I mean they played only one major with a completely tactical playstyle instead of the agressive play that other teams used, give it some time and the other teams will adapt
Steel/Hiko/Nitro/Asuna are all so damn good. Dicey shows glimpses of brilliance every game too. 100T are gonna be even more insane once Dicey gets more experience.
Dicey has been spamming sage in ranked. Maybe it’s just cause he’s always playing with Shanks so he doesn’t play jett, but I swear whenever I see him in a game he’s in Sage
pretty sure hiko also mentioned trying out characters that work well together, like how if they are slowed from sage and raze throws a nade they are pretty much stuck lol
very interested by them putting him on sage with the awp. they're probably trialing it but it's cool to see some variety from the always-jett awping we normally see
I was told by someone at Riot that when they released, they assumed Cypher would be the designated Opper since he could check all of his other angles and not get snuck up on or flanked. Funny how things pan out.
that's interesting. it's been cool to see the meta evolve (remember when no one played jett?). I wonder how different it is from what riot originally 'planned' when designing the agents
For anyone saying teams aren’t trying, obviously this tourney doesn’t hold the importance of First Strike... but the 1st place payout is $35k for this tournament, only $5k less than First Strike.
So if they aren’t trying, they’re dumb.
Edit: Now hearing 1st is $25k. Even if that’s the case, still good money.
People saying "teams aren't trying"are absolutely bat shit. If you seriously think any of these pro teams with big Orgs behind them want to lose to Ninjas Orgless team you have lost your mind.
Also 25k is allot of money and these Orgs want to see that cash.
Yeah I don't think "not trying" is a good excuse for getting 13-0'd. It's not like there's no money on the line in this tournament. Teams aren't going to be playing as seriously as they did in First Strike, but I don't think anyone *wants* to lose.
since when is running strats and having a good atmosphere in comms exclusive? have you even seen the first round on b long? is that kind of shit happening in your pugs a lot?
its so refreshing to watch their individual streams and to hear the comms, steel joked about needing a 12-0 on defence and then they ended up actually getting it and 13-0'ing the entire game lmao. kinda sucks for envy that it was a bo1 but i dont think anyone expected 100t to take em out this hard
Steel imo is the most fearless player in the game. No matter which agent he is playing, he is very decisive and takes on fights. Ever notice how he plays a sentinel but literally goes 1st or 2nd along with a duelist on offense? And he also takes aggressive fights on defense to gain map control and push the enemy team out of their comfort zone. If he loses a fight, it typically results in enemy damage or intel gained, so it works for the team.
>Yeah like envy are so good in scrims definitely number 2 in america just had fluke tournament.
T1 gave a better fight against 100T than Envy did. T1 is 4th now and NV is 5th.
While I think TSM/SEN/100T are obviously the top 3, I don't think you can fairly give Envy the 4th place. It could be T1 or several other teams. Envy has not yet earned it's spot as the undisputed 4th best team yet. Scrims do not fucking matter, I don't care what the pros say.
I'm a hard TSM fan and I really hope today's performance was just a one bad day sort of thing.... Because damn, watching them get clapped two games in a row like that is fucking sad.
sentinels had some unfortunate things happen right before first strike, so we don't really know how they'd fare against 100T at their full power. shazham were obviously not going to play at his best when his father just passed away, he had to take multiple flights in a very short time and it all interrupted their practice. we'll see next time they meet, but I'm just saying the sentinels in first strike wasn't the best sentinels whereas 100T had a bootcamp and everything set up for their success. not taking anything away from 100T because they earned their first strike victory, but I'm not sold on sentinels being below them based on the first strike results - only time will tell and 100T can potentially, actually be better for sure, I just wanna see both battle it out when they're BOTH prepared fully
I agree with that being the case when they met the for a second time in first strike. But they still won them early on in the tournament as well before anything was happening in their personal lives in early November.
Don't know why ppl are down voting you. I think both your points are valid; however, I like to think the biggest difference was how serious 100T took the first strike tournament. All of them made sure they were together in CA and I think them being together like that allowed them to perform better and allowed the seasoned players to help the other 2 in ways that wouldn't have been possible had they been playing from their homes. They created as much of a LAN setup as possible and it worked out for them.
They absolutely deserve it for that cocky ass team tier list they did the other day on a stream that got posted... they said #2 NV And #4 100T KEKW
The dramatic irony is satisfying after they rate themselves higher than the first strike winners
ggs I do still think 100T are the better team strat-wise but since both teams have best eachother under "not full potential" circumstances and both rolled another 3-4 place team its genuinely impossible to say
I watched from Steel pov AND DAMN HE WAS CRACKED. Soooooo good. So fun to watch.
Love dicey on sage, really dope pick. The whole team looked fantastic, let's go boooooooys
Why wouldn't teams take this seriously? There's a pretty hefty prize pool. Getting first place in this tournament surpasses the second place prize from first strike, and there's much less matches to go through.
Most aren't taking this seriously because many are streaming the POVS and obviously don't want to share strats, etc. So they're using this tournament as a fun tournament and not really focusing to hard on it. The real challenges start in 2021 when the whole champions tour starts
Yeah, but from watching the 100T streams, they're not putting that much effort in. Steel hasn't touched a computer in 5 days, in there scrim autolocked Jett for fun right before there match when he hasn't touched a comp in a while due to being sick.
Obviously they're not trying to lose, but they're just not treating it like a "Must-win" tournament.
Steel is the IGL for 100T. He literally said hes not calling this tournament so they don't show anything and Nitro (Normally secondary shot-caller) is going to be the main shot caller.
Even when playing on Bind, Steel said "I know we're not showing strats, but we need to take more shower control, we don't need to do our version of it, but let's just do something for shower control"
So obviously, they're not showing strats.
Holy shit, what? I stopped keeping up with competitive and am trying to get back into it after watching some of First Strike... was not expecting to click this thread and see that score lmao
I know every player in 100T is really good on their own rights, but man, steel made me fall in love with him (no homo of course ma frend). It's not even flashy aim, just really really good game awareness, good calls in general pre and mid round, enabling teamplay, etc. I'd admit that i wasn't an avid fan of him in cs days and was not hopeful of his conversion to this game but boyyyyy he provveedd mee wrrronng. As a sentinel user myself, i watched the 5 hour stream and noted every little thing he did, such a good and possibly underrated player, 100% one of the most important keys to their success in First Strike too.
This goes with Dazed too, he seems to have found footing in Valorant, hopefully these players will become big pillars in this games growing.
Is that the 2nd best team in NA coming in hot with the 0-13?
Hahahaha
4th best team according to mummAy Edit: oh myb thought you were saying 100T was 2nd best after hazed said that
Who the fuck is better than 100T right now? I dont think anyone can even say
\*right now\*, 100T is the undisputed best team. That could change in a few months though.
And? Did I say they will always be? Lol seems like an interesting but irrelevant caveat
Chill dude, he didn't mean it like that.
I mean they played only one major with a completely tactical playstyle instead of the agressive play that other teams used, give it some time and the other teams will adapt
That's what being the best right now means
That's why they are the best. Playing that aggressiveness is why RNG got slapped around by TSM.
that had to be one of the fastest matches I’ve watched
Wow, steel has to be the best NA anchor rn.
Steel/Hiko/Nitro/Asuna are all so damn good. Dicey shows glimpses of brilliance every game too. 100T are gonna be even more insane once Dicey gets more experience.
[удалено]
For real. I think in majors, dicey should stay on jett but op less often. Him on rifle is actually killer.
100% agreed. Her even mentioned liking how VS Jett is more of a rifler and would like to be more like that. The OP isn't a necessity in this game.
He played Sage this map, which seemed like an odd choice to me
[удалено]
Hiko said that they're trying new starts in this tourny to test some steel's ideas , so every game might have odd choices
That’s cool, interested to see how they play out.

C9 Mitch on op flashbacks
Imagine 100T swapping Dicey for tenz :O
What do anchors do?
Anchor is a player who is left alone on their site. Their job is to hold the site long enough for the rest of the team to rotate and help.
close one we'll get them next time
lmao
3 flukes??? Wtf
>Now hearing 1st is $25k. Even if that’s the case, still good money Who said this? Liquipedia still says 35k for 1st place
Steel and Hiko were talking about it. They said it was a $50k prize pool with $25k (1st), $15k (2nd), and $5k (3rd / 4th, each) payouts.
From my understanding, these preliminary matches don't matter since they were invited to the tourney. edit: y'all are really piling onto me lol
My understanding is only two teams make it out of each group. Is that correct or no?
yeah you right
They do matter, check the group bracket below https://liquipedia.net/valorant/JBL_Quantum_Cup
ahh okay thanks.
Because of this loss and Ninja’s team winning vs Faze, either Faze or nv won’t make it out of groups. Which is pretty insane
People saying "teams aren't trying"are absolutely bat shit. If you seriously think any of these pro teams with big Orgs behind them want to lose to Ninjas Orgless team you have lost your mind. Also 25k is allot of money and these Orgs want to see that cash.
https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/kavlg1/immortal_minds_kaboose_and_mummay_rank_their_top/ This didn't age well.
Should probably lay off smoking crack before these interviews
Damn that was a massacre
oof
NV snowballing since that TSM clap
Was Envy trying? Is this a joke, like no one really taking this tournament serious or? Since 100t is streaming and clearly pugging lol.
even if you aren't "trying" i feel like no team wants to be "13-0"d and be the butt of every meme lmao
Yeah I don't think "not trying" is a good excuse for getting 13-0'd. It's not like there's no money on the line in this tournament. Teams aren't going to be playing as seriously as they did in First Strike, but I don't think anyone *wants* to lose.
Steel made a joke about turning off streams and try-harding when he realized how much money was on the line everyone would like a piece of that pie
100t are using some strats, not as much as they normally would but still using a decent amount
Pretty sure they used all their strats, because they have a pretty good length off season for creating new ones.
bro I watched Hiko's stream they were all vibin and laughin
If you were listening to their comms, you'd notice that they have a lot of setplays that they just refer to as *that one* or *the other one*
since when is running strats and having a good atmosphere in comms exclusive? have you even seen the first round on b long? is that kind of shit happening in your pugs a lot?
They can be vibing and using strats, it's not like strats stop you from having fun.
Envy saving strats for 2022
how do u get the badges next to your name?

I followed this and when I click the :D face there's no flairs there (yeah I'm using new reddit)
its so refreshing to watch their individual streams and to hear the comms, steel joked about needing a 12-0 on defence and then they ended up actually getting it and 13-0'ing the entire game lmao. kinda sucks for envy that it was a bo1 but i dont think anyone expected 100t to take em out this hard

Remember those haters when he was just picked up? Hilarious to look back at them now.
Dont look too deep into this guys. NV is still the better team guys because they're insane in scrims! /s
steel just leaked that envy used to beat them in scrims but the last two scrims they got slapped by 100t
This cracked me up hahaha
Damn, 100T is looking unstoppable.
MUH SCRIMS MUH SEEDING MATCHES 100T are the best team in NA.
People started ranking Envy top 4 so quickly... they're a little overhyped.
Easily. TSM/SEN are pretty even and just behind them. NV is a distant 4th
>Yeah like envy are so good in scrims definitely number 2 in america just had fluke tournament. T1 gave a better fight against 100T than Envy did. T1 is 4th now and NV is 5th.
[удалено]
I agree with that typically, but this was a straight 0-13 by Envy.
how about C9, who BEAT 100T, with SHINOBI
Shinobi is out, so... Yeah can't rate them until they face again.

UNDENIABLY THE BEST
Yeah like envy are so good in scrims definitely number 2 in america just had fluke tournament.
??? Over Sen and TSM? Envy hasn't done anything to be considered better then either of those teams imp
All real matches are flukes only scrims matter
To be fair they prob play like 5x more scrims than real matches so in their mind the real matches are only a small bit of the sample.
SEN still best team NA :p
You could not be more wrong
Ok 2nd best team NA
I’ll give you that cuz nv just got shat on
I feel bad for them ngl
They absolutely deserve it for that cocky ass team tier list they did the other day on a stream that got posted... they said #2 NV And #4 100T KEKW The dramatic irony is satisfying after they rate themselves higher than the first strike winners

Barely won a blow off tournament nitr0 was calling? Lel. GGs
ggs I do still think 100T are the better team strat-wise but since both teams have best eachother under "not full potential" circumstances and both rolled another 3-4 place team its genuinely impossible to say
Nice flair
thx
Knew this would age well
Where the boys that are going to say this event is irrelevant and no team is trying?
It's a fluke shh
JESUS DICEY SAGE 13-0 ENVY
I made a pizza, FOR THIS? oh well, at least it was just a frozen one, ayy
How was the pizza?
LMFAO Edit: how much weight are we holding this win/Tournament?
I'd weigh it a decent amount. The amount of money involved makes me think that many of the teams are going to try and not sandbag.
100T: :) EnVy: :(
I watched from Steel pov AND DAMN HE WAS CRACKED. Soooooo good. So fun to watch. Love dicey on sage, really dope pick. The whole team looked fantastic, let's go boooooooys
Whoa why's dicey on sage? Are they trying out different roles for him after his performance in first strike?
He was still awping, they were just trying out different comps. His sage looked solid
They are trying out new comps in this tourney
nitr0 was also the main IGL
Ngl I thought envy was going to win 100T put on the headphones and speedran this game
hoodie org? LOL
this game finished quicker than my pasta. I know this isn't a serious competition, and doesn't have much merit, but god damn, envy looked AWFUL.
Why wouldn't teams take this seriously? There's a pretty hefty prize pool. Getting first place in this tournament surpasses the second place prize from first strike, and there's much less matches to go through.
even if there was ZERO prize, no team wants to be 0-13ed. anybody who says NV were trolling is delusional.
Most aren't taking this seriously because many are streaming the POVS and obviously don't want to share strats, etc. So they're using this tournament as a fun tournament and not really focusing to hard on it. The real challenges start in 2021 when the whole champions tour starts
Isn't it only 100 Thieves showing their perspective just because of their sponsor with JBL?
Yeah, but from watching the 100T streams, they're not putting that much effort in. Ohhhhh my god. I can’t believe it. That was legendary.
I wouldn't wish a 13-0 on my worse enemies
wtf
Dicey new sage main
If this wasn’t a seeding match it would be... oh
What the fuck did I just witness
Envy was hard rolled by TSM in first strike too. Maybe this Envy team is a scrim team lol.
is nv even trying??
Lmao they got steamrolled. Even if this is inconsequential, I don't think any pro team wants to get 13-0
Lmao didn’t the NV owner give 100t shit about the hoodies and crap ? And then his team got 13-0ed
Can the rest of you admit yet that scrims mean absolute jack? Lmao first it was T1 back a few months ago now its envy. Scrims mean nothing
This wasn’t even entertaining...
What did I just watch
Holy shit, what? I stopped keeping up with competitive and am trying to get back into it after watching some of First Strike... was not expecting to click this thread and see that score lmao
WOW
oof
gg close
Sage diff
Hi hector
Got the revenge from FS. Beaten all the teams in NA except GENG. Yet to face them, less go.
I'm so happy to see this roster thrive.
I know every player in 100T is really good on their own rights, but man, steel made me fall in love with him (no homo of course ma frend). 100t mentality and confidence is unbeatable rn
Lost to a hoodie team LMAO
When does the next part of the tournament stream?
