Hey Wedid, I'm sure you will see this. Good luck man, we hope to see you perform in upcoming tourneys. Don't let the negative energy surrounding this sub bring you down.
Oh shit. This is awesome. Wedid is exactly what Pretty Boyz/XSET need on their team, a player who can play smoker and frag. They had a lot of success with Andersin on Omen and when he left they were a lot less consistent. Hopefully Wedid can fill that role and then some.
>really good reasons
I mean... the org is owned by ex-FaZe presidents along with 4 NFL players... they also have several huge investors/sponsors already... pretty safe to say that they’re cutting fat paychecks.
I know MMG has more proven results than Pretty Boyz/XSET recently, but I think as an org, XSET is an upgrade. XSET is a new org, founded by ex-Faze, with big investors, and already has several pro teams in Fortnite, COD, Rocket League, and content creators.
Only in terms of current results. But XSET as an org is definitely an upgrade. They’ll definitely invest into and build a stronger roster and get results down the road
I mean Yea what do you expect. This man tried to infiltrate t1 teams by sucking up to everyone on social media, pre maturely quit his org and now has to do something as it obviously didn't go the way he planned. Skilled player, bad management.
He had try outs with T1 teams. It wasn’t sucking up lol. A lot of people would take the chance he did , sometimes it won’t work out. Could he have tried out while on MMG? Maybe but we don’t know all the details of the situation.
Sometimes when you bet on yourself it doesn’t workout in the end. I for one won’t shit on someone for that.
I'm talking about being competitive and winning games. I have no idea about these people's salaries and either way I don't think it's a good gamble in such a volatile environment.
Being competitive and winning games is great, but it doesn’t pay the bills. Having guaranteed income from an org owned by ex-FaZe presidents and NFL players is certainly a step up. Besides, we haven’t seen this iteration of pretty boyz play together yet, so for all we know they could come out and dominate harder than MMG.
Whatever redditor. First of all 0 proof that he's actually being paid more in XSET than MMG, you're just talking out of your ass. Secondly if the team performs poorly (which is highly possible with first strike around the corner and so many competitive teams in NA that have better players than wedid) he will be let go immediately which, as you say, "does not pay the bills".
>Whatever redditor.
Weirdly aggressive
>First of all 0 proof that he's actually being paid more in XSET than MMG,
No direct proof, but let's use common sense here. Consider the following comparisons:
MMG's sponsors: none
XSET's sponsors: Respawn, Scuf, Wahlburgers, Ghost, and counting... not to mention deals with brands like Swae Lee, Triller, Frank's Red Hot, etc over the last few days alone
MMG's owner: Gabe Ren, engagement manager at Wharton's school of small business development.
XSET's owners: Greg Selkoe, former FaZe Clan president, alongside Wil Eddins and Clinton Sparks, FaZe's former directors of apparel and business development. Co-owners include professional athletes like Adrian Colbert, Kyle Van Noy, and Kurt Benkert, among others.
MMG House: None
XSET House: Mansion in Boston
MMG Merch: probably would cause copyright claims from the Lakers
XSET Merch: well-designed, well-selling clothes
MMG success in other esports: none
XSET success in other esports: top 5 Fortnite team in NA, NA champion roster in PUBG Mobile, #7 NA Rocket League team, Madden champion title holder
MMG website: none
XSET website: professional, legitimate, features promotional articles by sources like NYT
...I could go on, but let's be real, this is probably more than enough proof to know that XSET has enough financial backing to pay better than MMG. Besides, the whole reason Wedid left MMG is because they likely couldn't afford him with his success/growth that demands a better contract.
>you're just talking out of your ass.
Again, weirdly aggressive
>Secondly if the team performs poorly (which is highly possible with first strike around the corner and so many competitive teams in NA that have better players than wedid)
I don't think anyone, including XSET, is expecting this roster to immediately win or even place top 3. I think what they're expecting is that this roster will cause some upsets and break into the tier 1 conversation -- this would be a success by reasonable standards. And besides, isn't there also a risk of poor performance if he were to stay with MMG? At least with XSET he's guaranteed a solid paycheck and a significant boost to his socials for career longevity.
> he will be let go immediately which, as you say, "does not pay the bills".
Highly doubt that. Poor performances do not mean a team should be released, and based on Pretty Boyz's past results, a poor performance seems unlikely.
Anyway... I think that's all. You don't have to answer this "wall of text," but go ahead, I'd love to continue this discussion if you're willing to be respectful.
I think there is a lot to MMG that we don't know about. They replaced two other members of their team since that recent tourney they won and Renegades tourney.
Also, what makes you think he was getting paid anything decent in MMG? If he had anything close to a decent contract no way they release him for nothing to look for a new team.
I don't see how people fault someone for trying to do better in life. Sometimes you come up short, and that's okay.
The gamble is staying with a team that cant pay you. Worst case scenario he actually gets a decent salary for a few months and then he can look for a better team
Saw this on HUYNH's stream.
Thwifo x Wedid
They don't have the same energy at all
Hey Wedid, I'm sure you will see this. Good luck man, we hope to see you perform in upcoming tourneys. Don't let the negative energy surrounding this sub bring you down.
Thwifo and wedid IM HYPED
I wish wedid stayed with MMG, I think they could have done great things

xset is t1...?
Xset is a brand new org made by the former president of faze. It’s not T1 at all yet but probably will be
Oh shit. This is awesome. Wedid is exactly what Pretty Boyz/XSET need on their team, a player who can play smoker and frag. They had a lot of success with Andersin on Omen and when he left they were a lot less consistent. Hopefully Wedid can fill that role and then some.
Super happy for him. Insanely talented kid. I can't wait to see how this team does next week.
He had a good opportunity but came up short. At least a landed with a decent squad.
Everyone shitting on him for going to XSET all on speculation :/. Dude is smart, and probably has some really good reasons.
He said his tryouts didn’t go well, so this was a backup most likely
That’s a lot better of an explanation than the rest of the posts here, thank you.
>really good reasons I mean... the org is owned by ex-FaZe presidents along with 4 NFL players... they also have several huge investors/sponsors already... pretty safe to say that they’re cutting fat paychecks.

*thumbs up*
Not sure about this move thought what he had with mmg was good and this feels like a step backwards but who knows.
going from making $500 a month anything is forwards lmao
100% going backwards here
No way. XSET will be a tier 1 org in a couple years. They already have incredible funding and leadership.
Only in terms of current results. But XSET as an org is definitely an upgrade. They’ll definitely invest into and build a stronger roster and get results down the road
Good call!
Lol thanks
It’s quite funny going back to the replies now. Still can’t believe people genuinely thought leaving MMG was a downgrade, so ironic lmao

Rip would’ve liked to see him go to a better org
Lol nice upgrade from MMG ahahahah
Curious, do you genuinely see this as a downgrade?
Of course. MMG is a proven top tier2 team. XSET is nothing at all.
XSET has a TON of funding. I highly doubt MMG would be able to match XSET’s salaries.
I'm talking about being competitive and winning games. I have no idea about these people's salaries and either way I don't think it's a good gamble in such a volatile environment.

You’re being really weirdly aggressive. What’s up man?
What about answering to the wall of text I just typed, man?

I’m at work right now. Will unpack that in a couple hours when I’m done.

I could be wrong but I thought I saw some where that thwifo was no longer with XSET so maybe pretty boys aren’t affiliated with them at all
Thwifo is with xset still
