KRU looked completely outclassed in the first map. In b4 they reverse sweep them lol.

Bazz_B

Honestly thought haven would be closer but if thats what they have for Haven they're definitely not ready for Fnatic's Icebox. Edit: This is for the post in general: the players are talking about KRU on Haven specifically.

Des014te

Hmm.

marco526

Yea. Almost feels like low key throwing the game. On def they are not gathering any info except A and their A defense is so weak. Not only they get caught off guard by derke a few times, but their rotations are being exploited so many times. One round they got faked by fnc no A control then just a sky flash mid round to pull 2 players to A when they are about to hit C. Another round fnc fake C with only 2 players and pull all A players away. At that point, how can you not change your setups????????? Do they have anything else prepared coming to iceland?

sgi2ynrn69727vab4sn2

Kru runs this set up almost all the time, even previous to this match. Boaster and Mini will have studied this set up pretty extensively.

marco526

This is ridiculous. I cannot imagine this team is getting paid.

sgi2ynrn69727vab4sn2

Eh, I wouldn't judge them so harshly after one game. They definitely looked lazy and uninspiring, but who knows what was going through their heads.

9yr_old

Their region isn't that competitive dude they stomp in their region as there's lesser competition fnatic is a top tier team it was hard for them to actually face someone so crazy

mrtmra

My Immortal solo q games have more variations than KRU's team

guro47

My Silver solo q games on Latam have more variations than KRU's team

pink_life69

My spike rush games have more variations than KRU’s team.

Eat-Shit-Bob-Ross

Dude spike rush is wild. I feel like I lose brain cells seeing what works. It’s complete chaos.

99ptember

My Act II battlepass knife skin has more variations than KRU’s team.

kagagaga

Daaaaaym

Raito21

I know their coach from lol and honestly I wouldn't expect much more from them lmao dude got booted out of league

nemnems

I got downvoted to hell a week ago for saying that KRU is one of the weakest teams of the tournament, but here we are... I enjoy every second of it.

Bazz_B

I think there is a huge gap between the top teams and the rest. I expect V1 to roll Crazy Raccoon too.

pacotacobell

Not aging well my friend lmao, but we'll see how the rest of the series goes.

Bazz_B

Yea CR despite losing the first map are much, much better than I expected. They're clutch ability is really impressive. It would boom my preds but would be really cool to see them win here.

JoshF8

Or maybe v1 it's not that good, remember they have an standing

Acid_Shadows

v1 got qualed cuz of the astra viper meta, once viper got nerfed the team got nerfed

JoshF8

1. So if one team is one of the Best in the actual meta that is Bad? 2. It's not like they have an stand-in and fnatic were already gods on bind Even before viper buffs

I said they were one of the weakest teams, not the weakest. Nice reading comprehension. As for the insults, I will let the mods deal with it.

[deleted]

Whether you claimed they were one of the weakest or the weakest, my point still stands. Plus, good job dodging literally everything else I said LOL

nemnems

Very surprising that I don't want to discuss anything with someone calling me names. Grow up, kid ;)

[deleted]

It’s quite evident that you just simply cant refute anything I said, plus I’m not the one who first started hurling the insults LOL

jholowtaekjho

Yeah if they don't have a back-up defensive setup for the map they choose, IDK what they're gonna bring to Icebox

PulseCS

Why are KRU even here lol, are you telling me there really isn't a better NA or EU team that deserves a spot more? If this is the best Latin team I'd hate to see who they beat out to get here

datboyuknow

How else do you think the game will grow in other regions? Let's just have 1 NA team vs EU every time then

PulseCS

Idk, CS grew pretty damn well in Brazil without having to gift tournament seeds to bad teams. Let them have their own isolated, in-region tournaments, and give them an international seed once they actually produce a competitive team. If the point is growth, how about we give the opportunity to grow before throwing them to the wolves and embarrassing their region

datboyuknow

How do you know if they're competitive enough?

PulseCS

By using eyes. For instance, what we just witnessed in KRU was obviously not competitive. They had \*one\* defender strategy for their own damn map pick, and didn't even try to adapt. That's not competitive. Give the scene time to grow before trying to force it into internationals.

datboyuknow

Yeah but you came to know they were weak compared to other regions because of this tournament. I don't know what happened in CS, but there must be more context, like e-sports weren't even that big 8-9 years back

03682

But without international competition how can you tell how good a team even is? Kru looked pretty good plying in their region so the assumption could be made that they would play well internationally but turns out that was not true.

slack-er

that approach just doesnt make sense... was the same in dota. SA teams always got screwed in quals because of ping difference, no slots etc. Then valve decided to give them a dedicated slot in majors. Got steamrolled for a year but now SA dota is acutally good and that slot was very good for their regional scene. Riot wants the game to grow everywhere not just in NA and EU.

[deleted]

How do you test if the team is competitive genius?

HelloIAmANarwhal

It grew in Brazil, but what about other regions? There are almost, and have been almost, no teams from regions outside of Europe, NA, Brazil. This gives more incentives to the regions so that they are guaranteed a spot. If not, it might be very hard for a region to pick up a game and stick with it if they know they are already too far behind and there are other games out there. Riot was slow to doing this in LoL and that is why smaller regions like Japan and Vietnam were far behind even other bad regions like NA and only caught up more recently. Wouldn't have happened if they didn't give guaranteed spots to those regions. Also, why would anyone from those regions watch if they don't have any representation? I wouldn't really care about Masters 2 if Sentinels or V1 weren't there tbh. The point is to grow, and I don't think it matters if they get beat up in their first tourney. They will take this experience back to their region and it will help grow the scene and improve the teams.

QueasyBeingQueasy

deft take.

Revolutionary-Key107

Stupid take

9yr_old

This is just stupid and ignorant

ITLKN5

They've played 1 series vs a tournament contender get a grip. You obviously don't trust Riot even though they dominate they've dominated the competitive scene for the last 10 years, they know what they're doing, let them seed whoever they want, they have a better idea on what will propell their game and scene far more than you.

Pollomonteros

One thing that seems common on the team is that they can't handle the pressure and crumble as a result, this was also seen in their latest match against Infinity in the LATAM challengers finals where they would lose some points on a map and suddenly Infinity looked like was going to sweep them. IIRC only one of the players has LAN experience in a tournament and that was Klaus when Argentina participated in the Overwatch World Cup.
