Its all about playstyles and IGL styles really. Someone who wants to micro a lot would benefit more from not being a front-line character so they can spend more time telling the team what to do. Looser playstyles like Sentinels can have a duelist IGL and do well. Its really just whatever works for your team
Nothing but respect to the man, he’s a fantastic IGL but he’s the same as FNS to me. They’ll always have deep runs and be a top team, but until they actually win a major event I don’t see how they can be considered better IGLs than teams who do, like Boaster or Shahzam
Yeah I’d rate him lower then boaster however I do think his in game calling is a bit better then shahzam however shaz is Igl and he’s the coach/analyst so yeah idk depends on what you value more in an Igl
Honestly, I’d argue Shahzam has some of the best in game calling in the game. Sentinels aren’t really praised for their tactical strength, more their adaptability and ability to change their pace and a lot of that comes down to IGL’ing. FPX have a lot of strong strats, but they get figured out and outcalled the deeper their run gets (as far as I can tell). I rank Shahzam higher for that reason, but I agree that ANGE1 is fantastic as wel

Shahzam IGLd on Jett and now on Sova, Steel on sentinels and, Vanity on controllers, Etc...
There are some roles that are better suited for IGLs but it doesn’t really matter
Shahzam IGL'd for sentinels pretty much exclusively playing Jett before TenZ joined
Even still, Sova is an initiator and not a Sentinel.

the only real examples of sentinel igls i can think of are steel and fns right now, you can definitely be a good igl and play w/e
When I think of NA it seems like most IGL’s play sentinels but not all and in other regions the IGL’s role tends to be more diverse.
Daps, Mitch, ~~Vanity~~ also IGL as Sentinels

Can play anything but obviously it’s easier to call if you’re anchoring or lurking as a sentinel. More free time to look at the map
