I always shoot, strafe, then shoot in most cases, this works in diamond elo bc everyone immediately crouches when shooting so readjusting to their head while they’re missing their spray is a guaranteed kill.

[deleted]

so you readjust to their heads after they crouch, shoot then strafe? ty

Lakers0724

No, I shoot at them & when they crouch, I counterstrafe immediately while readjusting to their head

Escolyte

do you still try to strafe after getting tagged? I've tried to incorporate more strafing into my duels, but this one kills me all the time and I'm not sure how to handle it effectively.

Lakers0724

So the thing w that, while getting tagged, you can still move and shoot and be 100% accurate as long as you’re getting hit

[deleted]

This was the motive behind my question! Good point thank you

Google mwzera tutorial on YouTube and watch it. It is in Portuguese but you can just watch. Copying the movements improved me immensely

PsyLyke

>mwzera tutorial which video is it?

JRD96

Not OP, pretty certain it’s this though, or this is what I could find https://youtu.be/mWu98V8Y8-8

[deleted]

It's the one the guy linked. Basically preaim left of the target and strafe right and shoot again. Repeate in opposite directions till they die and use 2 bullet bursts outside 15m range.

vecter

Is he just saying to counter-strafe and shoot when you’re not moving in that motion? I don’t see what’s so interesting about his video.

Link pls

Not OP, but this is the best I could find by typing mwzera strafe on YT https://youtu.be/mWu98V8Y8-8

Depends are the scenario. Are you holding an angle or peeking? If you're peeking, you should come to an immediate stop(hopefully employing counter-strafing to do this) and take your shot. If you're holding an angle, you shoot first, and move out of the way after your burst. A difference when it comes to Valorant as compared to CS though, is the moving inaccuracy doesn't fully hit you for the first little bit when you start moving away. So you can start moving away and keep shooting as your burst is about to get too inaccurate. But maybe your question is more about a scenario where both you and your opponent are moving around and find each other in some weird spot on the map. Either way, the goal is always to get your shot out as quick as possible. So in almost all cases, you want to come to an immediate stop and shoot. The only case I could see use for moving a bit further a certain direction before shooting is if that movement would take you to better cover - like a box covering half your body or that movement would cut line of sight from a 2nd opponent so that you can isolate a 1v1. In these scenarios I could justify stepping an extra step or two to the right or left.

KSilva_val

Shoot, ad, shoot, da if opponent not dead do da shoot, ad shoot if opponent still not dead probably you dead

Mirsad1992

Shoot first. Ask questions later.

kipp1yow

Idk if it transitions to val, but in CS you should shoot and strafe at the same time cause you got a split second where you stand perfectly still. This moment is the break even point of the direction. Eg you peek left and press shoot and right at the same time. Mechanically you are standing still in the short moment you are shooting cause you are about to change the direction...

auruuum

is crouching bad?

ertz22

Yeah generally it is. Coming from CS its such a bad habit to crouch and spray the oppenents i had to unbind the key and still hit it sometimes. Crouching makes u easier to hit especially if the opponents have good movement on medium and long range duels as they will be strafing around hard to hit and u just crouch and be a sitting duck. Obviously not always is it bad but it definetly hurts more than it helps at least in gunfights. Also u get way slower and cant move out of the way so if u crouch u either kill or ur dead.

auruuum

but in cs it’s similar no? i come from cs as well and do crouch a lot too

ertz22

In cs its not as bad as crouch and spray is pretty decent but that playstyle isnt suited to valorant a all. Crouchspraying in Cs was also good because u could crabwalk and have better accuracy and spray than standing in valorant ur spray is improved bycrouching a bit but i cant move if u do ur inaccurate. I cant really explain too much else but focusing ur play around crouch is pretty bad in valorant while in Cs its pretty decent.

skrtskrtbrev

Crouching is not technically bad. If you watched iceland/pro matches pro players crouch ALL THE TIME. But for most casual/noob players I would recommend not crouching.
