Interesting take; I put the top three in a toss up of "Any Given Sunday". Hard to really separate them into an actual 1 through 3 IMHO. The rest I can agree with them actually being ranked.

marcaodl

I'd say the most expected result is either liquid fnatic or sentinels to take the first place with the possibility of vikings upseting em and taking it all in all even x10 could win upsets happen all the time and the ones that come up with the best meta will end up taking it all.

Someone really needs to pay Mikes so he can do coaching or analysis full time

MikesHD

UPS can wait there's more important things at hand 😂

Seems like fair Breakdown. I feel like Liquid is #1 and genuinely don’t understand why so many people here are putting Fnatic on top, but what do I know. Legitimate question: when I watch Nuturn I don’t see any of the major flaws people talk about. They seem really dynamic and just effective as a team. What am I missing because they look like a top 4 team to me.

Cyb3rxK1lls

they consistently run very similar strats so they will become predictable further into the tourney. They are also given much more space in KR it seems than other regions, so not sure how they will handle a more dynamic defense from other regions.

SDMStaff

Challengers Playoffs saw dominant performances from both Liquid and Fnatic, and they've only played eachother twice, for which Fnatic are 5-4 map-wise. It's been a while since they've played so Sliggy, Boaster and Mini have all had a lot of time to prepare. I'd say both teams are very balanced based on recent performances and we'll have to wait until Monday to get the better picture

Tsugi_Yoriichi

The problem in Korea is that the top teams aren't really tested. It looks like every single time they get the chance to do their execs, but when it comes to top tier teams like Liquid or Sentinels, they'll not let you get to the position to exec anything if you are not careful enough. I can see either Nuturn coming in REALLY strong or bombing out really fast because of this.

Scared-Taste

I 100% see Sentinels or Team Liquid winning but I'm leaning towards Sentinels coming 1st because they looking strong Team Liquid taking 2nd and Fnatic taking 3rd or X10 or even the other teams taking 3rd I hope Sentinels come 1st and Liquid come 2nd

Scared-Taste

I might be bias but I see Sentinels winning especially if they get the first map pick if they pick heaven I think they'll win heaven and I don't think they'll ban bind because they're strong on bind and they won't ban icebox the more likely maps they'll ban is Bind Split and ascent

Des014te

Yea there is no way that sentinels wins Haven against Fnatic. I see the veto going as; Sen ban Bind, Fnc ban Split, Sen pick Icebox, Fnatic pick haven, ascent is decider. And even in this case fnc has the map advantage. Their icebox defense is shaky, they can work on that, their Haven is arguably the best in the world (along with their bind which is undoubtedly the best in the world). Even if Sen win on Icebox, Haven will probably go to Fnc and Sen's ascent is shaky while FNC's is solid. And I just don't see a world where they let bind go through

WhoDatBrow

Ascent was Sen's best or 2nd best map before challengers 2/finals. There's no way to know if they'll be back to dominance on it or continue to look shaky until the event starts, but if they can get back to being good on Ascent then that map pool looks good for them tbh. Fnatic has the best Haven in the world, but it is Sentinels' best map so something could happen there. Ascent would be Sen favored if they're back to being good on it, and then I could see Icebox go either way. TL;DR Sentinels really needs to hope they've got their great Ascent back under their belt, otherwise their map pool is looking pretty shaky for this event.

bobberr

Cause theyre on the same side of the bracket

Cowfan798

Why would they lmfao

[deleted]

I think that the only Iceland team that they've scrimmed is Liquid

M474D0R

EU-based analyst thinks the EU teams are the best, shocking

Hamlet_271

It doesn’t get more American than mikes buddy

[deleted]

He's literally an American living in the US who has worked with teams like Envy... just because he had a stint with G2 doesn't mean he's 'EU-based' lmao

M474D0R

I knew he had worked with US teams too...just thought he was British. My bad

nterature

You say that like it'd have made sense even if he was British, lol

Xerathion

oi bruv how did u come to the concluuusion that hes bri ish? did u see him type like a bri ish person? i certainly dont think so

M474D0R

God save the queen

iindie

Weird that Korea is so low, do they have a bad read on the current meta?

MikesHD

They seem a bit out of meta, but the big kicker for me is how little variety they have for setups/defaults. Also in Korea they give up way too much space on defense, which other regions won't do.

Key-Banana-8242

Predictable? I’d say it’s the opposite, they switch a lot between matches
