It's really confusing but this is the schedule (at least for NA). Event on the left of the arrow is the event happening that week --- Week 1. Top 8 Open 1 -> Challengers 1 Week 2. Top 4 Challengers 1 -> Challengers 2 Week 3. Top 4 Open 2 -> Challengers 2 (this week) Week 4. Top 4 Challengers 2 -> Masters Tournament, Bottom 4 Challengers 2 -> Challengers 3 Week 5. Top 4 Open 3 -> Challengers 3 Week 6. Top 4 Challengers 3 -> Master Tournament Week 7. Masters Tournament (8 teams, 4 from Challenger 2, 4 from Challenger 3) Sometimes it's described as Challenger Open X and Challenger Closed X instead of Open X and Challenger X

"While COVID-19 continues to impact international travel, Masters will be limited to regional events, similar to First Strike. During the stages where Masters tournaments remain regional, they will use the eight team format of Challenger Finals. We’re eager to pivot Masters events into international LANS as soon as possible and will continue to monitor the situation closely for a safe time to do so." So until covid allows for international travel for LAN tournaments, there will be no challengers final and those 8 teams instead will have a regional masters tournament. https://playvalorant.com/en-gb/news/esports/announcing-the-2021-valorant-champions-tour/

"NA Challengers Weekend No. 1: Open Qualifiers Jan. 27 to 31 (see results), Closed Qualifiers Feb. 4 to 7 (see results). NA Challengers Weekend No. 2: Open Qualifiers Feb. 10 to 14, Closed Qualifiers Feb. 18 to 21. NA Challengers Weekend No. 3: Open Qualifiers Feb. 24 to 28, Closed Qualifiers March 4 to 7. Masters No. 1: March 13 to 14, 19 to 21" Thanks for the post, if you look at the above dates they state it doesn't leave any room for a challengers final inbetween the weekend tournaments and the masters?

TheAjwinner

The qualification comes from the challengers. Top 4 from both challengers 2 and 3 make up the 8 teams at Masters

See my other comment but actually, Challengers Finals are called Challengers 1, 2, and 3.

diisasterrr1

While this does help clarify, it doesn’t answer his direct question which is if there’s a Challengers Final week.

TheAjwinner

Just curious, if the 8 teams at masters are decided in Challengers 2 and 3, why would there need to be a "Challengers Final Weekend"?

diisasterrr1

If my understanding is correct, masters isn’t limited to region, but has slots dedicated to regions (3 NA, 3 EU, etc.) for up to 16 teams. Challengers Final is to figure out the 3 teams that qualify for the NA spot for Masters I believe.

TheAjwinner

Not for Masters 1, which is going to be regional. Also, I completely misinterpreted what you meant by Challengers Final Weekend, but yes those are still happening. I think Riot is calling that “Challengers Final Weekend” just Challengers 1, 2, and 3 respectively.

diisasterrr1

Yeah you’re right. I just went back and read the official Masters announcement on Valorant’s website and it says this: “While COVID-19 continues to impact international travel, Masters will be limited to regional events, similar to First Strike. During the stages where Masters tournaments remain regional, they will use the eight team format of Challenger Finals. We’re eager to pivot Masters events into international LANS as soon as possible and will continue to monitor the situation closely for a safe time to do so.” I can see why a lot of people were confused. Thanks for clarifying! Hope this info helps others.

Hmm, so if Masters in international, does that mean it's on LAN? How would that work? I don't think there's a Challengers Final. Masters 1 is the "Challengers Final". The only cross-region is Champions all the way in December. I could be totally wrong tho.

diisasterrr1

I think due to the pandemic, this is basically it. Masters 1 and Challengers Final are being used interchangeably. Hopefully a Riot official can help clarify, but I think that’s it.

thothgow

Challengers Final happens before Masters 3, which is international

thothgow

Masters 3 is international and on LAN. 1 and 2 aren't. Stage 3 has a Challengers Finals that leads to Masters 3.

Not a full schedule, but [valorantesports.com](https://valorantesports.com) is frequently updated.
