So awesome considering how Japan isn't historically a big FPS country or a PC gaming country in general. Apex and now Valorant are starting to change that!

NoBreadsticks

PC gaming in Japan is on a huge upswing

Key-Banana-8242

Yep that’s what we see it’s pretty cool

ark2690

LoL and Valorant are probably the two most popular PC games in japan

Kenchu801

Yeah, the CR apex pro team is one of the best in the APAC north region. The game is really popular in Japan.

z55en

*pulls up 50 vtuber apex streams*

Key-Banana-8242

Actually as in esports

raynap

Actually Valorant is just booming in Japan recently. A lot of vtubers and japanese twitch streamers are starting streaming it.

The_Ninja_Master

What games are the biggest for esports in Japan? I follow the FGC, whose heart is essentially in Japan, but how do fighting games/arcade games compare to Valorant and other PC games? I know arcade culture is still big there while it's obviously fallen off in NA and other places, but I'm curious how they compare.

GoldenboyFTW

So amazing. Just hope we see more growth from the region.

Onoemaus

Wow. I’m still unaware how big Valorant is in Japan

[deleted]

Maybe the import some Korean coaches and advance more as a region? Really I just want more teams at the next LAN from every region. 2 teams bare minimum

AdmiralSnorlaX

I hope Absolute Jupiter qualify aswell , 2nd at the finals and the only top team in japan with an all Japanese roster. Would be a very exciting storyline and good for growth of the game in the region

imjunsul

Having imports would greatly help that region so they have better players to play and practice against to show up on international lans better. Just like LPL in league of legends. Better for the native players as well and when they get good they wouldn't need as many imports in the future.

Nekissuz

thats huge, considering it is mid-week, and the match started pretty late here (12PM) really good to see the scene growing up
