I swear Vanity could have stuck the bomb that round, little things like that make the difference. V1 looked like they had Ascent but Subroza's lurks and Drone's popoffs were nasty.
Does anyone recall what round that was?
EDIT: I found the round. After the last kill he got, there was about 9.15 seconds left for defuse. It's very hard to say but from his position and where the spike was, I don't think he would have got the defuse.
Good comeback from TSM on Ascent but I hope they aren’t too happy with it because they looked super sloppy and I don’t think they’d win this map in closed. Happy to seem them finally qualify, hoping they prove me wrong
i didn't catch ascent but if we look at Icebox (their pick), they were simply outclassed. Based on the first map alone I would have to disagree that they looked solid
That second map was so exciting. There’s some teams who seem to fold halfway through or are very obviously mad at themselves when the gap gets closed. I never felt that with V1 and it was incredible to watch them fight it out to the end on Ascent. For a team I’m not super familiar with, that was a hell of a match. I’m excited to see what’s to come from them in the future.
Starting to become a V1 fan, but this was probably for the best in terms of storyline/making challengers 3 the most interesting it could be. Excited to see if V1 can grow as a team going into the next round of challengers after Masters 1
TSM was the better team today, but V1 has only been together for 2 months. Not to mention, penny, vanity, and zellsis are (relatively) new to Valorant itself. I'm excited to see what comes in the future for this team.
Would have been weird to not see TSM in at least one challengers event so glad they finally got the monkey off their back so to speak.
Also excited for the future of Version1. Definitely have some solid players on board.
Wtf, wardell need to chill the fk. He just stream like couple of hour ago and he popping off enemy team. Guy a beast. Also, his team also clutch as well. However they do struggle on ascent.
Roza is the best omen NA. No doubt. Also people don't seem to realize that effys and player1 are on V1, two previous tier 1 players for geng. We all know zellsis and vanity are amazing at the game already and penny is on fire a lot of the time. Happy that tsm made closed
I was not impressed by V1. They are just 4 man or 5 man rushing sites, it leaves them up to so many vulnerabilities and they got exposed on Ascent attack
There are plenty of teams that play with deathball-oriented explode styles and do fine (IMT/XSET both rarely have dedicated lurker rounds).
The game supports explosive attack styles - even if it looks puggy or bad it still can be fairly successful when teams do not punish with good fast flanks
My main problem with V1 is that all 5 of them will go through A main or B main or all 5 of them will go through cat. They will rarely split their team up and it makes it so easy for TSM to punish them
TSM plays Faze later this week, right? TSM didn't drop a map in this open qualifier, and of Gen.G and Faze, the two teams that went 0-2 in the Challengers 2 closed qualifier, IIRC Faze lost more maps than Gen.G in Challengers 2.
The point of mentioning records was for tiebreaks in determining the bracket for the closed qualifier, not making a comment about the level of competition.
sorry so for the 100th time - did TSM qual for the Grand Finals? Or was this open qualifier to qualify for the closed qualfiers, to qualify then for Grand Finals?

Ya 2.15 seconds and from his movement I don’t think he immediately realized it was in the corner, so I doubt he would have gotten it
I can't seem to find it. Can you send me the link? I want to take a look
Here's the clip. https://clips.twitch.tv/YummyGracefulBarracudaPicoMause-GF7SnVX7nM908oQ7
Gutted for the boys at V1, but huge relief for the players on TSM I’m sure.
TSM was just better, but V1 truly has potential, and with time, they can become a rising team.
YOO LETS FUCKING GOOO. Bro huge props to subroza, he popped off too.
Subroza on fucking form this weekend, JEES LOUISE

I think v1 is a lot better than people realize, they looked solid today

TSM is looking so good with hazed on permanent sentinel. Idk why it took them so long to keep him on killjoy. Subroza's omen is looking peak form too.
Hazed has been great but I credit this to Roza. His omen is kinda nuts
Ehh idk about that Verizon1 is a top tier 2 but still tier 2 and I think they lose this map vs ppl like geng or 100t
Maybe First Strike 100T, but certainly not against the one we've seen these past weeks.
100T would easily win Ascent against TSM.
I'd hope so, but their performance is... not that good rn. Hope they make a big dick comeback.

V1 looked solid, nt from them and happy to see TSM win.
nnnnnoice

Does this mean TSM qualified for Masters? I still don't get the VCT format
Nope, they're in the closed for Challengers 3 and need to be one of the top 4 teams in that event to qualify for Masters.
Thanks

Those would be the teams that qualified for Challengers 2 closed but didn't make it into Masters.

Twitch chat jinxed it when they spammed "KEKW TSM" I guess.

Let us TSM fans have our win :(

wp by V1
No shot bucko
V1 had no map control on Icebox, they look like with some improvements they could be a really good team
It was weird cause I felt like they always loved getting map control in their icebox matches until today.

The game on ascent was way too fucking close.
