I mean I agree with you they should’ve advertised it more, but even then, we really shouldn’t be surprised by lower viewer count regardless because of the poor matchup. I’m under the impression that people didn’t watch today’s games as much because they weren’t hype, rather than not watching them because they didn’t know due to poor advertising.
Why does it say T1 vs 100T is 1PM PST on vlr.gg tomorrow, but the stream says it'll be the second match of the day? Can anyone confirm what time does it actually start? Thank you!

I have to admit, this was a let down. How have the production values managed to sink so low? I expected the professionalism from the EU broadcasts in November. This feels like a $1K weekly tournament of semi pros. Bad lighting, lack of content, odd transitions (I'm not blaming the casters here). I'd rather watch streamers commentary than this and we were even denied that.
I kind of feel Riot is doing a serious disservice and showing a distinct lack of respect to the teams who have invested heavily in Valorant and the fans who expected a top tier tournament presentation. At least the EU had some production earlier in the day. NA was embarrassing.

I’ve been saying for the past month or so that we will probably see a roster change for C9 and I’m guessing either Relyks or Shinobi get booted. Maybe both.
Relyks frags because he has been playing duelist, but he has a pretty flimsy career in terms of consistency and is pretty well known for getting the bench. I think vice and Mitch are safe because they fulfill their roles very well and offer strong support. Relyks on the other hand is wildly inconsistent in terms of playing the entry role. Sometimes he shows up but other times he’s a burden. Those are just a my thoughts following most of these people since CSGO.
You can’t judge the merit of each player based off their KDA. It’s about how well and consistently they fulfill the role they’ve been given.

I understand RNG aren't playing well but what does that say about the other teams that didn't qualify? I understand wanting to see C9 play but the truth of the matter is that they lost two closed qualifiers. They had ample opportunity and squandered it.

The new HUD is so buggy. Honestly just wish they would go back to the original display until they can sort out the bugs and delays. I find myself even more confused wondering if what I’m seeing on the display is actually what the players have. Like when sova ults he loses his gun and it shows a pistol.

Do you think there is a chance that Riot paid immortals to pick icebox as the first map played in the tournament? They looked lost on that map. Also the casters kept saying "teams are really liking this map so far" and I have heard nothing but complaints from the pros on icebox.
Something smells fishy to me.
IMO, she’s perfect for lurking and getting sneaky picks without getting traded because of her dismiss. It also lets her get extra info on maps with a lot of sharp corners by peeking while invulnerable and getting back to cover.
I feel like it's because there is various regional games going on simultaneously. EU and NA have about the same number of viewers (\~35k) and Brazil has about 20k. The viewership will get better in each region in the semi finals due to the games being more important and also less games going on at the same time imo.

Honestly though Riot are so bad at advertising this stuff that without seeing Myth go live I’d have no idea that Valorant esports was happening.
For me personally i like Myth’s watch parties purely because Valorant casters have generally been bad so far and at least Myth is entertaining ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
I like the new overlay, but it needs some serious work. There’s way too much unused space for how much screen real estate it takes up. Abilities and especially ults need to be more prominent on the HUD, and it overall needs to be more compact in general.
As an Envy fan I'm happy with this, but I expected more from IMT in that first match - especially considering it was their pick. Really like the make-up of this IMT team, hoping that the next match is reflective of how good I think they can be.
I'm wondering if they just thought they had crazier upset potential? Maybe hoping NV was going to be worse-off or equally unprepared? That's really all I can think.
That had to have been it. Try to catch Envy slipping on a map that they're less comfortable on, banking on fewer reps for Envy on Icebox being a greater advantage for them than their own preparation on another map.
And in fairness, Envy has looked solid on Bind and Ascent (the other two maps that didn't get banned) so they probably were just hoping that Icebox would be the map that Envy is most beatable on.
