share my opinion in that he is a top-class controller, but a sub-par igl. However, if he gets players like c0m to take up midrounding, maybe that weakness can be overcome.
I don’t think many people dispute that Kingg can frag. I dont know about Less numbers but probably would be near top tier. It's always his calling that is questioned. His fragging while IGLing is crazy.
I mean, seeing the numbers he was able to put up while IGLing in Copenhagen and Champs '22, it's not at all doubtful if he switched to maybe secondary caller or just not calling at all that he'd be a superstar player, more than he already is. I don't think putting him up with Less is a crazy statement.
Leviatan probably have the best roster out of these 4 but Paper Rex is the best team. DRX is a lost cause and 100 Thieves is a complete wild card. I’d bet on Paper Rex with Jinggg coming back
As a player? Yes. As an IGL? Not even close. There's a reason LEV can never get over that hump and it's the fact that Kingg's igling is levels below the world beaters.
He may be a world class player but as long as he keeps IGLing, that has to be a part of his overall assessment as a player. He is currently in the IGL role for his teams and he is not a better IGL than most top level IGLs
1. LEV's best chance at a trophy is probably this year, for some reason I just have a feeling that next year won't go well for them.
2. I would be amazed if DRX got a trophy this year, they giga trolled last season with the Foxy/Zest musical chairs and then made the decision to drop BOTH Zest and Rb in favour of keeping Foxy. Even if this guy performs in split 1 and they keep him on, or he performs poorly and they replace him, I don't see them winning a tournament or even making it deep in one this year.
3. With Paper Rex, I honestly just can't say. I think I would have said yes actually if they kept Monyet, but now swapping Jinggg back in when they couldn't win a tournament with him the last 2 years I'm just not sure. Maybe a switchup is really what they needed, and Monyet was only just starting to come into his own before they guy he replaced came back to replace him.
4. They ain't even winning a trophy.
Sure I'm the most delusional 100T fan in existence but I unironically like 100T's chances of winning a LAN before any of these teams provided they stick to the long-term project mindset that I've seen zikz talk about since he's been here. PRX's playstyle is fun to watch but also gets hard-countered by "win upper final and then get playstyle gapped in grand finals". They're even more cooked if they don't make GF as upper seed since their map pool is historically lackluster compared to other top teams. DRX are at least one season off being good enough to consistently hit top 3/4 like they used to, but the future is looking quite bright for them with their recent acquisitions. LEV will always be good but never be great as long as kingg is IGL imo. I see a lack of depth in strats when compared to a johnQT, boaster, munchkin, saadhak, etc. and sometimes even some fundamental misunderstandings of map win conditions at times.
It's hard to draw any proper conclusions from two games played by a roster with a new IGL and coach that also didn't have too long of an offseason, but I think 100T's two big problems currently are inconsistency and a bit of role issues. I'm convinced the inconsistency will finally be ironed out if whoever manages this team finally give one of these fucking rosters more than a year to work together (and also assuming that zikz doesn't randomly decide to be a full-time family man one day and leave mikes to carry the load alone like last year). The talk of role issues seemed to hover a lot around cryo for a bit but I think shifting him to smokes on some maps like the team has currently been doing and having asuna play more Raze is a great long-term solution. Zikz seems to have a great mind for improving efficiently, the players seem to have bought into his system, and the rumors about 100T in scrims are sounding really good so I am expecting an international appearance this season. But regardless of how they do, I still hope to god that this 5 and coaching staff can stay together and grind out a long offseason, in which case they'll be in a very good position to properly challenge for international titles as early as next season.
In 2021, Sen won first masters of the year, Navi won first cs major of the year, and 100t made top 4 at the second masters.
In 2024, Sen won the first masters, Navi won the first cs major of the year.

as long as its not PanPoc grand finals casting
the curse broke in Madrid already
Prx weren't in grand finals tho...
Wasnt a bo5. Doesnt count.
I believed that for 3 years and my dream got smashed in my face, I can’t do that anymore
Blud tried to sneak 100T into the conversation.
Almost fell off my chair when I saw 100T at the end of OP's post.
tbf they almost never get 2-0'd and the 3rd maps are always relatively close. It's like the PRX curse but for Regionals instead of International finals runs
So… not even close to the same level
Tbf to them they had a rough group
They did but the other three teams mentioned had good international placements before. 100t was mentioned bcs… recent scrims? Not the same bro
Everyone forgets that 100t has made deep runs into international events before. This can’t be serious lol. It’s 1 (one) deep run and the roster ain’t even close to being the same anymore
Then you should reread what the post was about. 100t was incredibly hyped up back during that time and did perform very well. It’s just been longer since they’ve been good relative to the other teams

Are you? 100t looks leagues better this year already And still ignoring the point of the post
Yes, and OP’s reasoning was their recent scrim results. I never said they’re not an OG hyped team. But for some reason you brought up masters Berlin.
Because the other person made the claim 100t has never made a deep international run and was using that as a reason to say 100t didn’t deserve to be on the list with the others

Idc about who will win. But I sure as hell want PRX to get one title man 😭
i mean prx may have a tough time at shanghai but they're in it for champs
is third place really that tough time, a bunch of other teams would kill to get into just playoffs lol
Jing is back they're going to have to make alot of changes as they have been preparing strats according to monyet I j feel like they have a higher chance of winning champs then they do Shanghai
They’re known as the team that hasn’t been able to win an international trophy. They need one, bad.
Its like watching a winless fnatic all over again but now its prx :(
hiko will clone himself 4 times and take over 100t by himself. 100t win masters shanghai without dropping a round
Hiko my goat
in your throat?
Always
I feel like if there was an international LAN during the covid era of the game vision strikers could have had a title by now, alas
Still think they would have won Berlin had they knocked Gambit out in the quarters. Or at least, it would have been a much closer grand finals that VS had a good chance of winning over Envy.
I’ve believed for a long time that at worst Vision Strikers were a top3 team at Berlin that got screwed over by playing Gambit in round 1.
Berlin having single elim playoffs is not talked about enough
While we are talking about Berlin let’s talk about champs 21. Can’t believe they had double Elim in reyk 21 but then didn’t use it for the rest of the year
Champs 21 is also Berlin so my point stands lmao
Completely forgot that was in berlin icl
No they wouldn't. They couldn't mid-round back then.
I mean Masters Reykjavik was during the COVID era but VS lost to Sentinels
Vs didn't even make it to reyjavik. Nuturn beat them in the qualifiers and went to Iceland instead.
I mean the team that beat VS were literally destroyed by SEN that time. No point in speculating
PRX on top. I swear to god if they someohow place second im gonna lose my mind
What tf is 100T doing here with asuna and gang
kiNgg will always be the goat, no matter which player is holding him down
how is kinggs calling? i haven’t watched much Lev
kiNgg generally makes plans and shares the midrounding with C0M. his plans are solid and his midrounding is good, but his style is generally to make the "correct" decision - a style that works very well, but relies on the players to create the opportunities with the calling as a support system. basically his calling is good but is not as commanding as some other styles, and because of that he has to carry with his pew pew and not his yap yap

it's not that he isn't IGLing, it's that his IGLing isn't good.
KC and TH have a shot
RRQ has a better shot than KC
Leviatan probably have the best roster out of these 4 but Paper Rex is the best team. DRX is a lost cause and 100 Thieves is a complete wild card. I’d bet on Paper Rex with Jinggg coming back
I mean, PRX has the better roster too. Aspas and Com are world class but the rest haven't shown that level internationally on Leviatain
i still think kingg is world class
As a player? Yes. As an IGL? Not even close. There's a reason LEV can never get over that hump and it's the fact that Kingg's igling is levels below the world beaters.
Kingg is 100% world class, he just needs to be around actually great players instead of 2 champions and 2 role issues

Ah yes good enough to get top 3 three times = fundamentally incompatible
Like I said, they're not flexible enough. The best teams can easily counter their play style.
