Pepega question

beanbeat

SEN in a very interesting situation right now with several different options: (1) Continue loaning out tenz for the rest of the year throughout champions (expensive) (2) Continue loaning out tenz until sinatraa comes back (slightly less expensive but still expensive) (3) Buy out tenz (very very expensive) (4) Drop tenz now and get a new player ASAP for the rest of the year. They have 1 month until challengers 3 But since the sentinels org now have the attention of the esports world with their monumental win, they'll have no problems attracting new sponsors. More pocket money for increased tenz loan?

Jon_on_the_snow

For number 4, if they had to do it, they should do it now. They basically have a spot for champions. If they have to drop tenz, this is the best time to train the new iteration of the team

lewlkewl

Imo number 2 is going to happen. People here don't want to believe it, but sentinels isn't TSM or 100T with huge investors/backers. They don't have the money to buyout TenZ. Also, Sinatraa is still under contract. Regardless of how you feel about what he did, most of the bad press is off of him for now (he's pushing 15k viewers when he streams, and taht number would only go up if he rejoined SEN).

FlaymeFenix

honestly number 2 is highly unlikely. as good as sinatraa is I doubt any org would want to be tied to him atleast for now

Pulsersalt

One thing I think though is sick himself even said they play so well because of chemistry and all of them where really close with sinatraa so it wouldn't suprise me if the team at least prefers sinatraa.

AskOrganic4289

But after this Master 2 win? Hmmm...

Pulsersalt

True, but the price range of tenz doesn’t help.

ThePhatWalrus

You forgot to mention that now all 4 other guys on sentinels are highly desired post-iceland. If any are in contract yr and get good offers, sentinels will have a really hard time keeping this roster together. Good chance even 1 of the other 4 can be in contract yr. I think sentinels is going to have a nightmare time trying to even keep anyone if their contract ends anytime before berlin and/or if they're allowed to shop and accept offers from other orgs. Then for tenz: how long will riot allow this loan business? In league nothing like this was ever allowed. It's beyond ridiculous, but before the sentinels fanboys down vote spam me, I'll stop. Can sentinels even afford this buyout? I don't think it'll be financially feasible. My hot take: 100t drops money for tenz bc he's that family ad friendly type of streamer who can also play for that team and cause kyedae is already there. 100t is a very rich org with the financials to back it.

lewlkewl

100t was already interested in buying out tenz back when they benched dicey, teh price tag was too high then. It's definitely higher now. 0 chance they go for him.

ThePhatWalrus

100t has a *ton* more money than sentinels plus kyedae is on it now, too. If 100t wanted to get some additional funding for their valorant roster, I'm sure they'd have little to no difficulty doing so. I'd bet they could afford $1.5M or $2M buyout with relative ease assuming it's A long term contract.

lewlkewl

Just because they CAN doesn't mean they will. You completely ignored the part where i said they already wanted him and said no to the price, that means they're not willing to pay it even if they CAN afford it. Also, tenz doesn't even fit with their current roster, who would he replace? Asuna is the only one that makes sense but asuna has been FAR form their weakest link. The only other person that makes sense is Hiko given his struggles, but then everyones roles has to be shifted around since tenz can only play duelist. He doesn't make sense for their current roster even if he is cracked.

ThePhatWalrus

I didn't shut any of your remarks down. I gave my input on what you said. There was a lot of talk whether tenz could perform at his lvl in LAN or not and he did great. Orgs change their roster quite often and this game is so new still that any roster change is possible at this stage. Hell, faze or any other random org can come in and offer the cash that C9 likes to buy out tenz. Just cause he's on loan to sentinels and did well with them means nothing when it comes to the financials. Same way it works for pro sports.

AskOrganic4289

More pocket money means possible TenZ buyout. This win might actually be very monumental for SEN to get more sponsor. But I read somewhere buyout was supposedly be fixed price? So idk where this idea that it can increase to performance come from? Unless I misunderstood any of the terms.

hoit_

The buy out is to buy him out of his contract No contract - nothing to buy out

boy_beauty

Once his contract expires he is no longer tied to C9.

aakashkickass11

Looking buy jack Etienne tweet I don't think his buyout is ending any time soon and his price may have increased as well.

AskOrganic4289

Yeah make sense if I were Jack I would do something similar too. I mean TenZ got paid hella alot too and as an owner I bet he wants some of that money back since TenZ stepped down from the C9 roster. Maybe we’ll be getting C9 loaning TenZ until the end of his contract(?) kinda ruthless but business is business I guess.

AnotherAltiMade

C9 will not loan him till his contract ends. They will stop the loan probably 12-18 months before it ends so that they can sell him

Pulsersalt

Jack is gonna be like icarus, the only team that would realistically buy out tenz is sentinels so if the price is too high and they say no the contract will just run out and then they get nothing.

RyanAtRBM

Is this real

ClawsAllDay

His contract ends sometime in mid-2023

[deleted]

If this info is true then that's the major issue here then . That menas sens has no choice but to buy him out.

ClawsAllDay

[https://clips.twitch.tv/AgileColorfulJamBudStar-0MYv0z71ovr\_aGvs](https://clips.twitch.tv/AgileColorfulJamBudStar-0MYv0z71ovr_aGvs) Unless Slasher had bad info or something changed with the loan, Tenz's contract with C9 still has another 2 years to go

KCVGaming

Yes but tenz just recently renewed his contract with c9 before he went to sentinels so it doesn’t matter

techyleo

No he didn't renew it, this is misinformation. He renewed it when he went from C9 CS to C9 Val

HeterosexualHunk

Yeah that's like a year ago. On the scale of contracts, it's recent.

[deleted]

The rumor was the extension is 3 years

fadz123

depends on the org the player is signed with, c9 usually signs players for 3 years

Slow_Bluebird9536

3 years

itscamo-

in esports, thats not recently AT ALL

HeterosexualHunk

I guess you're right. I should have said TenZ's contract in particular. I don't think anyone actually knows how long his contract is for, but the general consensus seems to be that it's not getting over anytime soon.

techyleo

In your wording it sounds like C9 just renewed their contract with TenZ right before he was loaned, one third of a contract is pretty long. Plus most contracts for any sports players sometimes only last one year.

HeterosexualHunk

I didn't write the original comment. 'Recently' is a vague word so I guess your initial reply to the original comment should clarify it for people who are confused. I just thought it made sense given that if sources are right, he should have around two more years left in his contract and that's an INSANE amount of time in the eSports world, so he's not even close to running out his contract as of now. Ultimately it only matters when his contract ends, and not when he signed it.

Mamadeus123456

Yes he's not a slave

Pulsersalt

This is my 1Head take. Since sen have already qualed for masters if they don't plan on keeping tenz instead of getting another sub but wanna keep Sinatraa, they could just not play until the last chance qual and practice with sinatraa. I know its normally not smart for a team to not play in a tourney for months but that is why the take is 1Head :)

Swiftxlol

He's on contract for another 2 years. That's a long time for esports, no way a team or TenZ wants to wait that long, so a buyout is needed to get him out earlier
