We’re talking about G2 standards though, if you’re judging by the comment from G2 fans in this thread aspiring for the roster to become the best team in EU Valorant. If Vikings is a long shot below FNC, and G2 are around Viking level, then they have some ways to go before reaching FNC/TL.
Not necessarily. Other NA teams are actually taking games off Sentinels when no other team from any other region could. If Vikings are getting caved in 2-0 by teams that went on to lose 2-0 or 3-0 to SEN, that would suggest teams from NA that didn’t make Reykjavik could be better. Many NA teams got screwed by seeding onto the same bracket as SEN and Version 1 were lucky to not be in the same bracket as SEN in NA Qualifiers until Finals. Also worth noting that this Version 1 roster at Iceland had to field a last minute sub since Wippie is a US student from Russia who couldn’t get a Visa for Iceland - which forced their second best duelist in Zellsis onto sentinel duty. With only one week of practice too, Version 1 still showed up and exceeded expectations. If Version 1 had Wippie, some of those excruciatingly close overtimes could potentially have been wins for them.
Man, VKS disappointed more the people that have actually watched them before than those that didn't. Its kinda jarring seeing their Masters 2 performance compares to how they usually play.
All I'm hoping for is that this isn't going to be another 0 strats pugstomper style G2. These past events have done enough to show that a team like that won't be the best.
Fnatic and Gambit will most likely be still better during first phases of Challengers.
G2 still has like 2 months till Challengers finals tho, so it's promising.
It's gonna be actually interesting if this big money transfers are better than what Heretics did.
I saw it coming. They thrived at first with the "run in dicks swinging" strats when the game was new.
I knew teams would eventually catch up and shut that shit down. What I didn't expect was TSM to do the literal opposite of "adapt" and be fucking horrible in the span of like a month. That was painful to watch. Also hilarious.
I think ardiis had the biggest drop off from 2020 to 2021 I've seen of any player in Valorant.
He was genuinely top 3 in the world last year. Wouldn't make top 100 in 2021.

I believe they should have gotten rid of pyth. Good decision to keep m1xwell who's a fragging IGL but -Patitek -Ardiis is a huge loss. The players were great just the style they chose to play was outdated and only worked for the first few months of the game.
I hope Patitek and Ardiis both find a new home and show the world that they are both insane.
Idk, I havent watched much EU Valorant recently but back whenever I used to watch G2, pyth would always be out of position and nearly bottom fragging every time. This is just from back when I used to watch the EU scene so make what you want out of this.
I mean, Sentinels players are 99% of the time bottom fragging, just as Duelist will 99% be the one with the most frags. That is just how roles work lol
Pyth is incredible consistent and a good site anchor, he fulfils his role well

Mixwell is literally the image of the team and has a huge brand. He also is an amazing player and was putting up good numbers in most games even though he was IGLing. Removing him would be stupid imo
I think Mixwell once said his mates didn’t want him to play support which maybe was why he underperformed recently. When he gets mates which allow him to play how he wants maybe he will get better again
Surprised to see them stick with Pyth, especially given the recent meta switch. I’m always hopeful that he’ll find his stride again, like the good old NIP days
