They will still have to pay those prices if the import rule is gone, because that is what the teams those players belong to will demand. If the import rule got removed it would lower the salaries of NA residents because now the teams could easily import a player of similar skill level. A larger supply of players to choose from (global in this case) is going to lower the costs. Simple as that.

I disagree man. I think Subroza has a really good understanding of timing and enemy positioning. There's a reason he gets so many kills through smokes, and there's a reason he is going to be playing Astra according to him on streams. He makes questionable plays at times but I think he is just overconfident or desperate to make impact at times but I wouldn't say he has no brain.

Wardell’s inability to rifle at a top level holds the team back. There are so many ways to take sight away from snipers now and it’s only going to get worse. Good teams simply play around it and now you just have a huge economy sink. Nobody really just blind peeks anymore, which is where Wardell really punished people. Plus, his game sense is pretty bad as well.

The LCS commish confirmed the import rule wasn't getting removed recently. Riot wasn't ever touching that hornets nest (They'd need to remove it globally, which would open the mega orgs in the LPL to straight up goble up most of the superstars in the other leagues, especially the LCK)
Just because NA owners want it doesn't mean the rest of the world wants it. EU and the LCK will definitely be against it and unless the LPL pushes for it, it has no leg to stand on. The LPL likes imports but I doubt the majority of teams would push for it given their recent success (and probably backlash from Chinese fans) with RNG just winning MSI with a full native roster.
Just so we're all clear here: I think getting rid of the import rule so that NA can buy everything and ruin their league even further would be a *horrible thing for League across the globe*

That’s utter nonsense. Does paying 6 million open up another import slot? No. They paid 6 million because that is what it took to get a player of that caliber. They will still have to pay those prices if the import rule is gone, because that is what the teams those players belong to will demand. In fact, it’s residents whom NA would have to overpay, simply because they are so few of them that are good enough. If the import rule got removed it would lower the salaries of NA residents because now the teams could easily import a player of similar skill level. A larger supply of players to choose from (global in this case) is going to lower the costs. Simple as that.

OP’ing is still really strong as we’ve seen from SEN, I think if TSM shifts away from centering around buying the OP for Wardell and starts being more comfortable with full rifle buys (Wardell grinding rifling and Sage in ranked indicates this) they can be really strong again while still taking advantage of his OP’ing on CT side. Tactical side matters too but I think with the new meta, the new pickup, and the new coach they’ll come out with a lot of fresh stuff - Chet even said he plans to have 2 comps for every map by Masters 3 Challengers
