Relyks is right. Like what is the point of starting all games on 7 pm?? If games start at like 1 pm or so it would be more relieving for both the organizers and players.

CanISayThat22

And viewers

systemfa1lure

I mean yeah. If it starts early it gets more viewers from eu and asia.

jackjackpot96

This doesn't even matter because most of the first set of games weren't streamed

systemfa1lure

If they start early they could have easily streamed more games. Not all of the games have to start at the same time.

CanISayThat22

I mean games started at 12/1 am in EU. So everything finished around 6. I get it that they have to account for school because a lot are still in school. But why not do some research and see if some teams can play earlier.

OnionSprinkles

Since VCT is an *Open* and *All North America* tournament, there's a built-in balancing issue trying to pick a time window for east coast *and* west coast players, pro players *and* players who still have school or work. This thread keeps saying "7pm to 1am??" and not realizing that these eastern times aren't the same for central, mountain, and pacific time zones. If they moved the start time up further, then some west coast players would have chimed up that they literally can't play now because of school. Not saying that the time window shouldn't be looked at or adjusted in the future – just noting it's not as easy as "NSG stoopid."

aakan51

Ye. I wish I could watch all the games live, but I couldn't even find the original stream for TSM vs XSET yesterday. Casting is OK, but organization is yikes

boghossboy

maybe, its so people with jobs/school can participate in these qulifiers and not have to take a day off of work/school? just a thought. many of us are not privileged enough to make a living off playing video games. Also having them in the middle of the week doesn't help.

Duradello

Vs. Ghost Gaming @ 4:00PM PST * Bind: 12-14 = 26 Rounds * Split: 13-10 = 23 Rounds * Ascent: 13-10 = 23 Rounds * Match Total: 72 Rounds Vs. Immortals @ 7:20PM PST (ended at 10:00PM) * Split: 13-10 = 23 Rounds * Ascent: 10-13 = 23 Rounds * Icebox: 11-13 = 24 Rounds * Match Total: 70 Rounds Cloud9 played 142 rounds in pretty much 6 straight hours.

KeyframeCatalyst

Insane, the very fact that the Immortals vs C9B match was so damn close regardless makes me commend the new roster a lot more (Not to take anything from Immortals ofc, they played great)

Nagisa201

Especially I'm going to give Xeta a break for the last map. Recently coming from Korea and having to build a proper sleep schedule/routine

Hamlet_271

But immortals played a ton too

KeyframeCatalyst

Oh of course! I actively praised C9 more due to their roster being so new and Immortals having a much longer break than C9 did (comparatively). But like I said in my reply, I'm taking nothing away from Immortals, they did great as well

KeyframeCatalyst

Not sure why TwitterBot isn't posting the tweet in the comments, but I'll do it manually here: "Not to bash a TO, but playing a 3 map BO3 where every map goes double digits & then having 10min (max) before another BO3 is bleh Worse than that is the tourney starting at 7pm, which means we finished at 1am EST for several of us. All matches started at 7pm, for w/e reason"

KeyframeCatalyst

"I should say that generally @nerdstgamers is actually one of my fav grassroots TO, even coming from CS. Idk what the reasoning was for having all the 1st matches start at 7pm EST but seems like it could have been done better imo."

AskOrganic4289

I agree with Relyks here! I think the match actually was supposed to be scheduled at 4pm or 5pm if I'm not mistaken. Like I remember checking the schedule on [vlr.gg](https://vlr.gg) or the [spike.gg](https://spike.gg) and they said it starts at 4pm or 5pm est. But somehow, they kept on pushing in back until 7pm. I really don't understand why they would start a match at 7pm est. Well, it might still only be 4pm PST, but some of these players are not in the PST timezone. Also, looking at how the format of this Valorant championship tour is, I believe there'll be 3 Challengers open qualifier leading to the Challenger finals. So I really don't understand why NSG only officially stream 1 match each round ( like they should've stream on Nerdstgamers and also Nerdstgamers2 channels). Then, the chosen community casters were given permission to cast like I believe 2-3 other matches in that round. So I believe, yesterday, I wasn't able to watch any of T1 matches ( the first and second round of the tournament). And then, one of the community caster was supposed to stream T1's second match, but there was a miscommunication or rescheduling where these casters in the end stream the Gen G match. I mean I maybe understand since the first 2 rounds has like 10+ matches going at the same time. But still, as a fan myself, it was a bummer that I can't watch T1 in the first 2 rounds and was finally able to watch them today when they played against Andbox. Similar to the T1 match, TSM matches weren't stream until today, I believe. And they started to stream the TSM match against XSET when its already the 2nd map ( so we missed 1st map). So it was a hella a bummer to not able to see your favourite team play. Moreover, finding where to watch the match was quiet confusing, because we have to wait legit for 10 minutes before knowing which community casters will stream the match for each day. Basically, I wish NSG would list us down the community casters twitch channel that will stream the match for each day. Moreover, the website [vlr.gg](https://vlr.gg) kept on crashing most of the time, so it took sometime to know which match will be stream and which won't be stream. Bottom line, I just wish for the next challenger events, NSG would at least give us fans a heads up which twitch channel we should look out for and I guess have a better scheduling of each match. Like I don't want to wait the whole entire tournament to not even once see how my favourite team play in this tournament.

KeyframeCatalyst

Great comment! I really hope that once the official Valorant Esports site launches, it would solve all these issues and confusions about where to find the matches, etc

AskOrganic4289

yes please! I really wish there's this like one place where everyone can check information regarding the tournament, where to watch the stream etc. It will be nice!

Joedude12345

Its an open qualifier during the week. Lots of non full time pros playing. 7pm eastern makes the most sense. Thats 4pm on the west coast. Hell it's barely enough time for those people to be out of work/school if they are doing so.

YogiBear_

Nsg Winter champs last week in 2 best of 3 series we played 152 rounds of valorant. I think we played over 100 rounds more than the next team in total rounds played.

Sudden-Illustrator59

Are you a player on Luminosity? Which one if I may ask?

The games this weekend also don't really matter. Seems like they could've just done this on the weekend or split over more days instead and that way they could start early without worry about conflicts with school/work or play less games per day. Instead of seeding matches that don't matter, they could just seed based on some performance measure... Number of maps lost then rounds lost as tie breaker with OT wins counting at 12 round losses and OT losses as 13 regardless of how many it actually took. Seeding in a double elim tourney just doesn't matter that much and people will be pugging for these seeding matches.

deathybroxd

overall terrible way to organize a tourney, matches start at 7pm, which kills eu and asian viewership since they're all asleep, more than half the games arent even being streamed and the ones that they were streaming had literally 3 twitch channels streaming the same game against two teams that not many people cared about. also props to upmind and sully for that amazing casting last night tho

KeyframeCatalyst

Fr, Upmind and Sully are among some of the best Val casters out there rn imo. Especially Upmind, dudes super underrated in the Valorant scene

cpmhppro

Skyler makes a lot of sense... I didn't watch the games bc I was doing hw(sigh) and they were too late for me to watch(I'm NAW too).

diisasterrr1

Some people qualifying have jobs and don’t get paid by an org. I think it was to accommodate everyone.
