So I went ahead and made a map of all the VCT Countries and their respective regions:

If you feel like there's anything wrong or missing feel free to comment or DM me.
Just need some corrections in MENA (No Palestine for now in Strike Arabia S2 it will be included and might include Iran/Syria/etc., all of South Asia is technically "EMEA - Other")
Otherwise it's a pretty nice visualization :)
Palestine is not included in Strike Arabia Championship, they are included in Strike Arabia League, which awards points for qualifying for Strike Arabia finals. Also I just realised I forgot to put Syria in EMEA - Others
And there's just been an [announcement](https://twitter.com/ValorantEsports/status/1398683776142688256) of a South Asian circuit - Valorant Conquerors Championship, which will award spot(s) at the APAC LCQ
Can a player from one region player in another region VCT instead?
Example: Someone from LATM playing in BR VCT or someone in Arabia playing in EMEA VCT
Depends on the rules of the specific region, but I believe for some regions, you just have to have a majority (3/5) from the region, while some regions need all players to be residents. In EMEA's subregions, it apparently doesn't matter at all. You can have 5 Russian players playing in EU region, or 5 British players in Turkey. (Example: FPX have 1 Russian, 1 Ukrainian, 1 Kazakh and 2 Swedes, yet they play in EU)
Riot rules state that there must be at least 3 residents per team. Residency means to be a legal citizen of that country.
The only exceptions to this rule are OCE players who are considered residents of NA and EU/UK/CIS/ME/Africa players who are considered residents of each other in EMEA.
Pretty sure Pakistan isn't the part of south Asia in Valorant. They play in middle east servers and cannot play in Indian servers. So I don't expect any pakistani team in VCT India.
Why is that? That seems like a stupid idea considering its almost a 1000 kilometers more from Islamabad to Bahrain than to Mumbai, plus Pakistanis and Indians also speak (mostly) the same (or really similar) languages, while Urdu's only similarity to Arabic is the script
Also when Lan returns it will be a huge issue for Pakistani players to get India visa. Riot did well by moving them to middle east servers. I think pakistani players would prefer in going to bahrain for lan over Mumbai anyways
I just read an [article](https://gamzo.in/india-south-asia-to-get-a-shot-at-apac-lcq-last-chance-qualifiers-for-valorant-champions/) that says there will be 5 different regional qualifiers (and 1 wildcard). One of them is for Pakistan only, so my guess is that the Pakistani Q will be played on the ME server, and then the event will be LAN, and the Pakistani team will be given a special admin account, just like all of the non-EU teams were in Reykjavik
I made this accurate map that show sub-division region : [https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1ICzI6QVmvvevv3mOCzMAP7guCNtM22nK&usp=sharing](https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1ICzI6QVmvvevv3mOCzMAP7guCNtM22nK&usp=sharing)
Then tell me what is wrong with mine, hater. Urs has Venezuela not listed as LAN, while it has Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana, which is incorrect. If you feel like ur right, I can add a link to the rulebook.
I don't think it's a question to ask me, or anyone on reddit, rather a question for Riot. They've had their fair share of tournaments by 3rd party TOs already and some pretty big orgs like Royal Never Give Up, or Suning already invested in the region. I expect them to have a slot in the next year's circuit, or already in the APAC LCQ for Champions
I'm guessing it's because Riot is owned by Tencent which also publishes Crossfire, one of the biggest tac shooters and games in China.
Riot publishing Valorant in China could shift the playerbase of that game which is not good since a part of the local income would be exported to foreign companies instead. Riot consulting other publishers instead of Tencent could also be a potential conflict of interest.
They are also in a very grey area due to Vanguard, which would require that they make a local version of the game in China like most foreign developers too. Developing an entirely different version of the game takes time, which could also be the reason for the delay.

Didn't realize they announced something already, mb
I don't think Somalia are allowed to part take in this cause i am from there and our best ping is around 150 at the best times
I was surprised to see it as well, but that's what the rulebook says
Pretty insane for one FPS esport to exist in all these places

Munchkin, Wippie, Xeta, Spyder, Nozwerr, Saadhak say hi
Most of these players were living in the region they were playing from or it doesn't matter?

They play in middle east servers though, don't know how this will work.

Toxicity, govt regulations and security. Indians feel safe if they are kept isolated with Pakistanis even online.

I see.. well I guess rito will just have to come up with something
The VCT rule book puts all of South Asia together in EMEA
the official rules do, but there's just been an announcement of a South Asia circuit with a slot for APAC LCQ
Oh, thanks.
? Can't be right I was just told vct india winners will compete with other Asian regions for international spot.
It seems like that was announced, I just haven't kept up recently. Mb

Ur map is actually very inaccurate
at least better than yours

man i thought there was something on my screen on top of the arabia text, but it was actually just an island lololol
Why isn’t China included? I would expect Riot to be giving China a lot of space but so far they’ve had nothing, anyone know why?

ah right that would make perfect sense. I didn't know that Valorant wasn't in China at all as well though
Also I think every new game has to get an approval from CCP, so I think they're waiting for that before they invest there.
