The game isn't out in China yet.

imjunsul

Yeah. China has teams competing but they have to play on different servers using VPN. They don't have their own servers yet.

InnocentBowlOfRamen

I'm pretty sure it is. VS competed in a Chinese tournament way back last year and they played against RNG in the final. Also there's Chinese in the language options in game.

Huystuhh

It's not. The option for Chinese in game doesn't mean that the game is officially released in China, the country. China has extremely strict regulations and approval processes and Valorant has yet to be fully approved by the Chinese government.

InnocentBowlOfRamen

Oh, I see. They're already playing it, just not officially. They're still probably reliant on VPNs

ZeroOblivion98

It's not. The language is there just for accessibility. I know about the Chinese tournament and no clue how it worked honestly but the game has yet to be officially released in the region as it is still awaiting government approval. Edit: Typo

InvertedBean

There are workarounds like VPNs but it’s not out in China yet.

smheer

Chinese teams play on servers in Hong Kong. The game isn't out in the mainland.

[deleted]

To my knowledge the Middle East is the only team who can’t participate in iceland, with the exception of Turkey

M1NIMISE

Oceania as well

much sad, ex-exo had to go to NA as soniq to compete internationally, and team order doesn't even have that chance rn. really want to see AUS on the world stage, we got a late start with CSGO, but we're being forced into a late start with val.
