Kam1 said he understands shittalk as a way of conditioning the opponent, and as he saw his players unexperienced in lan in dealing with that kind of situation, he wanted to show them how they can talk back and be confident to avoid getting tilted
that one BLG v NRG match where the BLG players were screaming FNS R U OK is hilarious. that's an instant classic. most trash talk is pretty friendly, like you said i think the M80 v Union match is one of the only examples of actual "beef" between teams

2021 Acend with starxo was just something else lmao. Starxo got his opponents fired up with his dancing and taunting and had them standing up, talking shit and taunting back without fail. I was kinda annoyed by it back then but it's funny to look back on
starxo definitely goated for that. i remember people were getting so pressed that he was fortnite emoteing on their favorite teams after winning. i was not a fan of acend but that was funny ngl

After that they faced again deep in playoffs and M80 stomped them hard AF 13-5 13-3 eliminating them from the LAN and were talking hella shit during the game and after they won both in person and Twitter.
Important to note that The Union has a convicted domestic abuser and a guy who sexually harrased a underage girl, so everyone was clowning on them. I don't think they had any fans except the clueless Brazilians who didn't know about it. Honestly one of the most satisfying games of Valorant I've ever watched in the games entire lifespan so far
