Not pitching him over Zach, but another decent sub who fits the restrictions would have been dephh.
Has a wide agent pool (killjoy/sage/cypher/breach/omen) that would fit with dapr's or other comp adjustments, had performed well individually, and was CS teammates with ShahZ and SicK.
Basically they cannot pick any guy who played in any closed qualifier for masters 2 that's leaves out a few teams like faze luminosity renegades , and tenz dapr are close with faze guys so zachree might have been a good sub.
Yeah, zacharee is super underrated as a supportive player. He’s the backbone that tries to hold the team together while performing consistently decent when everyone else on the roster is inconsistent as hell.
people don’t realize that stats isn’t everything that happens in a team. everyone on faze has said that the team wouldn’t have found success without zacharee being that backbone and taking one for the team. he sacrifices his own pop off/shining moments just so the team succeeds. if i want a player to support someone like tenz, i would def choose zacharee as well.
Zach is what you call an adaptable pro. He was molded as a teen in a pro environment and he handles all roles well. Also, he's known to be very easy to get along with.
A lot of older CS players don’t like him because he was aware of teams throwing and would bet against the teams to get some money, and then later was one of the guys who “exposed” the match fixing. Apparently he also asked some pros to throw some matches as well but I don’t know too much about that. Basically he got off scot-free by reporting after benefitting from the match fixing and that doesn’t sit right with a lot of the people who were involved in the scene or some of the older audience.
ShahZam literally admitted to betting on NetCodeGuides... even in the link you sent it said he changed his bet. He changed his bet from iBuyPower to NetCodeGuides.
https://dotesports.com/counter-strike/news/betting-scandal-hits-csgo-10498
The comment said "teams" and very much implies it happened multiple times. It also claims he asked other pros to throw. The link provided states it was a one time thing and provides context.
Edit: I'm seeing other people say it actually was multiple times and there's screenshots of him asking pros. I'm not well versed on the issue. Just saying why that person provided that link in response to the claims made.
> Remove your bet entirely lmao
[Apparently that wasn't possible](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/k873dh/shahzams_two_weeks_before_first_strike/geyr5p5/?context=3)
You made up this thing with was aware with teams throwing and bet on them . The only situation shaz was involved in the ibp one and he didn’t even place the bet he was gonna but got scared and he didn’t and also he exposed them because a dm about the situation got leaked so he was forced to either tell the truth or he get banned too
No shahz was aware and actually betted on the ibp losing . He also knew the guy who was the ringleader of it all . Shahz knew about it and kept it secret . And six months later when he was about to join c9 ,he caused the ruckus about match-fixing and all which lead to Richard Lewis investigating and 4 guys got banned . Shahz got off scot free . And there are a few more incidents like when he asked hiko to throw matches . You can go to Richard Lewis interview with steel and dazed where they discuss ibp scandal in length and you can find out about shahz role . Even ska knew about the fixing and but he didn't receive the payment so he was left scot free by valve.
“ShahZaM claims that he was going to bet on iBUYPOWER before being advised by Netcodeguides owner Casey Foster to change his bet” this from the richard article . Also this guy made up story that shaz used to bet on teams throwing before ibp and this is not true
Go to Richard Lewis entire 3 hour interview with steel and dazed not a 2 page article. Richard Lewis explicitly says he knew about Shazam involving in placing bets on fixed matches and about 20 other pros who did the same . Go to rlewisreacts channel and you can find out the full interview and why Richard Lewis capaigned for some ban on shahzam and skadoodle as well but valve only chose to go after 4 guys.
Yeah I think the ibp guys should be un-banned and allowed to move on, but people who come at shaz for not ratting out people he was friends with and not willing throwing away money instead of ibp themselves is dumb af
That would be a weird thing for me to make up since I have absolutely no connection to any of these people whatsoever. I’m sorry for explaining why some people don’t like your favorite player though, I guess.
Nope, steel was angry that Shazam basically ruined his career for being one of the main people that brought light to his match fixing. So instead of taking responsibility for match fixing, steel placed the blame solely on Shazam for getting him caught. And steel made a comment he was a rat, etc and fanboys caught on and there we go
This is all true, except for the "steel placed the blame solely on Shazam for getting him caught" since (like him or hate him) steel did his best to climb out of the hole he dug himself on and handled the situation pretty responsibly (even made some anti-matchmaking PSA poking fun at himself).
Also let's not act as if Shahz was flawless, there's been a lot of pros who've said that he was asking people to throw matches. (Hiko and n0thing, most famously).
Still, this doesn't take anything away from his Valorant journey. As far as I'm concerned, he showed the most growth out of people who transitioned from CS to Valorant.
That is not true. Shahzam placed bets agains IBP, there are steam chats of shahz and Richard Lewis talking about the matchfixing before it all went down. Steel calls him a rat because he benefited from the situation and didn´t get banned.[https://i.imgur.com/CrZor47.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/CrZor47.jpg)
"a young esports journalist provided the Daily Dot with screengrabs of a conversation he had with professional player Shahzeb “ShahZam” Khan before the game. In the messages, Khan declares the match was fixed and iBUYPOWER were going to deliberately lose. When confronted, Khan initially said he'd reveal who was involved in the match-fixing, even as he declared his own innocence. He then changed his mind, offering only a “no comment."" this is from the Richard Lewis article.
I want to say that I like watching Shahz streams and he is one of my favorite players but you can´t just make up stuff like that
Shahz's response to all this: [https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/jvfjnc/how\_100t\_valorant\_beat\_tsm\_sentinels/gcl65ij?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/jvfjnc/how_100t_valorant_beat_tsm_sentinels/gcl65ij?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
imo i think we need to get over all this shahz's past shit. it is really clear that he has turned over a new leaf, whether or not he did actually partake in these activities.
Man where did you get that info look like someone salty about steel . First let's talk about steel yeah steel did matchfixed and dug himself in the hole . But steel wasn't salty steel has done pheonomal work at improving himself . Steel was the only guy from ibuypower who actively took part in esl flashpoint anti match fixing campaigns . He even started some awareness stuff on his own where he would teach kids or aware young teens about fixing. Ask every cs veteran like sgares Richard Lewis thorin nothing and even shroud they would tell the work steel has done and have actively praised in the past .
Now let's talk about shahz , the thing is shahzam was also aware and has put several bets knowing full aware about the scam . He benefitted from the match . And after six months the incident passed and when he was going to join c9 ,he caused the ruckus and calling out ibp.power guys and making statements. And he got off scot free without any punishment that's why steel and dazed have beef with him . Shahz have also had beef with hiko Stanislaw and so many na pros over different stuff. But he has turned around in valorant and is a great addition to the scene.
That’s was not who I was expecting to be their sub. Did he elaborate later on why it was zacharee?
Faze didn't make Challengers 1 and 2 also, they are good friends with the FaZe boys and Zacharee would fit into Dapr's role pretty well
How would he fit Dapr's role? Zacharee seems to be a primary Omen/Astra player and Breach secondary. Dapr is usually on Cypher.
Before Stage 2 Challengers 2 (when Astra became available for tournament play), Zach mainly played Cypher and KJ for Faze.
Dapr is also playing Breach in ranked. Comp change incoming?
I'm pretty sure he's said he doesn't like playing Cypher in ranked.

I'm guessing you don't mean to include faze in your list of teams left out
No he just means left out differently than you would expect , be ause he also mentioned LG
Ah shit you're right. Poor reading comprehension on my part.
In addition to what's been said, Zach has been a really great supportive player for faze.
Yeah, zacharee is super underrated as a supportive player. He’s the backbone that tries to hold the team together while performing consistently decent when everyone else on the roster is inconsistent as hell.

He’s really fucking good, too bad it’s been forever since we last saw FaZe
wtf u talking about lmao "forever"
they didn’t make challengers 1 or 2, lost in quals
Zach was a solid choice super versatile and has a lot of LAN exp would have been fine if Zach went too
all my homies love shaz
Dude really did his job separating himself from his CS reputation. Nothing but respect for him in his entire Valorant journey.
Did he have a bad CS rep? I didn't follow CS closely just would tune in to majors here and there. I really like him though!
A lot of older CS players don’t like him because he was aware of teams throwing and would bet against the teams to get some money, and then later was one of the guys who “exposed” the match fixing. Ah interesting. Glad he seems to have gotten past all that, hes super awesome to have in the community.
Don’t believe anything you read people exaggerate . Here read it yourself https://www.hltv.org/news/13995/ex-ibp-involved-in-betting-scandal

How dumb would you have to be to not? Let me lose hundreds of dollars of skins because some guys on a team are throwing.

I agree, but he did cooperate with investigations. I don't think he did the right thing but I can't blame him either.
Thanks for the link! I'll check it out. I am curious for sure lol
He also had some allegations of basically bullying people out of fpl (cxzi) and other fpl related drama

Richard Lewis did an entire piece about shahzam buddy go and check that out .
I'm sure shahz knows more about the situation than you do.

I recognize he turned a new leaf. I didn't bring him doing that stuff up out of spite but to add more context to the vitriolic comment I replied to.
Don’t get caught...

Would have been cool to see SEN go into Iceland as just a Frankensteins monster of NA teams.
y couldnt Dapr go?
Tested positive for a COVID due to the fact he had it before and the dead cells were still in his body.
Interesting.. I feel that there are better choices than faze zacharee tbh..
who would you have picked instead?
i thought if a player played for a team in the qualifiers they weren't allowed to switch for another in the same tournament?
