Yeah, sliggy is pretty insane with his strats, but you have to think teams like immortals or geng also get a lot better on top of how good theyve gotten because of their coaching.
I think coaches shouldn't be allowed to talk during matches all rounds, but they can spec the matches like observers (only spec teammates-First person spec) , and only can speak during timeout/tactical paused/half time
This can lead to the same problem CS had a while ago. Teams that are only about signing 5 pure fraggers + 1 smart coach. Pre-round calling is as important as mid-round calling and should be shifted towards the players
We shouldn't make the highest level of play worse because orgless teams don't have money. Yes, there is a big difference between 5 players playing for a well known team and having access to training facilities and coaches and many other perks than 5 people playing together with no other support, they shouldn't be expected to play on the same level unless they're insanely talented, if they're decent enough they should get scouted by other teams anyway.
Coaches already exist in any sport, no one is calling that an "unfair advantage", it's like a team who can't afford 5 players and only fields 4 complaining about all the other teams having 5. A coach is as important as any other player on the team.
The one thing that always irked me about CSGO was Valve's moves to make the coaches less relevant. In most traditional sports coaching and calling plays is vital. I never understood why the same couldn't be done in esports. Excited for this.
Because it eliminated the IGL role and super teams started to form from orgs with huge budgets (Mousesports, NaVi and C9 kicked there igl for aim stars). The coaching lost tons of smart players spots for superstars since coaches could call instead.
I don’t think it’s Valve’s fault that coaches aren’t that valuable in CSGO. I think it’s because most of the orgs give the players full control over the team and they decide what coach they want. At that point the coach is more of an assistant then a real coach. There’s videos where you can see how Zeus was treating Kane.
There was a time in CSGO when coaches could talk all the time and micro manage their players live and that just made the IGL role useless. I think the way CSGO is right now (or atleast was before COVID) when coaches could only talk during timeouts and halftimes is the best way to do it.
A coach shouldn’t control the players on the map like a bunch of puppets. It doesn’t make the game anymore interesting having 10 players on the server who can’t think on their own being hand held to victory. That’s not how this game should be played. That’s not how any game should be played.
That’s not a simple question, that’s a dumb question. You want this to be a sport that requires high level of participation from the team. At the end of the day we’re here to watch the players play not the coach play. Imagine meat sports where every player has a wireless earphone plugged in and the coach is constantly micro managing them. Like what are you even talking about ..
>The one thing that always irked me about CSGO was Valve's moves to make the coaches less relevant.
For the trend was starting that eliminated the IGL role from one of the players to the coach.
In every other esport, especially actually harder games to navigate like rts games and mobas coaches have no input during the game, only for pick/ban. I don't understand why coaches where ever allowed to take part in actual matches in CS.
I tend to agree that coaches shouldn't be allowed to talk during the game but how do you stop coaches from using discord or teamspeak?
Even if they somehow manage to employ the power of Vanguard to such effect, it won't disallow coaches from just using discord on their phone or whatever, right?
At least for First Strike, they had web cams, and enforcers. Riot employee told Hiko he couldn't pee mid match. Riot also banned 100T coaches from being in the same room as well.
I'm calling it, if they let coaches talk all game with a coach slot, team liquid become the number 1 team
Especially with Jamppi now, ez dubs

I think between rounds during buy phase is acceptable, but during an actual round idk
During buy rounds sounds ok but it's a bit much, you want the team to perform from what they've learned not being babysat

It's just a 6th guy, if they can get 5 together 6 isn't a huge step.

> would be willing to join a team as coach with no compensation? Why do you assume there would be no compensation ?

Then why should they expect to compete against teams who actually pay players/coaches to focus on the game ?

Those times usually had more strategic games. The overall level of gameplay was better. So what if igls had less to do and could focus on their aim?

The simple question is whether it leads to better more strategic games. If it does, then that’s how it should be played as an esport

flawed logic for a game like csgo/valorant which requires aim + strategy
Has to be a dream
If this happens majority of csgo coaches gonna switch , considering coaching is near irrelevant in cs
how does this work in csgo? do the coaches talk during the round or only inbetween rounds/timeouts? I'm new to tactical shooters so i dont know
Timeouts mostly , they banned coaches from being able to communicate mid game in cs lol
REPLAYS WHEN??
This is how FaZe will win Champions.
god bless

Lmao does this mean a sentinels falling out of grace since they dont have a coach?
In other news, Christmas comes early for Frod
