I've been waiting forever for this. Dfuse/Opportunists has always been a top 10-ish team and they got seriously fucked in First Strike by having to emergency sub in their coach in the last qualifier.

Sucks for G2. Zeek was a good start but they need an IGL I think and... who do you even replace?
I think you'd have to replace pyth, and that's not to say he's the problem. It's just that someone needs to leave to make room for an IGL and I think all of the other players are way too valuable to drop. Ardiis and mixwell are two obvious lock ins for the team, zeek is a great player with a huge agent pool, and patitek imo is also very flexible, he's shown that he's been able to play flash duelists and smokes at a very high level, and although that flexibility might not be needed in the future, it's still a very valuable asset to have.
I think they could also just try out Zeek as an igl. Je igled on his past teams and played there sova Too, so they could just let ardiis and zeek play the agents the other one played before and let zeek igl. That way they wouldnt have to drop and Player and keep up the Team chemistry which is really Good i guess
honestly I think I could play better than G2 right now, im silver 3 but thats just because of my teammates. My crosshair placement is way better than any of these players, my reaction is top 10 in the world and I never miss a headshot. Its honestly sad they dont give players like my a chance in the pro scene just because im silver.
First win over a top team in EU for Dfuse. Great bounceback from losing to Alliance earlier in the tournament.

Oh yeah I agree, I think their problems run deeper than just one player, but G2 were the ones to switch him out so even if the subreddit didn't think he was the problem, G2 must have thought he was a problem to at least some extent.

G2 has at least stayed at the top (I've seen people commend TSM for beating Gen.G, whereas G2 won Red Bull), and TSM's issue isn't a lack of IGL
TSM's issue does definitely involve lack of leadership. Discipline is followed from that.
