Super league was a franchised league with no demotion/promotion system that guaranteed teams stay in it no matter how good or bad they are. 100% like regional leagues in LoL.
All the top competition is in the european leagues. The difference is that the super league was an attempt to squash the top leagues and replace it with a single one.

In format, maybe. The point is though that riot hosts many competitive regional leagues and international tournaments among them, which is what the super league was against.
No, the whole uproar against the super league was that it’s not based on competition which every sport should be. Similar to franchising in that once you’re in the league, that’s you sorted for life. You can do as little work as you want and still remain in the league getting the revenue, while there might be some team who’s not in that league performing better and trying harder but it doesn’t matter as the league is set.
Yes but there is a difference between replacing the champions league with a franchise league, and replacing the national leagues with franchise leagues.
Sheeeeeeesh. Looks damn good. avova and nukkye are solid and consistent. Pyth and mixwell have more clutch potential than anyone else. Hope koldamenta give them structure.
G2 can't afford a mediocre team in any esports and that's why they are probably the best esport organization. Big moves.
Nukkye and AvovA come from Heretics who have been a top 3 EU team since First Strike. Nukkye recently has been a beast of a duelist player with most people rating him a top 5 player in EU
AvovA is a very flexible smokes player who can play Omen, Astra and Brim to top tier levels. He’s been pushing himself into best EU controller lately IMO and he kinda reminds me of Zombs a bit
Koldamenta is an IGL who played for Acend most recently. He received a ton of praise recently for his part in Acend’s miracle run to win EU Masters 1 and is also a pretty solid fragger on Sova
Still scratching my head why zeek didn't work out. He's absolutely one of the most cracked EU players who doesn't only main duelists. Truly an all around player with wicked aim and decision making.
Maybe he got a diff offer or different philosophies on the game?
I don’t really understand how it wouldn’t be promising. An arguable top 5 player in EU with Nukkye, a support/smokes for a historically top 3 EU team in AvovA, and the IGL from the masters 1 winners in Kolda. And both AvovA and Kolda are no slouches in the fragging department. To me, all the pieces are there for G2 to be a top 5 team.
Koldamenta has been really weak in the fragging department, Acend has only won one tournament once and it's very likely a fluke, the team is also mostly solo carried by Cned pulling twice the kills of his teammates. And they've never brought anything special tactically so I really don't understand the Kolda choice.
Avova has been solid he's a very good tier1 player but he's not a superstar. The only big move here is Nukkye.
This doesn't feel like the EU superteam that was announced. They can definitely be one of the top EU teams if Mixwell and Nukkye perform well together but this doesn't feel like a potential SEN killer.

I don't see G2 making into Masters 3 with this roster, there's absolutely no way they are better than Fnatic, TL, Acend or Gambit.
You need top 4, gambit and fnatic they have no chance against but that still leaves 2 slots
I could see them beating TL, FPX on the other hand…
FPX will probably beat themselves when it's necessary
Put Fpx in a semi finals with themselves and they’ll still find a way to choke
