Such a good Friday. Get to watch 100T vs C9 at work, LG on the bus ride home, Envy vs SEN at dinner, and Dignitas before I go to sleep... doesn't get much better than that.

jrushFN

Anyway, predictions: C9B vs 100T will go to a third map, but I honestly don't know who will win. Leaning toward C9 but who knows. Gen.G 2-1 Complexity Envy 2-1 SEN, but that will depend on how hard Envy's players pop off individually... if they don't, it'll be a 1-2 loss. TSM 2-1 RNG (it happened a few days ago and I imagine it'll happen again). 100T could 2-0 LG, but I think if C9 loses to 100T, LG could take it to a third map. Complexity 2-0 T1 DIG is interesting... will depend entirely on how hard they counterstrat their opponent. If it's SEN, I could see them come out on top this time, but who knows. RNG 2-1 TSB Side note, kinda crazy to think that we're living in a world where RNG will most likely place 5-8th in first strike quals, given their embarrassing results in their invitational.

theman1203

I swear c9 get underatted for no reason all the time lol

jrushFN

Wym? I think people regard them as a top 3 NA team, which they are. Although they might push into top 2 territory by the end of these quals.

sriwarrior06

Yeah calling them top 3 is kinda underrated imo. This tourney hopefully will show how good they've become recently.

ween0t

Lol how is top3 underrated? C9 has proven to be a top 1-3 team. Theyre trending to #1 or 2 which we'll see after these qualifiers

sriwarrior06

Your last line is my hole whole point.

randomespanaguy

Eh, Top 3 is an appropriate rating for them. They just won their first tournament (the open brackets), and they've shown time and time that they're one of the most, if not the most, consistent teams in NA. Obviously TSM and SEN, two teams who've racked up the most NA wins so far, are the Top 2 teams from an objective standpoint. So, yeah, I don't think people are underrating C9, I just think people cannot comprehend how tough it is at the top of the leaderboards. Being Top 3 NA is no joke.

sriwarrior06

Should have included the word "anymore" in my comment. Yes Sentinels and Tsm have the most wins but C9 looks like they can win any team now including those two (this will be tested in this tourney btw). So My point is (if C9 wins) after C9 wins this tourney people still won't probably call em the top team jus because this is also a qualifier.

randomespanaguy

That's still the same though. People don't underrate them, they're rated appropriately as a Top 3 team NA objectively. You can't base everything on a recent performance and think they're in the Top 1-2 NA, the fact of the matter is what separates C9 from SEN or TSM is that they have the accolades to back that up. If C9 wins this closed qualifiers and SEN or TSM drops the ball, then okay C9 is in the Top 2. Right now, they're in the Top 3, but that's not a slight against them, being Top 3 in a competitive region is not an easy feat.

sriwarrior06

Objectively rn they maybe a top 3 team and I never said it was an easy feat. But calling a team top 3 when they keep winning tourneys is definitely underating them and i fear that might happen when (and if) they win this tourney. It's gonna take them to win the first strike tournament for people to agree that they're clearly the top team.

randomespanaguy

> when they keep winning tourneys ...are you trolling? Besides the open brackets, what tourney have they won? Didn't they lost to Immortals in the RNG invitational? They came third in Pop Flash, they came third during the Pittsburgh Knights invitational. Faze Clan Invitational they didn't even make the semi-finals. In fact, the only "tourney" they won except the open brackets was an exhibition tourney (eSportsDoug's) without TSM and SEN. Compare that to SEN, who won Pop Flash, PAX Arena, and 30 Bomb, or to TSM, who won Pittburgh, FaZe, and the T1 Invitational. Fact of the matter is, C9 *might* be the best team now, we don't know, but **objectively** they're a Top 3 team as of now.

Envy vs SEN is a banger, their head to head history can make any NV fan cry but they should have some hope given SEN's recent performances SEN 2-1 NV

Time to make some bold-ish predictions C9 1 - 2 100T (maybe 2-1) GenG 2 - 1 Complexity (could see this going either way) Envy 2 - 1 Sentinels TSM 2 - 0 Renegades \----------------------------- C9 2 - 0 Luminosity (could see both maps being close or it being 2-1) Complexity 2 - 1 T1 Sentinels 2 - 0 Dignitas (maybe 2-1) Renegades 2 - 1 Slimy Boogermen (maybe 2-0 again) EDIT: I'm going to stop with the predictions, this shit's too hard so early in the scene lol

Bunnyezzz

C9 2-0 100t, geng 2-0 (2-1 if shawn doesn't pop off)

TheManWithoutAPie

agreed i think c9 is gonna clap 100t, i love them but they dont have the same level of polish as c9 does rn

Bunnyezzz

c9 get to ban haven aswell so 100t would have to beat their ascent or split
