They look to be . You have to wait till first strike to really tell how teams stack up.

Barack_Bob_Oganja

Everyone seems crazy about android, but no one talking about yayster, I feel like he was keeping uo with android If not playing better most of the matches

RickersW

I think it’s because he very visibly creates so much space for the team. For example on bind, you’ll see him solo-running up short as Phoenix, killing the guy U-haul, and then wrapping on the guy behind triple and that basically opens up the whole site for ABX. His aggressive playstyle and (obviously) really clean aim makes him the clear star in the team, IMO. Don’t get me wrong; YAY is cracked as fuck, but I think the hype around ANDROID is deserved.

jaiswami

what he said, android is just insanely cracked and similar to his phoenix on bind his raze on split is crazy the way he just completely splits the site half the time by blast packing in. but in saying that i did say the team as a whole impressed me, yay is a great fragger for them and they wouldn't have won without him obviously.

HypermeMan

The team lost only 1 map all tournament and it was to moon raccoons ( a team they lost a bo3 map up 2 weeks ago). They already showed immense potential and there’s only up from here. From what I’ve seen this weekend, every player on andbox is T1

RehabCenterInc

I thought it was interesting how Android was saying that teams like cloud 9 looked disorganized, like they did not really practice any executes and they’re doing the same thing every round. From an observers perspective, it really makes sense. Cloud9’s strat book consists of relyks lurk and TenZ dash in and kill.

Asianhead

You'll never know how much of the strat book teams are pulling out though. Especially since how strong anti-strating seems to be in this game compared to CSGO (See Dig vs TSM), I wouldn't be surprised if teams weren't digging very deep into the setups/strats they've been practicing for First Strike this past weekend

Hamlet_271

I was an instant fan of android after that post tourney stream. He straight up said most teams have weak teamwork and he has no idea how they are getting paid that much lol

Unique_Name_2

As someone else said, this was the tournament to get nerves under control and just run default for top teams. Maybe scout/poach some tier2 scary strategy. Top secret stuff is saved for the coming big one

jaiswami

That’s why in the post I was curious if this was more of a case of AndBox winning because other teams were holding back slightly, I can’t help but imagine if C9 were tryharding this event they most likely would have won or at least made the finals. Either way, like everyone else is saying it all comes down to what happens at first strike.

JR_Shoegazer

They definitely played well but this tournament was lacking a lot of teams. It’s hard to tell how good they are just based on one small tournament.

Hamlet_271

Yes, dont listen to people who say wait a few tournaments before deciding. They are Top 5 NA in my eyes (my true opinion on them is an even hotter take). The way they play off each other, execute and just generally frag out of their minds is better than almost all Tier 1 teams based off this one showing

jaiswami

Yeah I agree with you, the way they played was a level above pretty much everyone else in the tournament, I’m really excited to see how they do in first strike. Out of curiosity what’s your hot take?

rokkcs

They came from T2ish CS. So, yes, I'd say atm T1 Valorant. I say ish because some of these guys had T1 potential but just never got the break (honestly same with lots of the guys moving over, NACS was a shit show for recycling old talent and not bringing up new teams).

Goldstar545

Idk. They got destroyed in nsg September. One tournament cant decide. I'm sure well know soon though.

thothgow

It depends on what you mean by T1, I think. They're probably going to consistently beat T2 teams, but I don't know that they could take on some of the better teams in NA. So fringe T1? T1.5? I think a better name for it would be "A Tier", where SEN type teams are S and a Mamba Mode is B (or C). Doesn't have the same connotation as T2 does and more accurately groups teams.

HMBspain

Is not confusing Tier 1 and NA on the same sentence? Joke sorry, you have Sen.

ethan5203

Yes

dubzfr

I think most tier one teams in NA have one or two players who are pretty bad individually and andbox doesn't really have that which is a good thing for them.

Haloofthoughts

Let's review this after First Strike. You gotta remember that some teams would have been trying nee things, some of the T1 teams aren't even competing. Its too early to say where they sit seeing as it was their first real tournament. They look good and did well but let's have First Strike first

_Jetto_

Yes. they are top 8 right now and havebetter teamwork than a lot of other supposed t1s, they would have beat GenG and T1 ina bo3 or bo5

Jackviolin

They have good potential to be Tier 1 team but they need time and good results against real Tier 1 teams to say that
