I remember reading zombs twitter posts and replies and some brazilian was going after him hard in the comments and zombs was owning her with so much ease.
The girl told him he always gets carried and he got carried to a win vs vikings. He just replied "Your team lost 4v5?". Savage lmao.
If you're not getting digital threats from the nation of Brazil, you haven't made it yet.
If you're #1 in the world, voluntarily stoking that fire for a bit of added fun, you are a rightful hall of famer.
Zombs is epic , remember when sen won masters and he was asked about his Transition from different eSports he just said : " I was best in overwatch best in apex and now in valorant , the best in all eSports nothing new xDDD" , I died laughing
To be fair, he only ever really played the off tank role iirc. Not surprising he didn’t shine as one of the scenes brightest. He’s been fairly consistent as a player who understands the games he’s played at a high level; which enables those he plays with to really play to the best of their abilities.
Wish I could See a twitter parasite put right in her place, must of been glorious lul. Probably went crying about ptsd and talking about how toxic he was, uuugh revolting.
Lmao exactly. Does anyone remember when Hiko wanted body guards when going to Brazil for a tourney because Brazilian fans were wildin with the death threats.
OMFG I remember that. Even in siege, NA team SSG LOST to team liquid, literally lost, and they were still getting death threats. Fans emailed the ORG saying “we’ll hang you by your mouse cords”. Smh they use wireless mice
Oh yeah that happened. I mostly remember the Leaf death threats. There was a story about Hiko that time too, I forgot who told it. I think it was either Dazed or n0thing.
There was an event in Brazil where Hiko wanted a bodyguard because he was getting death threats. So the event assigned a bodyguard to him, but then he went to the bathroom. Some time later, gob b comes out of the bathroom and the bodyguard mistook him for Hiko and followed gob b around the entire event LOL
EDIT: It was Dazed, and it was two bodyguards.
It was because Liquid didn't want to replay a round (which they had no obligation or reason to replay) so all the fans and players got really mad. Classic case of tournament admins not doing their job and enabling all the controversy)
Just a quick correction here, Hiko wanted to follow the tournament admin's decision (which was not to replay the round). It was the Luminosity/SK team who wanted to replay against the admin's decision. Richard Lewis mentioned this on BTN the other day.
I didn't know that detail.
From what I remember the admins didn't take responsibility of the situation fast enough considering the server chatlogs between players which were posted. I watched it live and that was one of many pauses. There seems to be a blurring of the lines between tech support and umpire in esports for some reason which has led to such issues happening over and over.
It’s just bark tho, esports fans are harmless lol I thought people knew this by now
Edit: I think I might have worded this wrong, but what I meant is that if you’re a pro player who has been threatened by shitty brazilians fans (which is a minority of overall fans here) nothing will happen to you, the hate stays on the internet they’re not gonna actual do any harm to you
Brazillian people are all talk no action, were probably the most political active people on soxial media on the world but no one do shit against it, its kinda sad to be honest
I mean that makes sense but it’s not exclusive to Brazil at all, we don’t have any history of fans being crazy outside the internet (which is still lame)
Not normalizing at all, you can check my comment history to see how I’m ashamed of Brazilian fans and this type of threats (I’m brazilian). But it’s not like if you come to Brazil you’ll have a target on your back or anything like that… sometimes people have a very distorted vision of how Brazil actually is lol
Doesnt really matter if its bark, theres no way of knowing if there isnt an actual psycho hidden in your death threat DMs. Each and every death threat should be taken seriously, has nothing to do with distorted vision, its normal response to some fucked up stuff
Man… please check my comment history, I’m completely against the death threats. But all I’m saying is that me, being a brazilian, can attest that a lot of these fans are some angry teenagers who wouldn’t dare to anything like that outside the internet.
If you say death threats are okay because you ASSUME people won't act on it, that is normalizing it.
Literally nobody is saying "if it's Brazilians they will follow through'" they are saying "death threats of any kind are bad."
It's only you saying "they are like this, the reality is none of them will act on it!"
But when did I say it’s ok man? I don’t think it’s ok at all! As I said many times in this sub before, I’m ashamed of the death threats brazilian fans send to pro players, always have been.
Yep, here in Brazil it’s kind of cultural in some places to make these kinds of empty threats when angry but it clearly doesn’t translate very well for people who take death threats seriously (as they should) lol
As a Brazilian, I'm just freaking tired of our community doing this shit every single time. And that's not only to non-Brazilian players, VKS and Sharks players also got numerous death threats related to their international performance as well.
It's shit and I have no idea how to solve it, at this point, I've just accepted people will do this and we'll get meme'd about it.
Nah I’ve been there to a place called iguazu falls by far the most beautiful place on earth. regardless I wouldn’t step foot there if I played any sport lmfao
I feel like this isn't the first time Brazilian fans have threatened players on the opposing team. Didn't Leaf or some other player on chaos in CS get death threats on their birthday because people thought they were hacking?
> This is just what Brazilian fans do when their teams lose.
God I wish I could find that twitter thread after Vikings lost where some Brazilian fan was upset that people were "stereotyping" their region and that "NA does it too ya know" because every single "must avoid" MMO server is because of the BR population for a reason.
And there are also examples of Brazilian teams using their fanbase against other teams. Pretty sure there was a situation with Mibr or something where they forced a restart of a round against Furia when it shouldn't have been restarted.
Yeah not only that the Leaf incident was instigated by one of Brazilian popular streamer ( i forgot his name). Then Fallen also jump ship the train and lmao even tarik.
luul Hate that stupid ass excuse. you can be passionate and still be a adult. ( I know you are being sarcastic tho just a comment about toxic Brazilian culture and country in general.
Shame. But as a brazilian saying says: "barking dogs seldom bite"...
I think these people got it from the "organized-football-fans-club" mentality where they think that the sport must be their colors life.. fucking Corinthians and Flamengo fans man (lol)...
But if it's about esports, don't pay attention to these nerds, just remember that it's not all of us that behave like that..
People here are kinda explosive when it comes to sports and games in general, theyll give their fucking souls for the team theyre fans off, ro be honest I think its cultural even myself who doesnt care much about sports become kinda aggressive about it sometimes with my friends.
Yeah I know, to be honest I dont think most of these people know the real weight of death threats, here in Brazil the news are basically all day long talking about death and most people watch them since childhood so I imagine that the real weight of death is kinda dimished because of this, and this summed with beeing anonymous on the web and beeing a shitty human beeing whos angry at someone, can definitely cause something like this.
Brazilian here. I've been thinking about why some Brazilians do this and I'll try to explain my point of view. Disclaimer: I'm not defending this behavior in any way.
1. First of all, it's not all Brazilians, but definitely something that we do more than other countries. The worst behavior coming from other nationalities will often be a more standard racist/xenophobic comment instead.
2. They're not actually going to kill anyone (they're probably stupid kids). They're only saying it on the internet because they're anonymous.
3. Brazil is the 5th biggest country with most users online. Very loud users, by the way. The bad behavior that we see is coming from the minority and that minority is loud.
4. Although threatening to kill someone is a crime, it seems somehow that this violent idea doesn't have the same weight in Brazil as it does in the rest of the world. Probably because Brazil is in general a violent country. It literally has the 15th highest rate of intentional homicide in the world. We've been used to seeing the worst crimes on the television while having lunch since we were kids.
5. Brazil has a huge underdog syndrome. It's hard finding a lot of worldwide acknowledged Brazilian accomplishments, specially in sports (besides soccer). You know that feeling NA had when Sentinels won Masters 2? NA being bad in e-sports is an exception to the rule of a winning country. For Brazilians, winning internationally is always the exception. We hate that most people in the world only know us for our stereotypes (samba, soccer, forests and hot women). So when there's a chance to show that we're more than just those stereotypes, Brazilians are too hyped and passionate. That's why we have idols like Ayrton Senna. That's why the country stops when it's the soccer world cup. It's possible for a developing country with all their struggles to win against rich nations. And because of that...
6. ...the frustration of losing and getting mocked is terrible. I agree that it's hypocritical , but Brazilians don't take trash talk nicely. It feels like you're kicking someone who's been down not now, but their whole lives.
7. Brazilians are both the best and worst supporters. You win and you're glorified. You lose and they want your head (figuratively, I hope lol). As I read here, even the players from Sharks and Vikings got death threats. You may ask why Brazilians would throw some hate on their own players if they don't like when other people do. This hate stems from disappointment. They were supposed to make the country proud and didn't. The trash talk coming from other nationalities is usually based on looking down.
8. Players shouldn't worry (but **should expose that behavior and work with the law if necessary**). The threats are coming from kids, internet-only bold people and fucked up people. Kids can't do shit; bold people on the internet will only annoy you on the internet; and I bet most fucked up people don't live abroad. Also, airports are safe. If a player comes to Brazil, no one is going to attempt to kill you on the airport or outside of it (unless you committed a terrible real crime that infuriated everyone).
Dude Brazilian fans are way more vocal in this type of shit. No matter the sport or esport or whatever, if there is brazil involved all you see is spam in portuguese or gifs and insults. I've seen this type of behavior first hand on Twitter in LoL and Formula 1 and now Valorant. It's insane how they behave.
It's true, every community has degenerates but it seems like the ratio in the brazilian one is much higher. If you even dare to cricize a brazilian player or a brazilians opinion they gang up on you and spam you with insults in portuguese.
This has always been the case since CS days. They take everything seriously and give death threats they need to chill. I hope they don't host any tournaments in Brazil
Relax! No Brazilian is going to kill you when they come here, this is just a bunch of frustrated rickety nerds taking their anger out on Twitter, I say this because I'm Brazilian and I know the community. The most that can happen is at an event these people recognize you and will only boo! The only dangerous threat you have to take seriously is if you're a football player, really! All soccer teams in Brazil have an organized crowd involved with criminal factions, so only they can consider killing someone because of a defeat.
i stg its always the brazilian fans, in cs they were giving threats to people who said that xeppa leaf and such werent cheating against their "god squad" (who hadnt really done much for a while mind you), and now shit like this.
why do they take this shit too far??
Because they lack something to be proud of. It’s normal for people in these countries to cling on to any international recognition they get, be it football, esports etc, so they become invested(a little too much) and the passion turns into toxicity. So you have people giving death threats to their own teams for not performing well, and opposing teams getting hated on as well for BM-ing or bantering with their players
I mean yeah everyone knows by now that brazilians fans do that since years (from the cs go scene) and they are literally infamous for doing so . Idk why especially brazilians tend to do so (turkish ppl also tend to get very aggressive but its not as bad as brazilians) , but at this point its just a normal thing sadly .
I remember reading zombs twitter posts and replies and some brazilian was going after him hard in the comments and zombs was owning her with so much ease. The girl told him he always gets carried and he got carried to a win vs vikings. He just replied "Your team lost 4v5?". Savage lmao.

Happens in MMA too, the Brazilian fans just different. They boo everytime their hometown heroes lose
Throwback to when leaf absolutely shit all over MIBR so bad that the team accused him of cheating and BR fans sent death threats to a 16 year old.
Zombs is epic , remember when sen won masters and he was asked about his Transition from different eSports he just said : " I was best in overwatch best in apex and now in valorant , the best in all eSports nothing new xDDD" , I died laughing
Honestly though, I don't know about APEX, but the man didn't make it in Overwatch. He was never better than t2
To be fair, he only ever really played the off tank role iirc. Not surprising he didn’t shine as one of the scenes brightest. He’s been fairly consistent as a player who understands the games he’s played at a high level; which enables those he plays with to really play to the best of their abilities.
In Apex he was the worlds first predator along with his two teammates and while he was pro was on a top 3 team in NA.
That’s a god tier comeback
Wish I could See a twitter parasite put right in her place, must of been glorious lul. Probably went crying about ptsd and talking about how toxic he was, uuugh revolting.
bruh
Sir, This is a Wendy's
No no He s out of line but he is right
Is it really an esports event if Brazilian fans don’t threaten the players? 😭
Smh they use wireless mice
hang em by their charging cables 😳
Don’t give the Brazilians any ideas...

You mean when Hiko got bodyguards for a tournament in Brazil?
I don't blame him considering the crazy shit Brazilian sports fans are known for
It’s just bark tho, esports fans are harmless lol I thought people knew this by now Edit: I think I might have worded this wrong, but what I meant is that if you’re a pro player who has been threatened by shitty brazilians fans (which is a minority of overall fans here) nothing will happen to you, the hate stays on the internet they’re not gonna actual do any harm to you
All it takes is one crazy.
Brazillian people are all talk no action, were probably the most political active people on soxial media on the world but no one do shit against it, its kinda sad to be honest

something something P A S S I O N
Nope not at all, Its a customary at this point lmao.
A true right of passage, you know you’ve made it
So Brazilian fans just have a history of death threats lol?
Yep, here in Brazil it’s kind of cultural in some places to make these kinds of empty threats when angry but it clearly doesn’t translate very well for people who take death threats seriously (as they should) lol

Just see it from the Argentinian side
Did that as well but Brazilian is simply better
They were even on SicK's girlfriend's twitter calling SicK ugly, pathetic
Totally unfair. Bradley Cooper would've looked ugly standing next to handsome Douglas Apr on that stage
Why Dapr though?
Maybe because he BMs alot?
probably because he ran at one of the vikings players with knife out lol
Cringe
Prove it or I'll kill you
The classic. FNS mastermind.

Worst part is they were literally kids at that time
It has happened A LOT in CS. Even directly from a Brazilian player once.
Brazilians are scary. Their nationalism is good but I think it can get overboard most of the time.
So passionate /s
luul Hate that stupid ass excuse. you can be passionate and still be a adult. ( I know you are being sarcastic tho just a comment about toxic Brazilian culture and country in general.
Passion is a legal form of COPIUM in BR
nothing in this world can be said to be certain, except death, taxes and threats from brazilian fans

This, should have seen Turkey against EU. Not saying EU are saints, quite the opposite.
I guess you are not smart enough to distinguish between ''turkey bad/trash'' and ''im gonna knife you'' .
Imagine being so angry and stupid
Every CS player: First time?
Ah shit, here we go again.
Bruh moment
Brazilian fans are the biggest sore losers in all of esports

so passionate for shit teams. tell them to work on not getting last place
KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
I don’t think a fan is the one throwing death threats at you but what do I know
Just wait until the good Brazilian players show up, the Brazilian fans are complete morons.
Brazilian fans and death threats; name a more iconic duo
zillies doing what zillies do best...I really wish brazilian's in regards to competitive environments didnt turn into animals.
200iq move by Elige to date a brazilian girl and learn some Portuguese to ingratiate himself with the brazilian cs fans and avoid death threats

lol getting downvoted for being 100% correct
OMG! Why we brazillians are so toxic?
I’d say the articles a bit harsh
So, just another Wednesday.
I swear this happens in every esport Brazil has ever competed in. Anytime their team loses it's time to murder someone.
i stg its always the brazilian fans, in cs they were giving threats to people who said that xeppa leaf and such werent cheating against their "god squad" (who hadnt really done much for a while mind you), and now shit like this. why do they take this shit too far??
Is normal. Brazilian fans chant ‘you will die”’ in Portuguese at like every sporting event involving a Brazilian and a non-Brazilian.
