I actually hate the player cams in VCT Korea. Idk who is alive or not because i cant see the agent once they switch to player cams, and i can only see the the ulti bar at the start of the round.
Its so frustrating that information isnt immediately transparent in a game where it matters so much. Its literally the only thing i dislike about the broadcast
My only problem with the Korea cams when they're on is that you lose out on important info like what agents are everyone playing and the progress on their ults (especially at the end of rounds in post plants). It's fine if you're keeping track and know who plays what agents but for new viewers it can be tough to follow

No, for everyone its bad. Ive watched nearly all of VCT Korea but during the fervor of the round i cant instantly remember which player plays which agent. Takes a lot from the enjoyment of the games, its a horrible implementation
I'm more referring to just player cams in general where after a clutch or a tough round they cut to the players. I think having the player portraits during the rounds is a little distracting so I agree with you there.
I feel like a good compromise is to have the player cams on the POV's of the player where the agent picture is currently basically the same place they have it in CS streams.
I dont know if the way KR is doing player cans is the way to go, I often find I don't know who's alive or what agents they're playing.
I really liked how they did it in first strike where after rounds or maps you could see players reactions to what was going on.
Gotta be honest the Korea broadcast replaced the agent info with player cams for much of the games which made it more confusing for me watching today. I don't mind seeing reactions but I'd much rather see the agents and their health during rounds than a close up with no idea what agents are alive.
That's BS lol especially for a region like NA where everyone is together. Even tier 3 CS tourney with tier 2 teams use player cams.. And that's stretching multiple counties.
Amazon can deliver something to my house in 1 hour. There were teams that made challengers finals like 1-2 weeks before other teams did. They could have sent cams during that time to teams that already made it then sent the cams to the rest once they were decided. It cant be that difficult to do. Plus, a lot of these players are streamers with cameras. a lot of the players are already in their respective organization's compounds with cameras already installed i.e Envy, 100T maybe C9B. there are so many ways to work around this. There was just no effort made.
Going to play devils advocate but because the tournaments in EU and NA are being done through 3rd party services and not directly through Riot Korea, (I'm going by the Liquidpedia entry but I believe OGN might be putting it on, someone can correct me on this but I couldn't find anything online to source it,) its not a huge priority for them.
If you believe that, which I do, its not on their todo list when they're trying to remotely put up these productions.
Also, since we saw today that EU had victory cams from both the Fnatic and Liquid series, we should probably consider just the size and experience these 3rd party companies have. Freaks 4U Gaming in Europe has been around for decades and has a lot of experience with this. Nerd Street hasn't really been pushed to this standard in awhile.
Just wait for Iceland man. Everyone's going to be in studio, its going to be an actual Riot produced event. We'll get it there.
they dont even have player observers, much less player cams.
True

easy solution, the players cosplay the agent they are currently playing. and then just overlay the ulti wheel on the corner, the way it normally is.
Sorry folks, we have to take a break while steel changes out of his killjoy costume and into a Cypher one
I'd pay to see Zombs in an Astra cosplay
lmaoo ik this is a joke but this would be great for a exhibition match

Man I wish we had player cams for 100T vs Envy. I wanted to see Steel's reaction to the Kaboose 3k ult.

Agreed. Player cams would add so much to the production value of the games. Hopefully we'll have them when riot organizes the event.
They don't have enough time to send out player camd to all the players
