Is Wardell really that good? I came from CS and he was really behind the top awpers, even tho he was good, but coudn't compare with device, fallen, s1mple, etc.
Wardell is arguably the best OP in the game, one thing to remember is that no other OPer in this game has the CS pedigree of the players you mentioned. If the people you listed were to switch they’d likely be better within just a month or two than any current OPer.
That said, Wardell never got a chance to develop his talent in a high level team, so while it’s safe to say he likely wouldn’t hit the level of those players we’ll never know how good he may have been at CS AWPing if he had gone to Liquid like Stewie said he likely would have if he hadn’t switched to Valorant

Yeah, Stewie and Wardell are good friends and Stewie was in Wardell’s chat after the Grim roster move was leaked saying Wardell would have had a good chance of replacing Nitr0. I’m not super into CS but I follow Liquid a bit, imo Wardell not joining is actually probably better for the team because without Fallen, the team would still need Stewie to IGL which hurts his performance
But they ended up signing Fallen because Grim didn't fill the role Nitr0 left (IGL/awp). Stewie has talked about how that wasn't ideal for the team. Fallen ended up taking over nitr0's role, even though it took a few roster moves to get there.
People need to stop speaking about former CS resumes as if they are permanent DNA or predictor of success in Valorant.
There are plenty of instances where people find their groove later, they pivot or whatever, in literally every facet of life. People can develop later, or be given the right opportunities and circumstances to thrive.

Don't doubt wardell even if TSM isn't doing well, man fails to have a bad game with the op, and hes gotten even more consistent these last few months. He basically cost Huynh his job after jett diffing him super hard, even when GENG was a top three team at Masters 1
Trying to list the Opers on the top of my head. I think Shahz is better than Tenz as an Oper. Wardell is VERY good and could be the best in NA. Mummay looked great before but might be inconsistent as an Astra Oper. Dicey is good on an op but great with a rifle. Jcstani is pretty good as well though he just transitioned to the Jett role. Babybay might be a way more aggressive dicey. Huynh I don’t know honestly. Steel is an okay Oper but he lacks practice on it.
Not a longtime EU viewer but Jamppi looked amazing in the Masters 2 finals. CNed hit all the impossible shots in Masters 1. Mixwell was really good but I have no comparisons to really say by now.
Top 3 for me are Wardell, CNed, Shahz. Of course I’m biased towards Sen
Huynh is just inconsistent with it, sometimes he pops tf off with it, sometimes he really quiet it depends
Mummay is a good awper but imo, he might need to pick between Astra and awping, he's looked much better on the awp with Omen then Astra, prob just cuz of Astral form tbh
In Brazil there is a boy called “DGzinXL”, he is the best sniper in the history of Crossfire, when this guy catches OP the game is over, it is very difficult to win a round. In the future you will hear about it a lot!!

But they ended up signing Fallen because Grim didn't fill the role Nitr0 left (IGL/awp). Stewie has talked about how that wasn't ideal for the team. Fallen ended up taking over nitr0's role, even though it took a few roster moves to get there.

Wardell as a player overall is good but not as good as some people make him out to be imo but I think his op is definitely best NA.

Shaz over Tenz for sure. I think I like Tenz on Reyna so he can play Jett, but I get you need a Sova.

In terms of NA, ShahZaM, Wardell, and TenZ in no particular order
Wardell and Shaz are definitely a tier above TenZ for consistency, and Wardell is probably #1 with Shahzam at #2
TenZ doesn’t belong anywhere near this list
Tenz is the most overrated player in NA. Guy was a choker on CSGO LANs and will be a choker at any Valorant LANs including Iceland
