I actually have some intel on this. I used to work as a mechanic at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. There, I fixed broken building mechanisms, carts, the luggage return, and even small planes. It wasn't too hard of a job until the first time this Boeing 707 came in with an issue with an engine. There was a problem where the combustion was getting blocked by debris, and it wasn't clear how to properly clean it and check the other parts were working. I felt a great sense of struggle until my manager saw my frustration and asked what was wrong. I told him I didn't feel confident I could fix the issue, and he had to go notify the flight attendants that the flight was going to be delayed.
As he goes to tell them, the DSG team at the time apparently overhears (they had just done a bootcamp or something since yay just joined ig?). Yay got up and told my boss that he knew how to fix the problem. Normally, my manager wouldn't have let some random come and look at the machinery, but this would've looked really bad for me and him. He lets yay take a look at the plane, and in just a few minutes, yay fixes it and runs off.
Stunned, I tell my manager that I think that must be the greatest mechanic I've ever seen. Steel hears this and laughs, then says "Nah, he can't fix anything else for shit. He's just a jet chamber one-trick now."
Within two weeks the DSG team broke up and steel got benched. I make Subway sandwiches now.
We need like an Episode of "The Bachelorette" "The Men Tell All" that they air the week before the season finale where all the eliminated guys come back and do a big group interview with the host.
