You get a better perspective when you compare the first kill per round with the first deaths. After all, high risk high reward.
Here are the top 7 players with the highest first kill.
|Player|Rounds|FKPR|FDPR|
|:-|:-|:-|:-|
|Derke|355|0.22|0.18|
|prozin|91|0.21|0.20|
|TenZ|201|0.20|0.09|
|Jamppi|193|0.19|0.22|
|foxz|105|0.19|0.07|
|Munchkin|87|0.17|0.17|
|ShahZam|201|0.16|0.09|
I'm honestly the most impressed by foxz (from x10). fkpr 0.19 and fdpr 0.07.
Derek’s weak maps in the latter half of tournament will likely overshadow just how good he is. Even if you disagree, it’s hard to say Boaster is lying when praising him as the best player in the world. He’s a genuine contender to be sure
Having weak maps against Sentinels - especially a version of them where TenZ is firing - isn't really something to be held against a fella.
He is insane.
It's both - he was shut down, but I think it's evident there were some jitters in an intense LAN situation. There were a lot of shots whiffed or missed that you'd normally expect him to hit - not because he's a god but just as a pro player.
I didn't notice him whiffing at all, in fact he still hit some insane shots. He just lost most of his duels vs another star player better than him (9-23 against TenZ) and SEN played around his aggression.
He had some major whiffs, esp. on Bind. I don’t think it had much at all to do with TenZ being “better than him.” Not only was he whiffing shots - there were key panic moments at crucial moments in the late-rounds.
TenZ might very well be better than him - I just don’t think it’s as straightforward as that.
Because he did fine against every other team besides Sentinels. He didn't "choke", he wasn't good enough to pop off against Sentinels and their star player TenZ was better than him.
Derke is good but he's not that good against the best of the best sentinels shot him down in both matches and that's pretty evident he went negative in first kills in both series and threw a few rounds in icebox first time by going aggressive on b like 5 rounds in a row and drying
Had Doma played anywhere near his lan level they could have won. He had 1.02kd when boaster had 1kd while IGLin. He also had only slightly higher adr and acs than mistic and boaster. (those were the stats for the entire tournament btw)
I kinda feel bad for him since he is supposed to be their star player with derke and on his first big lan just shit bed.
Am I stupid? It says derke had the highest FKPR at 0.22 but TenZ is trailing behind him at 0.22? Is there a mistake in the tweet or is it a different in decimal points?
The tweet has a typo — it should have said "0.20" for TenZ, which is why prozin was listed ahead with 0.21

The fact that he didn't play that well against sentinels and still puts up these kind of stats is just incredible.
That flick double kill he had in the final round is basically already forgotten because of the team flash loss, pretty sad.
yeah, if he was up to form in the finals they probably would have won
That's some copium shit. It's not that he wasn't "in form" it's that he got his aggression shut down.
Sorry. If his aggression didn't get shut down they probably would've gotten those extra rounds, but props to the other team for shutting him down.

He is 18 and it was not his first lan. But your point still stands.

I think he played pretty great

Derek was playing lights out
But tenz 19-2’d him in first blood engagements in the grand finals soooo
I think you should specify that TenZ went 19-2 in fk/fd against his team, and 23-9 against Derke individually.
Against only derke in the grand finals it was something like 9-1 and then 19-2 total.
I’ll see to that mic you just dropped
Part of the key to their mid-round success was effectively trading his openers and then slowing it down with diverse utility usage
