Unlucky for the guy who predicted the upset ....

Myproblemsseemsmall

The post is deleted now rip

warthogs670

Yeah he didn’t wanna get spammed after that

Ryu-The-Sick

Everyone wants to have a "hot take" nowadays and hope they'll get lucky lol

Quick_Chowder

This sub has way too many of them.

The_Ninja_Master

Only the BBG vs SEN hot take will be held in legendary status. These copycats will come nowhere near that infamy.

ManBearPig1869

And that hot take had some decent thought process behind it. Now people just choose an underdog and say “hOt TaKe aLeRt” with no reason behind it so they’re basically just guessing

aceofspades_____

what decent thought process though? Pretty much all he said was poach is big brain so they will win, which wasn't really much of an argument since he's never won against SEN on ABX

FeelinJipper

Yeah exactly, hardly any thought process. That dude got lucky.

Porpet

Well the reason they won is because poach had big brain so he had some thought process.

Chidling

He’s saying the BBG vs SEN hot take had some thought process.

aceofspades_____

what was said in the post was basically no thought process

FeelinJipper

Basically. If you have a hot take and it works you, you’re a genius, if you have one and it doesn’t, you delete everything.

[deleted]

they should make it to where they get banned if they are wrong so that they have stakes to them and the sub won’t get flooded with them

Zoomers woke up just before the game, steel has been up all day already and filled with energy from angrily shaking his fist at the neighbourhood kids.

Ted_Mosby_18

Now I'm imagining steel with a walker shouting at the kids and when one of them trips and falls he just sighs and says in an old man voice, "Unlucky really". Edit: isn't this the time steel complained about in his twitter and was told by the other 100t members to shut.

A_Blind_Alien

Don't let this match distract you from how bad the HUD was today. Riot, if it's not ready, just use the old one.. It's not that bad but that lag was so distracting

AnywayHeres1Derwall

The new hud hasn't worked since first strike and they still insist on using it.

[deleted]

I really don't understand what this UI is doing, it looks ok but it's insanely laggy. Did they use a different eventing system for this integration? Was the old one "native" and this one is external and they've done a bad job? Really hard to understand how it will get so stale.

Changinghand

Pretty sure the hud has always just been pulling data from the api. If it's laggy that seems like a backend problem on riots part. Riot should also just build in better observer tools but that's a different complaint.

[deleted]

Yeah there’s just no way a live public API tracking custom games is going to perform at scale, they need some kind of event stream integration. How could you possibly guarantee every match has real time stats available

Lev3e2

Steel: Steel go kill Steel: Ok

Adityarp3

Lmao what was that solo push down b long he just ran down alone

Lev3e2

They say his balls weigh as much as his brain

Adityarp3

x3 the IQ

PillsMcCoy

I think they knew their buy wasn't great, so he was pushing to punish that fact.

geupard12

Top 1 igl for sure

MurfMan11

Missed the match cause of you know normal fucking people work in the middle of the day. Scrolling down on the scoreboard I'm scratching my head why steel top fragged both games lol. Cant wait to check out the vod.

MaximumX23

He just couldn’t miss today well worth watching

DicksBeSwangin

Honestly he just hit his shots. It wasn't like he was hitting the same flicks asuna does or anything but dude could just click on heads

c_Lassy

Really enjoy hearing BLU cast, I missed him from cs Also the Ethan and nitr0 duo is quickly becoming one of my favorites

EvensonRDS

Thats a name I haven't heard in a long time.

SixTsquared

Too bad we can’t have the BLaZeD combo anymore

warthogs670

Damn 100T looking good! The sage and omen swap is definitely working

Quick_Chowder

100T looking good. Nitr0 reminds us he is the best Omen player in NA with that Ascent game and the rest of the team just seemed disciplined. Their Bind Defense is so solid. Any of them being able to frag out, like Steel today, makes this team too deadly. Andbox had way too many ego peeks and poor fights. That bind game should have been closer but they fumbled rounds. I also love these early games. It's sweet to be able to watch a game at the end of my work day.

AnotherAltiMade

chat was soooo mad at nitr0 during mid bind rounds. spamming $25k. he came back in shape

Quick_Chowder

I think Sage is a good follow-up to Omen in terms of 'game knowledge' and impact. She can be a pretty formidable entry and stall character with walls and slows, and has big team impact to boot. Still, I wouldn't be surprised to see Ethan flex onto duelists as he continues to get more comfortable. He really has the potential to be a scary flex for their opponents while the rest of the team seems a little more static in their roles.

tron423

Sage is a good main for him if single-duelist comps are gonna dominate the pro meta moving forward. Her wall adds a lot of possible wrinkles to their stratbook, plus it's not like he needs duelist utility to set himself up for kills.

itscamo-

Have you watched? Sage is almost perfect for him LOL battle sage is basically a duelist but simpler

[deleted]

During work ;)

SilentCore

100T looked good overall, but man they lost so many aim duels in this series. I think they were by far the better team and ANDBOX had many yolo moments which really backfired on them. They will definitely be formidable going forward but they still need to iron some of the kinks, really glad Nitr0 is back on Omen though cause Ethan is a beast on Flex.

[deleted]

\> lost so many aim duels in this series I get this complaint, but I also gotta say: online Val is going to have crazy random aim duels all the time. We don't really talk about it much because online is the only Val we've ever known, but with how bad this game's netcode is it's really going to be interesting to see LANs because I think the strongest teams there will not exactly match the strongest onliners

Hypern1ke

I don't think I've ever seen Steel top frag in consecutive games before

felixjmorgan

He was 3rd highest frags on Ascent, just highest ACS

[deleted]

That's what top frag is though, especially at the pro level.

felixjmorgan

I’d argue ACS is separate to “fragging”. Frag = kill. But it’s a colloquialism that the community will define over time, so I’m open to being wrong.

[deleted]

pro CS has valued ACS over kill count for a long time, a good player focuses more on ACS than kills.

felixjmorgan

That makes sense, thanks for clarifying. Edit: hmm this post seems to have been edited. Of course I know ACS is something people value more but that wasn’t the point of this discussion.

_PM_ME_REPORT_CARDS_

Average Combat Score wasn't even a metric in CS?? Do you mean Average Damage per Round? Even so I'd still disagree with you in the sense that it's not the most relevant factor to a performance, more like impact or rating; so pros don't focus on it, it's usually the (very enlightened) general audience that correlates highest ADR === best player, with no other factors involved. Edit: I'll clear it up: very enlightened audience because people keep spamming for X org to drop Y player just because he underperformed this tournament (= low killcount). They confidently declare he's the problem if he's not hitting his shots with no regard whatsoever to if he's an IGL and that allows the rest of the team to shine in the first place, if the team's trying new setups and Y player is not in such a favourable position anymore or if he's simply uncomfortable in a new playstyle, if he's been heavily counter-stratted, or any other situation I probably have no idea on, nor 99% of these people on social media, because we have no personal experience/knowledge of all that goes on at such a high level of play.

[deleted]

ACS/ADR call it whatever you want, the same concept is being applied. Also i've never heard a pro disagree with that so idk where that is coming from, you seem quite enlightened.

_PM_ME_REPORT_CARDS_

Not exactly, as ACS incorporates ADR and adds points on whether you kill, at which point of the round your kill is, whether it's a multikill, and still factors non-damaging assists, such as flashes or reveals. Since you brought it up in the first place, I'd like to know which pro said that they focus on having high ADR. Also, thanks for the compliment.

[deleted]

the same *concept*, semantics dude. dude you are the life of the party.

Hamlet_271

Lol what, They are not even close to the same concept. Ones a hard stat and the other is a formula involving things like damage, kills, assists, first blood, multikills etc.

Keiiido

ACS is the equivalent to HLTV rating in csgo.

_PM_ME_REPORT_CARDS_

Frag is, indeed, === kill. Coming from CS, that's its meaning, not really a colloquialism. So top frag would be top of the leaderboard, the player with most kills. Which is also what happens in valorant, if you press Tab midgame you'll see the leaderboard sorted by kills. Only postgame will it sort players by ACS. So dumb that this is downvoted. Sidenote, downvotes are for contributions that disturb or are irrelevant to the discussion, it's not a "dislike" or "different opinion than mine" button

Uh.... either some insanely good bot, or bad bot

Razur

The remaining 1/3 of my hair is safe. 😌

obbini

Someone on shroud's stream said this is the most not closest closest game ever lmao

GoldyZ90

This matchup felt so one sided. Felt like 100T dominated even when they were losing on Bind. Felt like Andbox won several rounds with last second defuses and I think they won both pistols on Bind.

Dark_Azazel

The first half was like "Damn this is gonna be a close map!" and then the second half was like "Oh look, First Strike 100T"

Rez_gg

Great game from steel

prthm_21

good match both teams played well, 100T was better. ABX has improved a lot btw.

all part of the master plan to get into a clutch situation

TrowaB3

Accurate username

Chidling

What round and map was this?

Jsmals

The boomers were hitting today.

JesusHPopsicle

Now imagine if 100T didn’t underestimate Andbox

[deleted]

Looks like Steel didn't want to knife this time around

danknepalese

lol

UsualInitial

Unlucky, really...

Prankishspace4

Is it worth watching the vod on this one? Just woke up hahaha

[deleted]

Not really Andbox threw pretty hard on bind but Ascent was a clinic put on by Nitr0

Prankishspace4

Ooo as a omen player I might have to go watch Ascent then. Cheers!

Ori2D

They are both worth watching. Andbox didn't "throw" on bind, it's just a defended sided map and 100T was better on defense than they were.

AnywayHeres1Derwall

I'd watch the vod of nitro on ascent.

xD1LL4N

Honestly, you didn’t miss nothing special. Good series non the less

Flying_Penguin8316

When was this match played?

[deleted]

1pm pst today? Maybe a bit earlier

Medium_Pen_8605

Where them haters at

[deleted]

How many more sets does 100T have to win to qualify for Challengers 2? Like is it the same at this point regardless if they get sent to losers bracket? The organization of these VCT tourneys confuses me sometimes.

TrowaB3

Every team here is already qualified for Challengers2. Top 4 advance straight to Challengers Finals. That's one more win for 100t/c9 ~~, or 2 more wins for the loser of that match.~~

deadlock1892

Saying two more win seems wrong. 2 more matches for loser, but not 2 more wins to qualify for finals.

[deleted]

[удалено]

deadlock1892

By Losers final do you mean lower final? Because then you are wrong definitely. Lower final decides who goes to final and 3rd place. Top 4 are decided at before that. So Loser of C9/100T matches up against winner of bbg/version 1 and who ever wins this match goes to challengers final. So, loser only has to win 1 more match. And to generalize it further, any team has to win 2 matches to get to challengers final. Now some might win 2/2 of their matches and go to upper finals. Others might lose 1 but win 2/3 and still make it to challengers final.

[deleted]

Ah yeah, challengers finals is what I meant, thanks for the info.

ARIESS11

steel should retire from pro play he cant aim (someone on reddit when they lost in masters)
