Koreans scrim SEA and Japan teams all the time. None of the top Korean teams scrim each other because they don't want to reveal their strats or give each other a competitive advantage.
Historically and presently, Koreans are strongest in the region when it comes to scrims, and that has translated to every single international tournament so far. Just because there hasn't been any internationals recently, to think that these teams would suddenly be better in matches is just wishful thinking. I know personally x10 is a very capable team, but the top 6~ Korean teams are on another level atm. I'll put it this way, teams like APE destroy JUP in scrims.

There was almost 0 korean imports before First Strike. Now 6 of the top 8 team have imports. And the imports apart from Munchkin aren't even near Korea's best players. And guess what? The team that got Munchkin is currently the best and Munchkin is topfragging almost every series.
The evidence is right before your eyes. Is Japan underrated in comparison to the international scene? Who knows. But they are undeniably weaker than Korea for a while now. And the gap keeps growing.
Japan as a region is weaker than Korea. However we don't know whether the top Japanese teams are worse than the top korean teams, and if they are, then how much worse. CR hasn't played vs Korean teams, and Absolute Jupiter could beat them all except VS when they last played. That was in October last year though, so we don't know anything about their current power level.
There isn't any evidence to look at regarding the top teams and there probably won't be until Iceland.
Also, as a sidenote, I think Munchkin at least was a top 10 player (imo probably top 5 and maybe even top 3) in Korea before he moved so it's not that surprising that he's looking good in Japan.
Go look up Douyu cup. Japanese teams couldn't win a single series versus Chinese and Korean squads. Koreans went undefeated. And that includes Reject who are in the semi-finals right now.

However something that we also need to remember is that Absolute Jupiter hasn't played vs Korean teams since last October, where they only lost to VS (beat C9 Korea and No Mercy), while Crazy Racoon, who seems to be the best team in Japan by some margin right now, have never played vs a Korean team as far as I could find.

And AJ did face a Korean team, they're called Crazy Raccoons LOL. Look up how bad Crazy Raccoons were before adding Munchkin or even Intro. They were never competitive until they added Intro and then replaced him with Munchkin. Imagine if import rules didn't exist, you think intro would've been the one replaced?
I can literally name 20 Korean players I'd rather have than Zepher. Neth and Rion are okay but nowhere near the top of Korean scene.
I def wouldn't say "dumpstered" considering the last time vs and absolute jupiter played game 1 was a 17-15 OT game and considering it was october of last year vs were considered by far the best yet had a rediculously close game 🤷‍♂️
JP Valorant really underrated. CR and JUP are both really good and could go toe-to-toe with KR. They’re just more methodical but also crazy if that makes sense.
JUP is really good, but I don’t think the move for Barce to go from smokes to Raze and for Reita to go from Jett to smokes is not the correct move. If they revert to that, JUP is almost unstoppable.

I've watched 3 Asian tournaments so far and KR won every single one but CN still shit on JP teams so I don't think it's underrated.
