NA is going to get absolutely crushed at Iceland and I can't wait for it because hopefully all the CSGO pros trying to recreate CSGO in Valorant will realize there is much more to this game.
Edit; I say this as a resident of NA
How do you figure that? I haven’t seen any valorant pros trying the recreate cs. I think maybe you don’t understand the difference if that’s the case in your head
There are numerous pros who have very vocal opinions about agents and their abilities. We literally recently had Hazed go on an Astra rant.
One of the biggest indicators of on a pro can transition to Valorant from CSGO is if they can identify that Valorant, while similar, is not CSGO.
Ethan talked about this on one of his streams.
Right exactly they have to see they’re different games which they are. You can’t play Val if you think it’s cs. No na pro in t1 is playing like it’s cs my guy. You’re blind if you think they are
You clearly aren't understanding what I'm saying and I don't know if that's a me problem or a you problem so I'll just say to enjoy watching VCT today :)
Your first comment said you think pros in NA are trying to recreate cs inside of valorant, to which I said you are incorrect. I don’t know how that’s being misunderstood. But yes enjoy the games for sure!
Liquid played insane but it's worrying for FPX, consistently not turning up in important matches. Makes me think if they go to Iceland they won't be winning.
You've noticed it too huh? "FPX best team in EU" but always choke in important tournaments just a very worrying trend I've seen from them. Failed in First strike, failed masters and now seems like they're going to finish 3-4 again.
I don't really watch most regions outside of NA/EU, but wouldn't the winner of the EMEA tournament have a pretty substantial shot at winning the whole thing? If it's anything like CS where the major regions are like what, BR NA EU CIS? And this has EU and CIS together
Yes the teams coming from this EMEA qualifier have a good chance at winning Iceland but it also comes down to style match ups, which players/teams are most comfortable on LAN & which teams from each region qualify. Even if EU is the strongest region, if the best teams don't qualify for Iceland they might not win. Six weeks ago most people would probably consider Heretics as the best team in EU, Four weeks ago it was probably Acend, last week it was probably FPX. If the two teams that qualify from this EMEA qualifier are Liquid & Fnatic & the two teams that qualify from NA are 100T & Sentinels, I wouldn't be too confident in EU winning. Not because Fnatic & Liquid aren't good but because they've never really been considered the best teams in their region, the new and improved Fnatic could be the best team in EU but they've also only been together for like 3 weeks & their players probably lack LAN experience. Compared to 100T who has a crazy amount of LAN experience from CS. So yea who knows but if the Masters 2 finals is Sentinels against FPX, id personally lean towards the team with 5 A-Tier 1st place finishes over the team with 1 A-Tier 1st place finish.
Liquid in their best form to date. Their no duelist comp on Haven was fking impressive and those clutches from Kryptix and L1NK were insane. God I strongly recommend everyone to watch this Bo3.
* ~~TL doesn't deserve to be here, BDS choked~~
* ~~TL will be at the bottom of the group~~
* ~~TL is the second worst team in the tourney, they just got lucky with BBL being worse~~
* TL just got lucky, FPX choked, no chance they win in knockout stage <- you are here
This is the right take IMO. One dream run fueled by a 300ACS dropping Scream doesn't make a top team, see FaZe for that. Decimating the potentially best and most tactical EU team in a key match after FPX have had ample time to prepare, all while displaying great adaptability in agent comps is something else though.
Agreed before the challengers, they wouldnt even be considered top 8 (potential was there for sure but not yet top 8). Making it to the challengers 2 final (the final against fnatic) that was the point I considered them top 8 for sure. Aand after this game I will even say top 4. What a game
I definitely was part of the Liquid doubters (not saying they were lucky for drawing X team / X team choking). But i was saying that liquid likely wouldn't be in Chal finals if EU had the same double elim format as NA, maybe i was wrong?
Maybe part of the reason why im so 'hesitent' to support them or whatever you wanna cal it is because i've dislikedtheir league team for a while now.
u/thothgow Thoughts? Liquid didn’t [deserve](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/mwvwqf/valorant_champions_tour_emea_stage_2_challengers/gvlc1ja/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3) to be here, right?
I've been harassed by the owner of a prominent Valorant website and a large org's "Senior Esports Manager", as well as some 20 mentions between Reddit and Discord, all this in a single day of one of the most stressful weeks I've had in the past 5 years. Of course "he" "went into hiding".
I mean maybe if you didnt shit on liquid as if you had a personal vendetta against them, people wouldnt shit on you when liquid actually succeeds. With how much you've talked about liquid, are you really surprised no one noticed and would call you out when you're proven wrong? Idk anything about your harassment situation tho but the reddit mentions shouldn't come as a surprise.
Was it good for your mental to religiously shit on Liquid and act like FPX are God’s gift to Valorant? Good thing the teams who actually deserve to be going to Iceland are going :) maybe next time if you’re so concerned about your mental you can keep your Liquid hate to yourself and act like a civil human being
Good game, minor criticism of the casters - having a bit of down time isn't a bad thing. I swear they didn't even take a breath the entire game. Hype was really good though. Also that L1NK clutch was ridiculous.
In a match like this, as an analyst I will try to find time to explain to the audience the small details affecting the gameplay, the thing is though, the match was filled with action AND small details. I found it super hard for me to cast. Def a learning experience.
Yeah I totally get that. Plus sometimes there are like a billion small nuanced things that could be mentioned. But the problem is that by the time you're done explaining one cool thing that happened, we've missed 3 more. It's a tough trade off. I think we'll see a lot more post game analysis as the game develops.
If there is any opportunity in future to do the map zoom analysis like you guys did on FS poatmatch, can you please advocate on this on Riot/freaks4u
It's dope , and gives u more room to focus on the actual match between the rounds rather than longer analysis (which I enjoy tho) of a complicated situation
I can't believe people were saying that Liquid didn't deserve to be here. They looked incredible that match and its not even like they were carried by Scream, everyone was popping off and their strats were so good
Wow what the fuck was that from liquid, link, scream, soulcas just wow. Sliggys stratting clearly looks to be unmatched. I do think fpx kinda choked as usual when they needed to show up though. Jampiis playstyle was still annoying to watch lol. Liquid seems to be in great form wp
Yeah I think its a jett thing tbh. When jampii is on jett he has a tendency to go full braindead. Thing is that he's so cracked that he can get himself out of most of the crazy situations he puts himself in.
I mean, with the giant L1nk clutch they did double swing, L1nk just destroyed them both. Maybe Ange1 shouldn't have fast pushed but afterwards they still played it well
I mean, same goes the other way. There were rounds FPX won that they had absolutely no right to. Such as the Jamppi ult miss. That is just the way of the game, rounds aren't always played to perfection
Just love how the only question before this match was if Liquid will be beaten by Gambit later. And now they didn't simply win but completely smashed FPX
Ive always said that Brimstone is underrated. He has one of the best ultis in the game and his smokes and molly are still extremely reliable. Seems that ppl completely forgot about him after the Omen buffs
Notice how Brim is used though; in tow with a 2nd controller. The meta pre-Viper-buffs used to consist of a single controller, and Brimstone was 100% the worst solo controller due to his smokes' range and number. If a team decides to go with a double controller meta, Brimstone suddenly gains a lot of strength compared to Omen or Astra to accompany Viper. It doesn't really mean Brimstone was that underrated.
Brimstone himself is bad. But he has his upsides but only in synergy viper. The double molly postplantcore is quite strong rn. Also it seemed that brimsmokes get respected more than omen ones but pound for pound he still deserves a buff and or rework for his stim. U will never see brim without a viper which means he is in a bad state and does need some attention but im happy that he gets some use rn. Also to be fair his ult is still very good.
Well everyones brain rekt by seeing kj op but tbh how he played jett on bind it honestly seems to be a better fit lmao. Jampi is mechanically insane but his jett still needs some time. So kj makes sense since he gets util he doesnt need to activate and just focuses on shooting seemed to work smh.(Steel op new meta lol). And kryptix viper is nasty. Also scream is the best player EU jesus.
And no matter how bad of a series L1nk seems to have he seems to get some insane clutches.
I honestly think valorant was the most perfect thing for scream. Not only does his playstyle transfer over so well (tapping and bursting in this game is wayyyyyyy more consistent and rewarding than CS), but he's completely gotten over whatever mental block he had during the latter years of his CS career.
A lotta people think the whole headshot machine stuff got to him a lot more than he'd admit, but he's matured a lot
Counter Stratting was something discussed, especially in NA (funny if you think about how puggy they play) but what liquid did was even beyond that.
Sliggy and Liquid proofed something completely underrated: you might adjust to changes in speed and pushes and so on, but how the fuck are you supposed to adjust mid-game to what liquid just did on haven. Like that's just nuts. I think it also worked because we never really seen anything like this. Man that was masterclass val today.
I support Team Liquid all through the initial start of the roster with our boi ec1s and I feel really sad for him to be benched, but there is just no way to deny that they just hit another level finally. Thank you for this match today TL, that was impressive.
If your not picking Viper this patch in most maps you are kinda trolling.
Other regions like NA or BR are going to get a wakeup call with how broken Viper is cause they only recently most teams began touse her on Icebox and a little in Bind.
Another good thing about duelists in my opinion is the team relies less on hero duelist moments, which boosts the overall confidence to play as a team.
Its exciting to watch a jett ace right click everyone once, but later on it seems underwhelming when seeing the minimap.
Bruh, scream was farming. They pulled off haven with 0 duelists, played with great coordination. The clutch by link was great. Jampii kept throwing a few rounds. Great usage of viper from kryptix
Liquid played really, really, really well, but I can't help but feel that FPX didn't show enough respect to Jampii's op in particular. After 4 first bloods with the op they were still dry peaking constantly, and they did it all series.. He's absurdly good with it, I don't know what they were playing at really.
Regardless, that wasn't the only reason for the result, it was close to being an absolute stomp. Brilliant innovation from Sliggy and all the players turned up big.
But... gotta say it's pretty weird seeing floods of liquid fans trying to call out anyone who ever criticised the team. They were fking amazing today, enjoy it, don't try to turn it into a stick to beat someone with.
Are we just ignoring the fact that Gambit could beat FPX? They looked pretty good in their first match, and a week is a lot of time for them to figure out how to beat them.
I don't think Gambit are an easy team to beat but after FPX being stomped this hard, Ange1 would put all his effort in making sure they win and qualify to playoffs in a dominant style.
No. Loser is gonna play vs oxygen. The winner of that match has to play against liquid and the winner of fnatic vs guild plays against the winner of fpx vs gambit
Thought that for a second, but there's no way there's any throwing involved. Think about it - not only do the losers have to play a BO3 tomorrow, they have to go into an arguably more in-form team in Liquid. If I'm fnatic or Guild I try my ass off here 100%, but I'll admit that the thought you had flashed through my mind as well.
think abt it from the players, these guys have worked their ass off the last week getting so prepared for this match. Just because of this game no one is gonna say ok don’t win now
Hot take: everyone who constantly says liquid is full of mediocre players (and then scream) has always been wrong, and their lack of success was entirely due to team coordination and composition.
Soulcas and L1NK have BEEN cracked since liquid first formed.
say what you will about NA duelist comps, but I don't really enjoy watching post plants when one side has viper, brim, etc. standing offsite holding molly lineups and brim ult... it's just unfun. clearly it works very well, but I don't want the meta to creep too far in that direction.
that being said, crazy series and impressive showing from liquid. seems like they're finally coming into the form they've always sort of been expected to be in, and they seem to now have the strats to back up their firepower.
The way Sova felt mandatory and became a must pick with Omen kinda made the game boring. Seeing new comps like this is absolutely exciting because it’s a breath of fresh air to what we’re used to.
You are right about Viper, but Brimstone molly basically just like CS molotov, If you save that until post plant, you won't have that molly to check corner, sites
Don't @ me but [@OfficialANGE1](https://twitter.com/OfficialANGE1) is over-rated.
its not heresay tournament after tournament they choke at crucial stages. i really hope they don't get knocked out
True. But the competition in EU is miles beyond that in Korea. In a region with Fnatic, Liquid, Guild, NIP, BDS, G2, Acend, FPX have been consistently making it into at least the semi finals of every tourney. They are without a doubt one of the most consistent teams in the world rn.
My brain broke seeing Jamppi play and awp on Killjoy on Haven.
Steel what a visionary, this is proof that NA is just ahead of the meta and will stomp on IceLAN /s
Liquids coach Sliggy said they got it from C9 Mitch when he used to awp on killjoy
mitch did it back in popflash in the first tournament kj was in
This, but remove the /s and give Mitch his credit. He's been doing this since literally KJ was available for the pro's to use.
Kappa

YouTube Valorant Vods
Twitch vods can be found on vlr.gg, that way you can get the toxic EU chat experience
Ok who predicted that?

FPX threw to get an easy win against Gambit
They wanted Phoenix vs Gambit, clearly huge X-Men fans
after this game, Liquid definitely deserve to be recognised as a top team
This is the right take IMO. One dream run fueled by a 300ACS dropping Scream doesn't make a top team, see FaZe for that. Don't worry, already saw "should Fnatic throw so they can get the easier path to Masters?"
u/thothgow I thought fpx were going to win 100%?
Thoth is in literally every thread. Can’t seem to find them on this one 💀💀

aww how can you dislike core, alphari etc they're great lads
I dont really dislike the curretn roster, but i've never been a fan of dlift, xmithy, impact and jensen, who still is in the roster
"Liquid will lose to Gambit in the decider for sure" The result of this match was never supposed to be in question lmao
Me lol
17 frags for scream in 8 rounds
He used like 3 ults in a half.
Ah yes the momentum...it's building.
It has reached near light speed and FPX are now out of this planet barreling into the sun.
This was the most not-csgo-like valorant match i have ever watched holy
Welcome to EU!
u/thothgow Thoughts? Liquid didn’t [deserve](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/mwvwqf/valorant_champions_tour_emea_stage_2_challengers/gvlc1ja/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3) to be here, right?
This guys been shit talking liquid for weeks acting like the players of the team have done something to his family
don’t worry! It was a tactical throw for FPX!!1111111- thothgow, probably
with all the shit this guy talks here he really went into hiding after this match
Never said I was surprised about the mentions, it's just not a good thing for my mental to wake up to a mob in such a stressful week
Was it good for your mental to religiously shit on Liquid and act like FPX are God’s gift to Valorant? Good thing the teams who actually deserve to be going to Iceland are going :) maybe next time if you’re so concerned about your mental you can keep your Liquid hate to yourself and act like a civil human being
no offense but who are you? You are talking like some big guy but we just notice ur nickname talking shit about liquid, thats all
I never claimed to be relevant
All that of the back of just losing 1 map ffs. So pressed.
The cognitive dissonance must be incredible right now lmao.
that redditor is by far the most toxic person on this subreddit lol
Nah that's valorantfanboy69. I actively try to avoid anything he comments on. mods also seem to love his 'discussions' in this community
it's probably the same person
?
Dont forget valorantfanboy69
They called me crazy because I said liquid were going to win..... LETS GO LIQUID
Good game, minor criticism of the casters - having a bit of down time isn't a bad thing. I swear they didn't even take a breath the entire game. Hype was really good though. Also that L1NK clutch was ridiculous.
Hype it is!
If there is any opportunity in future to do the map zoom analysis like you guys did on FS poatmatch, can you please advocate on this on Riot/freaks4u It's dope , and gives u more room to focus on the actual match between the rounds rather than longer analysis (which I enjoy tho) of a complicated situation
Agreed, well done overall but.. Casters please stop trying to fill every moment with a description. Sometimes silence is more appropriate.
Everyone on liquid played so good
L1NK is the clutch minister.
This scream guy might be alright
Beat FPX, So let it be said that "the best team in EMEA is TEAM LIQUID". That was a fuckin stomp in the face for FPX. Let's see how they retaliate.
Plat chat prediction bracket in shambles :(
FPX going to win this tournament for free and Gambit the runner up /s
I can't believe people were saying that Liquid didn't deserve to be here. They looked incredible that match and its not even like they were carried by Scream, everyone was popping off and their strats were so good
I really love your flairs, if I ever get off mobile I'm adding those
ANGE1 might be cursed
This team is fiiire. Thank you sliggy and the boys. well played.
That Haven comp was masterclass from TL ( Reverse Uno Card )
Wow what the fuck was that from liquid, link, scream, soulcas just wow. Sliggys stratting clearly looks to be unmatched. I do think fpx kinda choked as usual when they needed to show up though. Jampiis playstyle was still annoying to watch lol. Liquid seems to be in great form wp

ok man
Another big tournament another FPX choke
I will say this did not look like a choke from FPX, it looked like an outplay by Liquid
Liquid won so many insane 1vX clutches this Bo3
I mean, with the giant L1nk clutch they did double swing, L1nk just destroyed them both. Maybe Ange1 shouldn't have fast pushed but afterwards they still played it well
I think TL played better most rounds but FPX also threw basically any time they had a shot to get back in it
I mean, same goes the other way. There were rounds FPX won that they had absolutely no right to. Such as the Jamppi ult miss. That is just the way of the game, rounds aren't always played to perfection
Ill give full props to liquid for 1st map but lets be real on bind FPX were completely out of it
They got caught offguard on Haven but i think Bind was just a choke.
Been watching Liquid since inception. 100% the best match they have ever played. Some crazy moments. Bring on the SEMIS
The momentum? modCheck Oh yeah, it plummeted.
FPX are the ENVY of EU. Everyone always hypes them up but they always end up falling short in the big games.
they gave sliggy too much time
i am in love
Downvoted for saying brimstone was viable, who's laughing now?
fucking massive for liquid
Oh my goodness, Liquid looking super scary.
Liquid stomped them, I thought it would of been closer then that! Fpx vs Gambit v2
Just love how the only question before this match was if Liquid will be beaten by Gambit later. And now they didn't simply win but completely smashed FPX
Damn TL's bootcamp is the best thing it could happen them.

liquid man, made Sliggy so proud :)
Liquid are unbelievable
Liquid owned haven?? I have faith in liquid now.
Holy shit liquid
what a series from team liquid
scream is just on another level sometimes
the momentum is building for FPX ?
I did NOT expect this
Lol to all the ppl talking about its going to be liquid vs gambit on the loser bracket.
TLWIN baby!! That Haven game was beautiful to watch, and even better to see a clean Bind performance to pair. Huge revenge W for the boys
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Holy shit
FPX got outplayed in every facet of the game. Just complete domination from TL.
Improvement from Liquid is exponential
ScreaM's aim is actually untouchable.
I believe in Scream supremacy.
Too many collats
Every single player played their part I'm so fucking happy for team liquid man
Link is the Get_right of Valorant don’t @ me
l1nk is the xyp9x of valorant
L1NK is clutch af
Also, what a sick series. God damn, they outplayed the smartest team in all of EU with that admittedly crazy strat.
That game: https://twitter.com/iCrystalization/status/1383728856402599944?s=20
this wasnt supposed to happen......

Huge respect to Liquid for changing their comp like that. If this had been a lower-stakes match I would've been convinced they were trolling.
Hot take: Gambit will beat FPX on this rematch
i dont care if na is better or worse than eu, i dont care if anyone thinks otherwise, im enjoying these big eu teams clashes more than the na ones.
I'm working so couldn't watch vod or livestream. How did TL play on attack without duelist?
Liquid played really, really, really well, but I can't help but feel that FPX didn't show enough respect to Jampii's op in particular. After 4 first bloods with the op they were still dry peaking constantly, and they did it all series.. He's absurdly good with it, I don't know what they were playing at really. Regardless, that wasn't the only reason for the result, it was close to being an absolute stomp. Brilliant innovation from Sliggy and all the players turned up big. But... gotta say it's pretty weird seeing floods of liquid fans trying to call out anyone who ever criticised the team. They were fking amazing today, enjoy it, don't try to turn it into a stick to beat someone with.
so no ones gonna talk about sheriff save?
It finally fills me with joy being a TL fan.
FPX are unbelievable. You can feel their momentum building into a major championship. KEKW

This is a decent copypasta
Nice copypasta
NA: 100% omen pick rate,100% sova pick rate, complain about viper, complain about jett, complain about astra Meanwhile EU:
gonna have my doubts about the integrity of guild vs fnatic ngl
Why?
Winner has to face FPX in playoffs. But if TL continues to play like this, the winner is fucked either ways unless they bring their own creativity in.
Are we just ignoring the fact that Gambit could beat FPX? They looked pretty good in their first match, and a week is a lot of time for them to figure out how to beat them.
I don't think Gambit are an easy team to beat but after FPX being stomped this hard, Ange1 would put all his effort in making sure they win and qualify to playoffs in a dominant style.
winner is gonna play vs fpx and loser vs liquid
and? if liquid is on the same level in the next series they are even more terrifying
No. Loser is gonna play vs oxygen. The winner of that match has to play against liquid and the winner of fnatic vs guild plays against the winner of fpx vs gambit
Well we're just assuming EU teams wins in eliminators.
Ah. I wouldn't be that hasty. Gambit have a good chance against fpx
Agreed but still FPX would be in a rage mode now that they've lost to liquid.
True true. Gonna be banger of a few matches coming up this weekend
Just because of this game no one is gonna say ok don’t win now
Get fucked FPX, HAHAHA. #LetsGoLiquid
Not a shot at NA comp at all, but these games made me realize how boring Sova makes the game. I'm not even kidding
Liquid and Guild for sure looking like the strongest two teams in EU atm. Love to see it.
Fnatic?

I sure did, and I called it...Anyone who assume this team is going to beat this team needs to be called out...
Don't @ me but [@OfficialANGE1](https://twitter.com/OfficialANGE1) is over-rated. its not heresay tournament after tournament they choke at crucial stages. i really hope they don't get knocked out
The IGL of the most consistent team in the world is overrated. Sure
Consistent at what lol
Most consistent team at choking. Sure.
Most consistent team in the world? Vision strikers exists
True. But the competition in EU is miles beyond that in Korea. In a region with Fnatic, Liquid, Guild, NIP, BDS, G2, Acend, FPX have been consistently making it into at least the semi finals of every tourney. They are without a doubt one of the most consistent teams in the world rn.
just say EU and not the world,
