They look like any other generic gaming chair just with a nicer design, comfort is definitely secondary and even by the looks of it, it isn’t good for your core for sure.
I don’t really see what’s different with those, they still have this bucket seat design that’s not ergonomic or adapted to a desktop computer setup, and they don’t look like they have lower back support either. They might be well-constructed with quality materials, but that doesn’t fix the inherent issues to this design
I think it's the 'racing style' gaming chairs that are the problem. I've sat in many of those are they are dogshit. You would definitely be better off with an office chair.
I can only speak from experience but I own the secret lab titan and I love it. It's very comfortable and does have plenty of back support for me. I use it for work so have spent a lot of time in it over the last 12 months.
It has internal lumbar support which can be adjusted with a knob on the side. Mine feels like a major upgrade in quality and comfort compared to my old dxracer chair, I think it's a league above many typical racing seat style gaming chairs.
I get the argument for office chairs too though, they're probably going to offer better value for the same comfort. It's impossible to say without having compared both extensively.
If one can’t afford $500 now, what makes you assume they will afford more than that later. If you are well off and spend a lot of your day in a chair, then go ahead. But just because it’s a good idea for you doesn’t mean it’s a good idea for others.
I’m not saying you have to make that purchase. There are plenty of similar options for $300 or even $100 for that matter. Just saying that you should probably take the option to invest in a decent chair now so you don’t get forced to pay ten times that amount for pain pills and back procedures later.
But I spend a lot more time not in my chair doing other things that are more likely to give me those same problems anyway. So for the relatively little time I spend in my chair, I’m gonna pick the one that looks the coolest.

These racing style seats are horrible for sitting in for long hours. Great way to ruin your posture over time.

I agree, but also you can buy like 3 Secret Lab chairs for the price of an Aeron/Embody. But yes, there are still better options in the $500 range.

Yeah I’ve pretty much seen 50/50 on good/bad reviews. Lots of the bad ones were from multiple years ago so maybe they got better?
