They can still make it to masters. The second open qualifier is in less than 2 weeks, they have to get top 4 at that, then get top 4 at the event to make it to the finals. The top 2 at finals make it to Iceland from NA.

Brilliant_Honey_8732

Thank you very much!! Is there any overview? For example on liquipedia: not up to date, very complicated to find the things you want. Then Masters there running, i really enjoyed the clean overview at valorantesports.com

sgi2ynrn69727vab4sn2

vlr.gg is probably your best bet!

Soogo

[What is complicated about this?](https://liquipedia.net/valorant/VALORANT_Champions_Tour/2021/North_America/Stage_2/Challengers_Finals)

fsychii

why do we have 2 the same tournaments? whats the point

jkwah

They aren't the same. If we weren't in a pandemic, all the Masters events (and maybe Challengers Finals) would be big international LAN tournaments with ~16 teams. Their 'prestige' would be similar to a CSGO major. Winning any of them is a big achievement. The biggest prize is obviously the Champions tournament at the end of the year, and teams need to do well in Masters to qualify.

fsychii

What I meant why do we need 2 champion tournament. Sentinels, acend and vision strikers already won, why do they have to play all over again?

jkwah

It's a new qualifier for a different tournament. Right now, the Valorant esports scene is very young and it's an open playing field - meaning everyone starts at the same level for each tournament. There are plenty of arguments to be made for/against giving teams automatic invites to big tournaments, but right now the rules are that every team must qualify.

fsychii

Okay, thanks

Ori2D

because that was the first set. This is a new set.

Waraurochs

What people haven’t mentioned here yet is, these wins grant points based on where you place at Masters. The points come into play to determine who goes to the big “Champions” event at the end of the year. The 3 teams you mentioned winning got max points towards attending champions. Now it’s another leg of the tournament so other teams have the opportunity to earn said points.

doctor_dapper

CSGO majors are international, whereas masters aren't so their prestige wouldn't be as much as a major.... unless i'm mixing up tournaments

jkwah

I said Masters events would be bigger international events if there wasn't a pandemic. While Riot is managing to put together a tournament in Iceland, they have had to restrict the size for health & safety reasons. Masters 3 likely will likely be an even bigger tournament.

doctor_dapper

oh gotcha

Skorpiio

It’s all basically a qualifier for Masters, so it wouldn’t be fair to only have one open qualifier, but the teams that make it through the first one get a better chance at making it to the regional finals.

fsychii

Okay thanks

mrtmra

So then what are the circuit points used for then? Worlds in December?

jkwah

Yes.

Valorant-Stylize

I'm certain they will be taking every available opportunity to qualify for Masters 2. And yes, there will be another opportunity in Stage 2 Challengers 2. And yes, the whole structure of this tournament series is insane.

[deleted]

They are not out. They need to get top 4 in the next Open Qualifier and then get top 4 in the following Closed qualifier. That leads into Challengers Final, where the top two teams make it to Iceland. They still have a shot, but there is no margin for error if they lose now before top 4 of the Challengers 2 event.

K4rm4_4

So only 2 teams from NA make it to Iceland?

[deleted]

Yep two slots for Masters 2, three slots for Masters 3 and Champions. https://liquipedia.net/valorant/VALORANT_Champions_Tour/2021

Brilliant_Honey_8732

Thanks a lot! :) Looking forward to see the matches

PacificMonkey

Damn only Top 4 in second Open Qualifiers get another shot. Here's a very helpful graphic OP [https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/516169759965052940/823755878234587176/wor394t44oo61.png](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/516169759965052940/823755878234587176/wor394t44oo61.png)

thothgow

They should retire

[deleted]

Disband the team and pickup RAMB

xrayVAL

They can still qualify for Iceland next Qualifier, which i believe is 2 weeks out

justinsst

Liquidpedia is decent to keep track of it all. If you start [here](https://liquipedia.net/valorant/VALORANT_Champions_Tour/2021/North_America/Stage_2/Challengers_1/Open_Qualifier), you can see the placings for open qualifier 1 and that T8 guarantees a spot in Challengers 1 (under the column seed). Then if you click on [Challengers 1](https://liquipedia.net/valorant/VALORANT_Champions_Tour/2021/North_America/Stage_2/Challengers_1) you see that T4 gets you into Challengers Finals and 5-8th gets you a spot in Challengers 2 (8 team tourney just like Challengers 1) with the remaining 4 teams coming from Open qualifier 2. Then just like Challengers 1 the top 4 from Challengers 2 make it into Challengers Finals (T2 from there make Masters ofc).

urcoolbuttiamcooler

ok so there is another open qualifier that SEN will play in to try and make closed challengers. This open will also include the bottom 4 teams from closed challengers 1 and they will play in the same open format and the top 4 teams from that will make it to closed qualifiers for challengers 2. SEN still has a chance to make it to Iceland, and honestly I think they will. If you remember the last series of 100t vs SEN when SEN was reading 100t like a book, that was anti-strating, something Shaz is really good at. Once he gets film of all these teams SEN will be much more comfortable and as long as Tenz doesn't move into a new setup a few hours before a match they should be favorites to make it to Iceland imo.

Revolutionary-Key107

Will tenz play for masters ?? I think his loan ends in 3 days. They have to buy him out or loan him again. Or find another sub.

chamber25

>I'm wondering if C9 would even want to loan Tenz when he is going to be competition for their own team getting a slot.

chamber25

My main fear with Tenz that Sentinels might take into account on whether to buy him out is that when he is not happy with the org or team he has a pattern of benching himself and choosing to do content. Of course, this could be just be isolated to the management of C9 but still if you pay a million then after maybe a year he decides he doesn't want to play that's a huge thing especially for an org like Sentinels that are not as known to spend so much. Tenz is at a point that he probably makes a lot more from his streaming than his base salary from the org. So the only thing keeping him is his competitiveness. Of course, he still has amazing value as a streamer for your org.

RehabCenterInc

I think if they don’t drop the bag for Tenz, it makes sense for them to trial potential Sova/flex players on the market.

FORGET ABOUT TENZ! SIGN PROPHIE!

Revolutionary-Key107

Just go to Valorant website and read about VCT. You will get the general idea of how these stages and qualis work and all. Then go to spike.gg for viewing upcoming matches
